  1. As this forum is OOC, my post is also OOC. This is an open question to the people in Guardian and Grumpy Old Bastards. If you do not want to play by the rules, why play at all? What is the point of cheating in a browser sim? This is a game and as such the challenge is in beating the game, not cheating. Isn't it enough that you declared war on my PW alliance with twice the cities and tons of extra support if needed? You clearly played the PW politics game well. Opportunism in your timing of your hit is good strategy. Making sure you would win before you attacked is good strategy and commonplace here. Large use by people in Guardian and some GOB to use Ordinary wars to minimize damage is perfectly fine. But why try to minimize destruction with game exploits? Would you like us to just give you our nations? Would you like us to just stop nuking you? Is that what you are after here? People in Guardian and Grumpy, but mostly Guardian used a game exploit where we couldn't select the city we wanted to be nuked. No matter what we selected, it would nuke the city that a person in Guardian wanted based on infra (and they knew how to rig it well), and it would just nuke that city over and over again when they rebought infra or nuke the weakest cities with the least population. They knew about this exploit, very clearly, by looking at their city builds. If not caught it would've left Guardian and Grumpy Old Bastards much less destroyed. I think it did factor into their decision to attack us, knowing their destruction would be greatly minimized. No real economic problems other than 1 city and infra cost vs. large-scale city improvement destruction and few economic penalties. It makes for a pretty huge difference. But mostly they knowingly used game exploits to avoid damage when they already had more than enough firepower to win and we all know they have plenty of cash to rebuild. The other exploit they are using is being fixed by Alex, so I will not bring up the details right now to prevent it's further use against us. So to the people in Guardian and Grumpy Old Bastards, is that really the way you want to play? When people cheat, usually the other people leave. Is this what you want? Do you want Alpha to just quit the game? Even now we are going to have many members leave the game over this. Is that what you wanted by cheating? I might just leave myself, not sure I want to play a game that has constant exploits and people like you who use them to your advantage against weaker parties. Also: After thinking about this long and seeing the responses, I've also made a suggestion that I think will make the game more inline with the community here. I've made a suggestion to remove nukes from the game. Again, being serious, I think it's for the best and the community is definitely in support of removing nukes:
  2. This is not a joke post. It's not sarcastic. I'm 100% serious. This is also an OOC forum, those in some alliances please keep this OOC as I am doing. My suggestion is to remove nukes from the game. The community clearly doesn't like them and they are causing much annoyance, including people figuring out exploits to basically eliminate their damage. The community doesn't want any type of catch-up mechanic to help the losing side. Just remove it. The losers lost, let them lose hard and let the winning side get stronger and take less damage. No point in giving the losers any type of advantage, they lost the politics part of the game, why should they get helped in the war-front with deterrents? Also greatly increase the downdeclare range and maybe increase defensive slots, although 1v3 is enough to completely waste a nation and prevent a comeback without (political) help. Again, the game is more about politics and wars are won before they even start. So make the politics side more vibrant, but don't give losers any advantage. Again, I'm serious here. I can site hundreds if not thousands of users who want these changes. Listen to the community.
  3. I must be seeing those and your EMC buddies who have used it quite a bit, especially the really big whales in Guardian.
  4. We sat *one* war because both sides had rolled us in the past. The long period of inactivity was because EMC/TKR just sat and did nothing and gummed up the works with secret treaties. Your last part just doesn't make any sense, more dmg > less dmg bro. Attrition vs. Ordinary is fine and Kosmo's got like quite a few rounds in him, and on the flip side, it makes attackers have to think twice about how much they want to pixel hug. I find that funny.
  5. Yes, because all of those people don't have shitloads of other defensive wars and TKR isn't like 4 times as big as Fark with tons of extra back-up for round 2, 3, 4, etc. Those are some blinders you got on.
  6. Both Alpha and SA are tightly tiered. We were on friendly terms with both you and Guardian and last war we almost entered for/with Guardian, receiving a request from Guardian. There were no tensions. You attacked us because you thought our other allies were occupied and you want to be the biggest whales in the game. It's pretty cut and dry mate. It's a good short-term strategy. There is no harm in just admitting that you are EMC supporting opportunists. Nearly every war in this game is based on opportunism. The game now has a very clear 3rd sphere and that's good for it. You guys tried to hide that you were a sphere with secret treaties and now you don't have to hide anymore. Feels good doesn't it?
  7. This is rich, coming from the alliance that declared lots of "Ordinary" wars to limit the damage you took. If you find me one non-Attrition war that SA declared, I'll give you a even bigger teddy bear to pixel hug onto.
  8. Don't lose all your ships on day 1 then. We can't win with you guys. First it's "all you do is nuke" and now it's "why aren't you nuking".
  9. We didn't attack them, we were attacked. When you are dogpiled by double to triple (and more in reserve) your number of cities, there isn't much of a choice bro. I've said over and over again, we go conventional and nukes are an insurance policy if we are outgunned so heavily there was never a chance for a conventional victory. Or is your strategy send 500 planes to try to knock out 2400 and *hope* you can win? That sounds pretty solid man. Please tell me how what your winning strategy is when you have 3 defensive wars from people with far more cities than you? Sheesh, some people thought TKR was going to hit you. If that ever happens I'm going to keep your quote.
  10. Who's the salty one again? Usually capslock is a good indicator, right?
  11. It's going to be so hilarious when you realize what a psycho lolbrok is and how he's having to keep it in his pants for "strategy" reasons.
  12. Whoa man, lets keep this IC bro. Some people 'round here get a bit touchy when we break the 4th wall like that.
  13. I mean, bro, you aren't over 691 days old. Most of our identify and history dates back to this and earlier. I have a reminder city, lol. I paid like $5.8b for it according to someone who is really bad at math. https://politicsandwar.com/city/id=64360 How about Nuclear Knights? Yea, that's a pretty silly name, amirte?
  14. All hail the Nuke Gods. Upvoted the first 3 replies, b/c of mates and 3.12 Fraggles is hilarious unit of measure. Betulius, that good trolling shit right there. And just for the record, just let us have our culture of nukes. Not everything has to be about the most efficient strategy or how useless nukes are or everyone has 10m food in the bank. Some people like their Knights culture, some people like to be Commies, we like to talk about radiation. RP-hard. I see how someone might say this. But you need to look back in our history young grasshopper. Alpha was apart of the longest war in PW history (correct me if a future war was longer) and Fark, NK, and Alpha have been at constant states of war and alert for a lot of their history. Sure, recently, as with *every single PW alliance* we have just sat. But if you are referring to the that last war, in Alpha's case, I figured we earned the right to sit out *one war* since you know....none of our allies were fighting.
  15. Congrats Pantheon. DB are fine folk. (Yoda, sell all your food before the market plunges, Kangastradomus says so)
  16. Congrats to you both, including all the fine people in both your alliances....and Kosmo.
  17. Congrats you sexy people. Also NB isn't a MADP, it's a MoADP, but it's better to just say we are bros. In this game treaties don't really matter because anyone can have secret treaties and all that bullshit. And NB alliances can sign outside allies without them being in NB, as we are all sovereign.
  18. I'm pretty scared of Fark tho. Think they want to beat our 60 days.
  19. Congrats to you both. I've always been a fan of a starter optional level treaty and moving towards MDP.
  20. Classy as always Polaris. Best of luck to you both.
  21. You guys really do have a very solid theme and style I can appreciate.
  22. This is why leaders don't usually spitball or plot about who to attack like this. Kastor, get Roq and Grub on the line and listen to everything they tell you until you've memorized it. Then write it down and form a religion around it. It will serve you well.
  23. There are anti-Seb people in Orbis? Where? He's one of the nicest guys here.
  24. Best of luck in your new direction. You and Guardian have always been extremely solid in the war-front and sad to see a treaty like this go, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Not sure this adds or takes away anything as far as the stagnation goes. I've found that paperless does not actually add "Dynamism™" to the game because everyone just assumes you have lots of secret treaties. The whole problem is no one wanted to step up and be seen as the bad evil aggressor and roll smaller alliances. No one wanted to cultivate any grudges and act upon them. I guess part of the reason is how brutal this game was on the losing side and all the character assassination attempts that were made pre-war and post-war and that reluctance for anyone to do anything for fear they'd be next and have years of FA torn apart and years afterwards. I digress.... Sorta wonder if the evolution of these games has run it's course. Took another game 5-8 years, took this game 1-2, lol.
  25. Congrats to you two, ignore the whole consolidation is evil bullshit....not sure why people get so up in arms over sphere alliances who get close enough to sign treaties. Seems pretty normal to me. It's also not why the game is what it is today. Best of luck to you both.
