I can understand your opinions if you had no idea what was going on in the backrooms, which you might not have as you aren't a leader. However, people seem to forget the point I bolded in Keegoz's post - if it had just been Mensa raiding protectorates then the issue would have been resolved either diplomatically or through war between the two alliances, and we wouldn't have !@#$ed out and called all of our allies in to help (if you doubt my claims in that then please ask metro about the TAC war, when our nations were nearly ZId from refusing to accept help from allies and he was upset he didn't get to roll our allies as well.). You guys were trying to start a war with Rose, without hitting Rose; your allies in UPN were basically telling us that if we responded to it they were going to step in on your side. Do you fault Rose for trying to think of a more strategic plan over fighting Mensa (which likely brought in SK), and UPN (which likely would have resulted in TC involvement)? Yes. You guys do. Because you didn't get all the backing you were expecting with it being the world vs. Rose and VE, and instead just got a handful of alliances involved. You didn't get us completely destroyed in the fashion you desired and instead try to capitalize on all that you can, which just consists of bragging about beating up the weakest chain in the link. Had we just run in hamfisted then we likely would have immediately been attacked by tS, Guardian, SK, and UPN. I currently have no issue with Mensa but with regards to those events: until you have been put in a similar position and you have all the information, you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.

I was playing hard support when I calibrated a few months back and was like... right under 3k or something around there. I haven't been able to really play since this semester started though.

The normalizing of protectorate raiding is a pretty sick and evil thing in my opinion. You are trying to piss off a larger alliance without having the gall to actually just hit them, so you hit people who went to them to seek help with growth and the game overall. Keegoz is absolutely right in saying that it is the reason alliances normally go towards having two protectorates rather than one now, the issue that is going to cause though is: what happens when the two protectors have a dispute? The protectorate is always going to favor one over the other and it is going to put them in a bad spot. Rose did regret the things done to people we protected a while back but we have worked things out with everyone involved and no one we were allied to at the time is mad at us over what happened, in fact none of them even backed out of the protectorate/treaty with that as a primary reason. The only protectorate that ended was an alliance that disbanded because the strain it had gone through from Mensa raiding it was too much for the new players. The only defense level treaty changed was that with Vanguard, who we still regard and friends and I talk to all the time. I knew about the chances of my protectorates getting hit and I went to every single one of them and talked to them about it, I'm sure people here can attest to that. If UPN had knowledge that it's protectorates were going to be raided (not to even mention it was over a war that UPN started) then yeah, it was their mistake. One I'm sure they won't make again after seeing the response given by Orbis. Feasting on young alliances that are full of new players and new faces to the world is an awful thing, it is going to kill new alliances, illustrate the people raiding them as tyrants, and make it that much harder for people to join the political scene. The primary thing here that makes this situation different is that Mensa claims they had told UPN they would be hitting the protectorates, and it was also to punish UPN for the aggressive action. I do think it is kind of absurd for the protectorates to assume they wouldn't be caught with the conflicts of their protector, despite all this. People play to win, and winning means making sure people aren't working to threaten you and your allies (which, to some, means punishing the friends of those who threatened you). But considering it was a counter-offensive strike - the greatest lesson to be learned is just don't sign on for an alliance to protect you if you think they are going to start a war that will pull you in, unless for some ungodly reason you're okay with it. The threat will always be there, no matter the probability.

Decisions like these are not easy to make, I wish you the best with your future endeavors.

I'm actually glad to see this, I have been seeing a new side of Mensa lately and i'm not sure if I had just refused to see it up until now or if something had changed. I do wish both of you the best from this.

Rose hereby surrenders to The Light Federation. Our war skills were inadequate and we suffered for it. Not to mention the awful fashion with which we handled any and all diplomacy for the duration of this conflict. I am now a personal servant to MrBooty, as the surrender terms stated.

Pathetic attempts to force my hand by posting these on OWF do nothing but make me want less to do with you and your allies. If you have an interest in working with me then I'm always on IRC and there is always space in my inbox. Do keep in mind that alpha declared on UPN first and the counter is a result of their aggressive action. I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong, but I would advise you quit this facade that you are on an entirely altruistic side; everyone has their faults. I have respect for several people on both sides of the war, actions like this do nothing but tarnish the name and reputability of those individuals. I recognize that this event has happened, if you have an actual message that you want me to take seriously then contact me in private.
