  1. So, it wasn't long ago that I had some ideas to add to the game, one being the idea of a Rainbow Council - a representative body made up of elected nations from each color. What powers would they have though? I hadn't figured that part out yet. I also recently had an idea for Cartels - giving the players the power to set minimums (or maximums) on trade prices on the global market. Today, I got an even better idea. Lets combine the two features: Each color would have it's own body of representatives. The Red Senate, Blue Senate, Green Senate, etc. These would be comprised of 6 elected nations, and elections would be held every 2 weeks. You'd be eligible to vote as long as you'd been on that color for at least 1 week. These "Senates" would have a couple powers: 1) They would be able to set minimums and maximums that those on their color could charge on the global market. They could say steel goes for no less than $1K from nations on Yellow, etc. 2) They would have the power to embargo other colors on the global market. For example, we'll say most colors have minimums set on the resources they sell. All of the sudden Blue decides they're going to promote economic prosperity by removing their limits and letting resources get sold for as low as people will sell them on blue. Green could embargo blue, removing the ability for Green nations to buy/sell resources on the global market to blue nations. These Senates would need a 2/3 majority to make any decisions (changing caps on resources or putting sanctions on another color). Now, the next cool part of this idea is the Rainbow Council. The Rainbow council would be comprised of 20 members - 2 from each color. They would have similar powers, but with farther reaching effects. They could set minimums for all resources (like food goes for no less than $85/unit, or whatever) with a 3/4 supermajority (at least 15 nations). The Rainbow Council's limits on trading would supercede any limits imposed by the individual Color Senates. Now, this could be something that isn't used, or it could be something that alliances compete/cooperate for. It's all in the hands of the players, really, and thus is very dynamic and promotes more politics (and war). Now I specifically only mentioned global trades, you would still be able to trade with anyone at any prices through alliance/personal trades, so keep that in mind. It has power, but not so much power that those elected have absolute control over everyone else. Feedback?
  2. Let me know if it happens again, in the meantime I'll try to duplicate it myself.
  3. That last site: http://nvd3.org/examples/pie.html has got some really cool chart functionality. I might have to see about switching over the charts we use to those ones at some point.
  4. Seems like an unnecessary complication to me, why make things harder/trivial when they don't need to be? That's just my opinion, anyway.
  5. BoxcarJim is most likely on the right track, Steel does require both Iron and Coal to be manufactured.
  6. You must be mistaken, the game doesn't count being kicked off beige to gray as a color change (at least not from being on beige for the limit).
  7. This is a good suggestion, and something I've started on. Chances are I'll miss some pages, so if you see a page that looks like it should have it's own title post in here and let me know about it.
  8. Updated. You must have 3 posts to get the bonus.
  9. It should've been fixed by now (since my post) Coach.
  10. Is it possible you actually logged in and got the first bonus on the day before?
  11. See: http://politicsandwar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/2491-no-money-given-at-1000-turn/ Not a game bug, but a server hosting issue. I've opened multiple tickets about this already, might just have to find a different host.
  12. It's not a bug, it's an issue with the people who host the P&W server and there's literally nothing I can do about it but complain to them to fix it.
  13. Gah! I will try once against to squash this pesky bug.
  14. It likely has something to do with your ISP. Can you post a screenshot of the error screen?
  15. The SK flag must be rather old, then, as I use imgur for all links nowadays as those last and I don't have to worry about people manipulating the images. Shoot me a new link sometime soon and I'll take care of it (you'll have to update the edit screens on the nation/alliance pages).
  16. When I get home I will fix it to make sure you trigger an error if you go over the limit.
  17. I don't think it's crashing -- in fact I think it's booming. Check out the average trade price history: http://politicsandwar.com/nation/trade/history/ The price has gone up significantly in the past two days, and I'm guessing the lack of trade offers available is from consumers buying up the sell offers so quickly. Looks like a good time to be selling coal to me.
  18. Bug ought to be fixed. Thanks Prefontaine.
  19. I'll see what I can do. Should be updated to 1,600 characters.
  20. Remember it also takes 7 warning points before you're even banned from the forums, so we've got a very lenient system in place.
  21. It's entirely possible, but I don't know why you would want it, since someone could simply post a buy offer for X resource at ${insert low price here} to really skew things, etc.
  22. Welcome to Politics & War! Glad to see a new face, how'd you find out about P&W?
  23. I'm aware, that's why I said that Ukraine needs to join EU/NATO. The latter part of my post about Ukraine was more in response to vincentsum8's post.
  24. I responded to your PM about this, money isn't magically appearing in anyone's bank. That money was from previous transactions that were removed when the 5 exploiter nations were removed, and it was my fault for not adjusting their bank balance accordingly (which I've now fixed).
