  1. That would be good. Something like: Achievement Name: War Happy Achievement Description (how to unlock): Declare 10 wars before reaching 10 cities
  2. Every now and then the drop-down table showing my resources is wider than my phone screen, so I have to scroll across to see the actual amounts. Which means I can't see the resource type and the amount at the same time To anticipate the obvious question, no I hadn't resized the screen at all prior to this happening I have a screenshot but it is too big to upload. Edit - it seems to be the case if I check my resources from the baseball screen, rather than any other
  3. The basic problem with the war system is that if you're attacked by multiple players employing any form of coordination then you can't buy back enough military forces per day to recover. Aircraft make such a win simpler for the attacker, but the same result would occur if aircraft were as single-focussed as naval & ground. Having a % of aircraft losses to AA fire would be nice, but in a typical dog pile war would not actually help unless they were very high indeed. Obvious example, I currently have 3 defensive wars, in the opening attacks my opponents dropped me from 1400ish aircraft to 400ish. I can buy under 300 per day. There is no possible way to recover. They are now effectively free to airstrike at will, but take out the option of hitting tanks, troops and ships by air and they would simply run coordinated naval and ground attacks with the same result as they had against my aircraft.
  4. If you're simply an alliance member, like myself, it is easy not to notice any war you are not involved in. The only people it directly impacts are the poor food producing nations, whose yield is effected by all them nukes
  5. Call me silly, but tanks* do already help against aircraft. You get Ground Control over your opponent then 1/3 of their airforce is grounded. Which is quite useful if you're fighting an 'aircraft only' opponent That being said, I do agree with the general idea that airstrikes shouldn't be invulnerable if you have no airforce. There has to be some % loss through AA * well, ground units as a whole but tanks are the most powerful of those
  6. I'm a casual baseball player. When I log in I'll typically clear any Away Games and then host a Home Game. Sometimes when bored I play a little longer. I was always a bit frustrated at the hoop-jumping and waiting involved with Captcha, but now I also have to wait for a screen-cracking advert to load and then scroll down to find how far the 'play' button has moved. Really puts me off what was once quite an enjoyable part of the game.
  7. I would disagree, life would be boring is everybody ended up with exactly the same list of achievements
  8. Projects to improve production of raws seems like a good and fair idea. Might alter the current meta that you produce raws while small then move on to manu when you get big enough.
  9. I thought that might be the case. Shame, really.
  10. Weed does tend to mess your brain up if you are a bit susceptible to mental health problems. I have a few friends who overdid it and are now, frankly, a bit strange
  11. Achievement Name: Dang Hippy Achievement Description (how to unlock): Reach 10 cities without declaring a war
  12. I wonder how much he has lost at Keno... Yes it spawns money but it also takes it away
  13. It would be very interesting to see money made/lost at Keno and Dice.
  14. According to Alex's initial post when he raised the possibility of nerfing baseball, one player had earned 2% of the total cash in-game. Admittedly the earning per player fell away quite steeply after the top few, but still it makes you realise the earning potential of baseball if you really go for it
  15. Automatic war declarations? Interesting idea, but given fluctuations in NS etc it probably wouldn't work half the time, as otherwise you could easily end up auto-declaring on somebody outside your war range
  16. I always assumed the idea was that you have to pay out if you want the bigger profits.
  17. Absolutely please undo this. It's only removed one touch, as everything on the top-of-screen quick link thingy is right there in the menu anyway. And it makes keeping track of your stocks (rather important at any time, but especially when at war) a pain in the butt
  18. There are all sorts of problems with comparing RL factory production to life here in Orbis. Firstly, Soviet and American factories in WW2. American factories were very much more efficient than Soviet ones, but Soviet factories were truly gigantic in scale, often formed of multiple factories being combined together after the move east. Plus, although there may only have been 10 Soviet tank construction factories there were many many factories producing components that were then sent to these mega-factories. In terms of aircraft numbers, trainers are not the only non-combat types. Transports, reconnaissance, and communications aircraft made up around a third of US WW2 aircraft production for example. Secondly, WW2 to today. Obviously, modern military production numbers are relatively fewer than WW2 numbers, which could be interpreted in Orbis terms as peacetime military vs wartime military (not every alliance follows such a process though). However it is also true that modern weapons are very much more complex and expensive, meaning a longer production time, higher costs per unit and their assembly cannot be undertaken by a relatively unskilled workforce, unlike WW2-era equipment. Given that technology does not change in Orbis, and given that different nations do not have different workforces/traditions/government types that meaningfully impact production/etc etc I can't see how there can't be a difference between Orbis and RL. Mind you, as I've been typing this I've realised that although I can nitpick at some of your detail, your original hypothesis still stands.
  19. I quite like the idea, but it could complicate International Relations very quickly. I want to spark a war. I launch a black flag op against someone and assign some nation from a hostile aa as the fall guy. Either I get to sabotage them effectively (making them wary anyway) or I increase tension between those two alliances. Win-win
  20. Achievement Name: Boba Fett Achievement Description (how to unlock): Collect a Bounty
  21. Just remove beige nation access to banking, make it a bit like they are blockaded
  22. Tanks are very handy if you're wanting loot.
  23. I'm tempted to debate the realism note, but that is a massive sidetrack
  24. Honestly I don't like this idea. If you're looking for raid targets, you don't want to draw attention to a good one. If you're at war, any halfway competent alliance / coalition will be Intel-sharing anyway.
