Buck Turgidson
1 Wind power plant 4 factories 5 mines City says that it is unpowered. But the mines don't need power. Does this matter? Ashland
I'll take a stab at this. Yeah, mines don't need power, but you have to power EVERYTHING. So if you have 600 infrastructure you need two power plants. Windmills only power 250 infrastructure. Now, if your city is small you're often better off NOT powering it and just producing resources for that reason. Buck Turgidson
Ok, but when I look at my revenues, it seems to be producing. Am I missing something? TheNG
Mines don't require power, so they'll produce resources with or without it. But your city is unpowered because the power plant can't power it all, as Ashland said. You could either get another power plant to power your city, or you could get rid of the power plant altogether and go full resource production. Buck Turgidson
But it looks like the factories are powered - what is the effect if they don't have power? 1 Quote Are you originally from Earth, too? Buck Turgidson
Is that it? Does it only affect the tanks factories in that city? I don't have any. Grillick
I'm sorry, I mistakenly assumed you were using the word "factory" to refer to the building "factory." If you do not have power for your "oil refinery," your "steel mill," and your 3 "aluminum refineries," those buildings will not produce gasoline, steel, or aluminum, respectively. Also, !@#$ you for making me actually look at your nation to figure out what you were asking, you jerk. 1 Quote "It's hard to be a team player when you're omnipotent." - Q
Atzuya
@Buck In here we don't use the word factory to refer to the production facilities. Try to use the word refineries to avoid confusion in the future In this game, you either power all the infrastructure or power none at all. If your power plants fail to meet the infrastructure total you have in a city, everything that needs power to function will shutdown. Your refineries will not consume any resources and they won't spit out anything in return. I'd suggest switching to Oil power, you'll save more improvement slots that way

Should I call it a Munition Production Facility from now on? Anyhow it seems to report the production in the Revenue page, but the resources don't show up. Quote Are you originally from Earth, too? WISD0MTREE
What about commerce buildings like banks/supermarkets ? Do they need power ? Yes. Everything but raw resource producers need power. Anyhow it seems to report the production in the Revenue page, but the resources don't show up. Your whole city has to be powered for the resources to be produced. Even the mines. King Wally
So if I have a city with just raw basic mines (coal etc) it wont need power at all to chug along and do it's thing right?
