  1. Today we discovered that "Seal"'s hit song kiss from a rose has always been misheard. "Baby, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey". Was always meant to be "Baby, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the plane." That's all for today folks.
  2. They increase the "National Tax Revenue" yes. They however don't affect the "Weighted Average Income" or the "National Tax Rate". Those two modifiers are purely cosmetic (and inversely affect eachother as Jaden said). For a nation of your size however, I would recommend other sources of revenue. Mainly raw resource production [but not food!] and raiding should be considered. You should join an alliance and ask them for further help on this matter :).
  3. Everything in that top bar was added after the bulk import feauture was a thing. Nobody just ever thought it should be there because we were used to having it diffrently. If people don't suggest it, it's hard to see "mistakes" in design after you've used it for ages.
  4. This is in fact incredibly cool. Good job TKR, this is the kind of thing i'd like to see more off
  5. This is a really simple suggestion. Instead of going to your cities and clicking loads of times to bulk import city builds there should be a button at the top of the cities page (see screenshot). That's all folks
  6. Heya @Alex i know this comment has been done but have you looked at zig's suggestion in the meanwhile? I feel it is a lot better of a suggestion to make people decide themselves if they want scrollbars on other people's nation pages. Otherwise people can still annoy eachother by making them long and not have a hide button (mainly on mobile i'd imagine, as @Indrasi Indoril mentioned). If a nation description is long and im in a war id just like to hide it instead of some weird scrolling shenanigans. I don't think this would be too difficult, and i feel like it would really help. Thanks for looking into it.
  7. At which point does it fair game to "Warn" these people to edit their nation description or lose it in let's say one month after getting a warning in dm?
  8. I'm just in time to meet my annual Quota of "Ships needs buff" post. So here is the slight suggestion: When airstriking ships, ships should count as 2.5 defending "planes" in the formula. War Ships have guns that shoot planes, this isn't some huge new invention it's just a thing that exists. The damage done to the ships should remain the same. Why? Well here is a short list: This would make airstriking ships less valuable (and naval striking ships more valuable). This would make boats more valuable, and seeing their price i believe they deserve a bit of a buff. Make it more interesting to defend a war. A C30 can have 450 ships (5*3*30) and 2250 planes (15*5*30). If a C30 with max Planes attacks a C30 with max Ships (and no planes) the succes rate for an immense triumph would be around 92%, so it wouldn't compeltly change the meta in that regard. The attacker would lose (this might be somehwat innacurate, I might have !@#$ed the math, please tell me id i did) on average 60-70 planes, the defender between 35 and 40 ships. Still a profitable trade net damage wise. The C30 might be able re rebuy for a long time, but that would cost a !@#$ ton of money and once peopel focus him he is screwed. The real change would happen when the defender still has planes too, airstriking ships when the enemy still has planes would hurt like a !@#$. That's all, it's a minor change, but one I like, thanks for comming to my ted talk. Ps: if the 2.5 would be too strong the number could go down and vice versa, just giving an idea here.
  9. Howdy comrades! People do be complaining about lack of dynamism and competition etc, they need more in game factors to really drive themselves to the limit. Originally a long time ago treasures were added for this exact reason but we all know what happend to those bastards (cough treasure island, cough nerfed to oblivion..). Now I propose to you, annual competitions. Those would be on an individual level and on an alliance level. These competitions will measurue objective stats. They won't be decided by voting, or by opinion polls. Seeing the prizes would be limited to a few people / alliances, (I'd say the top three of every category but we can be more generous), I believe the prizes should be generous. They should also be generous because people should really want to fight for them. The prizes could take shape as a flat "prize" (for example the winner gets 500K Aluminium), or as a bonus for the complete next year (for example the winner deals 10% more damage with airstrikes.) I wish to note that the prize numbers i listed here are purely hypothetical and had no thought put in them, please don't focus on them. To keep the competition fair and interesting the leaderboards should be publicly displayed at all times, so people / alliances know how much better they have to do than the competition; or if they really want a prize, because said prize is big enough, know who to completly demolish in a war. Individual Competitions Individual compeitions would reward the individual nations that manage to get the best stats in certain categories. Those categories can be decided if we decide this is a good idea, they can also potentially change every year if you want to make it more dynamic, although I don't think this is necessary. Ideas of the top of my head would for example be: most damage dealt, most money raided, most treasures stolen, most looted from alliance banks, most wars won.. Concerns The main concern here might be that certain whales will have a complete dominance in some categories. If we for example look at "Most damage dealt", this is a stat that directly benefits big nations. I have two potential solutions to this issue: we want to make the competition "damage dealt per city", although this would still benifit whales (because there is more infra at those tiers), it would at least make it more fair. The other solution would be to look at what city everyone is at the beginning of the year (or whenever they make their nation) and place them in "categories". These would be much like weight categories in boxing, you are only competing with people around your city count at the beginning of the year. There is also a third possible "solution" and that is to say that it's fine for whales to always win these categories. I personally di not subscribe to that belief, because I want everyone to have a shot at it, but it's possible. Other concerns here are mainly of a technical nature, mainly that the stats need to be tracked properly. Something that is important if you want to make a real competition out of it. Alliance wide Competitions These competitions would be aimed at alliances. Some of the competitions could be "stolen" from the individual categories, for example "most money raided". Some could be made more interesting. Prize wise they should be higher than individual competitions if the reward is a flat prize, but lower if it's a bonus. (Giving an individual 500K aluminium is a whole lot, giving an alliance 500K aluminium is nice, but in the end not worth the effort. Giving an individual a 15% increased income is very nice, but ultimately it's just one person, giving an alliance a 15% increased income is absolutely broken.) Concerns The first concern in alliance wide competitions would be the same as with the individual prizes but bigger. If you just do "Damage dealt" in total there are maybe 5 alliances who stand a chance and they'd know it at the beginning of the year. I believe fun should be for all so we should give more alliances a shot at winning. It isn't that easy however, if you then go to "Damage per member" you basically get the same issue as with individual competitions. Alliances with older (or at least higher tiered) members become the ones who are going to win. (Another risk you take is "one man alliances" who are protected by other alliances.) So what I suggest here would be to make "classes" based on which rank alliances are on the leaderboard. Concern two would be people alliance hopping for a short amount of time (close to the end fo the competition) to collect their prize and go back or other shenanigans like that. My solution here would be quite easy. To recieve your bonus (flat prizes would go direclty to the bank), you have to have been in the alliance that recieves the bonus for at least half the time of the competition. (Unless you are a new nation in which case an exception would exist). The concern with the last solution would be tthe alliance seniority counter working but let's forget about that for now. The end I'm aware this is a very rough outline for an idea, but I believe that if polished up and executed well it would bea very interesting way to make the game more dynamic and potentially more competitive. All ideas here are not final, and just somethign i quickly thought up in the free time i had in the past few weeks. Thank you for comming to my ted talk, let me know if there are any questions or suggestions.
  10. Seems like we need better definitions then.
  11. What are the criteria for a war to be a global in your opinion?
  12. PNW players be like: Having a life. Waging war on christmas! (probably) --- Best of wishes to my clock brothers May the best win.
  13. I don't think that's fair. Then the point is to take advantage of he bonuses you get when you get them. Now I won't mind if we don't get them, and I don't expect these types of events to exist, but i don't think if they're interesting enough that's a fair counter point.
  14. All that needs to be said. In addition to people that are winning would just need to spam fortify.
  15. bruh. so many options. If it keeps going like this we should just do one of those "brackets" and make a real event out of it lmao.
  16. I call bs, and even if that statistic was true, it doesn't matter. The creator of NS isn't alex, and alex shouldn't (and i know he won't) steal from others.
  17. This is how i understand it too, with the exception if you actively try to circumvent the word filte. For example say you want to say a word starting with an "f" that happens to be filtered it wouldn't be allowed to replace the "f" by an "ƒ". Seems reasonable
  18. :-) ❤️ Your positivity is duly noted. Let's hope more alliances reach that milestone in 2022
  19. don't steal. If the community + game design team isn't creative enough to make their own event they should have events anyway.
