You of all people should know that no one ever "wins" these games. -
Market manipulation and why it doesn’t work on Orbis
Placentica replied to Placentica's topic in Game Discussion
You better embargo this guy. Don't worry I embargoed him when I noticed he wasn't "value trading material". TISK TISK! -
Welcome! PW > (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways). You'll love this game if you like (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways).

Food is crazy high. Is that just b/c most nations are in the northern hemisphere?

I think that all jobs should pay a decent wage and we all know McD's is making a ton of low-wage employees - I just don't think gov. should be involved in anything business related. The problem is people *do* think $8/hr is an okay wage, otherwise they wouldn't work the job. If it's the only job they can find it's just a case of supply meeting demand. When you raise worker wages all you do is create inflation. We have a near-0 inflation situation (last I checked a few months ago, maybe that's changed) but yet workers still expect routine raises in pay - which in the past was just to keep up with inflation, but now is creating it to a small extent.
-
Free market all the way. People should feel obligated to not work any job where the pay is sub-standard. You want to see what a free market looks like? Go to Wiliston, ND and get a job at McD's or Walmart - you get paid well over $15 an hour since demand outweighs supply. Don't want employers to hire at $8, don't work that job so they have to raise pay in order to fill job openings.

itt UPN Treaty Logic See they don't even believe what they say anymore. Since UPN claims TAC are the aggressors it would make TEst's entrance on the oA side, you know optional. So I think what UPN is saying is that they admit to be the aggressors and TEst should MDP in, right?

The War of Defensive Aggression - I like this one, made me laugh.

Anyone Want To Explain the War That Broke Out?

No you went to war because if EoS gets owned it makes your whole bloc look bad and weakens you. Truth is that it made your bloc look way worse when you had to bail out EoS for a war it started. -

Wrong. If EoS hadn't sucked so bad at war, they'd easily be the #1 alliance right now. And yes, people go to war to reclaim the #1 spot all the time. You clearly haven't played many other browser political games. -
I would love to see the statistics of EoS vs. TAC before UPN/DEIC entered. Those are more interesting than the obvious.

Market manipulation and why it doesn’t work on Orbis
Placentica replied to Placentica's topic in Game Discussion
I have no issues with people not trading with me. I too don't try to trade with alliances I feel are hostile towards mine. But I don't need an embargo to do this. I just do it naturally. And there is the hypocrisy of DEIC/VoC members doing the same thing as me. It's interesting how after the VoC embargo and my post that 2-3 people who do what I do, got booted out of their alliance and were told to stop their trading methods, hindering their nation growth. I'm not a fan of VoC leadership strong-arming nations in allied alliances to stop doing something VoC themselves do. -
Quality post for your $100,000 bonus.

$150 is quite high, but it was pushing $100 pre-war and $75 was a steal. What will make the markets interesting is there does come a time when it's actually better to buy most of these things, followed by a time when you should produce everything because you have so many slots after you hit 100% commerce. But that inbetween period should make a good market for everyone.

Yea it's a nice graphic. Some nice color to the page too. Should think about doing google type banners, maybe not daily, but weekly or whatever you had time for.

$30 - $3,750,000 is the perfect amount as was $1.25M last month which seemed really big back then too. This month 3.75m is still big enough to make it attractive for big nations. If it were like $5-6m that is prob. too much. And for young nations it can allow them to catch up and get another city (or two).
