Yeah the alliances that were lied about were not World Task Force. Granted, it's a bit disingenuous to claim them not being defended is proof of anything, you guys were under a nap and despite public protestations to the contrary were not about to break it. The alliances that were lied about were Carthago and Knights Templar, which when factored in with all the various offshoots and peripheral ties that were collected, made you by far the largest sphere, and certainly larger than Florida. It also refers to numerous comments made after the fact when we responded to it. If you wanted to make a CB out of us memeing on you, perhaps you should have done that. You chose to bring out of game context shit into an IC war for whatever reason, and I object to that. Trying to dismiss it when it was literally included in your CB is weird though. Yet again another example of you making CB's you didn't need to. Now you are rewriting history. It was cited multiple times the primary reason you hit them was because they were going to sign us. You guys went as far to include a reference to us in the naming of the war. But I'll let your own words speak for you. You seem to forget you made the clear declaration at the time exactly why you did it, there was no ambiguity, you took out someone who was planning to sign a rival in the future, in order to win a future conflict. Yes, you placed our peace as being contingent on gaining peace with another entity. The part you are omitting is you refused to even share any terms with us until this was done. We were not given any indication submitting to your will would result in peace at all, merely hand you more leverage in negotiations down the line. Simply put, you did it to !@#$ with us, as there would be no reason to withhold terms of peace until AFTER we peaced out WTF other than if you intended to then smack us with more shit, and wanted them out of the way first. I certainly hope Penta or TFP doesn't have any incredibly ridiculous terms to enforce upon you, I would of course have to make sure you satisfied all their enquiries first, before we could consider peace. Fair is fair after all. Actually no, our affairs involved attacking Knights Templar. You became our target when your sphere chose to reveal it's hand by protecting them. I can lecture you all you like, when you stand on a soapbox and pretend you are above reproach. The only difference between us is my attempts to sign people succeeded and yours failed. Twice.

Did Tartarus post this DoW?

Can you find WANA? __________________________________________________________ Why? Oh Why? I’ve never been one for long-winded bloviating CB’s. I much prefer to shitpost. But in an effort to personally appease Roberts I will post my very important reasons for this declaration of war in a fat wall of text. Syndicate has engaged in large levels of blatant hypocrisy, repeatedly. After justifying an entry against Florida for “Hegemonic Sphere Creation” as they labelled it, and attempting to pressure Florida to separate, they proceeded to consolidate a sphere significantly larger than Florida ever was, the largest sphere in the game by a wide margin, and continuously lied about the size and members of that sphere, up until the moment they no longer could. They used this sphere to intimidate and pressure other alliances, through hard power, trying to isolate their main rival, Singularity, for an easier attack. After helping to interject and disrupt our own plans, preventing us from settling legitimate scores with other alliances, whilst their allies goaded conflict with us, we were left with no choice but to mount a pre-emptive suicide attack. Despite our primary opposition in the previous war being one of their allies, and not them, Syndicate revealed the depths of their animosity by deciding to make themselves the center of attention, choosing to be the driving force behind the narrative attacks on Singularity. Syndicate positioned themselves at the forefront, attempting to shape the storyline. They launched an attempted smear campaign on Keegoz, making baseless claims of design team bias without evidence, which they then proceeded to double down on, until the falseness of their claims was clearly established. This on it’s own would have been enough to establish Syndicate’s vindictive disposition towards us, but they chose to cross an even further line, by attacking The Fighting Pacifists, solely for engaging in diplomacy with us, for a future treaty that was being actively discussed, and wouldn’t have been inked until AFTER the current war was finished. Examining the logic of this decision, it’s clear their intent. By striking a future ally, they hoped to weaken us further for a future conflict, whilst the current one was still ongoing. They wished to further isolate us with the threat of force against anyone who would dare sign us, after pressuring us to separate from Florida, and then consolidating themselves. They were preparing for a conflict against us that was yet to come, all whilst dragging out the current conflict for as long as possible, playing games to delay the conflict as long as they wanted. In short, they sought to keep us in a state of permanent isolation and war. Well. We saw how that ended. Not exactly the finale you were hoping for. Now all these months later, I have to express some amusement at how things have turned out. How spectacularly that attempt backfired, and how avoidable this fate was, had you simply stayed out of our affairs, and not drawn our attention to you. Now with all your options exhausted, all your attempts to sign other majors and build coalitions against us thwarted (Yes we know about those too), and apparently, all your allies gone, the long trail of lies and double dealing with everyone have left you back where it all started. I will enjoy reading any parallels drawn between the accusations I’ve levied above, and the movements of Singularity over these past months. Because it was no accident. Each time you breach the rules of engagement, you put another weapon in my arsenal. I will happily meet you at the new line, and use the tools you give me, against you. I was content to settle petty scores with alliances who had done us dirty, but you’ve forced me to play politics once more. Well, here we go again. Darkest Hour Deux

Roberts this thread would be way more interesting if you just started insulting other alliances like I suggested.

Singularity officially declares it's indifference to this particular development. After much consideration we have no public comments on these particular events. We have investigated the specific circumstances involved in the above post, and have decided further investigation is not required. Roberts am I doing this right?

Well you have a future career in FA with a complete bs answer like that at least.

I like the flag, although, I feel like you should have done it without putting the name of the alliance in it. That's never a good idea.

Double Missile/Nuke Build Costs & Require Min. 1,000 Infra to Build
Sketchy replied to Alex's topic in Game Suggestions
Rarely do the implemented mechanics in this game ever work out as they are intended. As always the player base experiments through to the logical meta, which is usually not what was expected by development. The reality is nukes have for better or worse have become the primary tool with which a losing alliance can deal damage. Until a superior replacement is implemented, nerfing them in order to counter nuke rogues, a very small contingent of the game, is an incredibly bad idea. Also just to note, the reason nukes haven't scaled well over time, obviously, is the inflation of the games economy. I think you yourself would be familiar with it, Grumpy pretty much started the upper tier arms race with the meta you created. Would be far better to simply cap city count to curtail many of these issues I would think. -
Double Missile/Nuke Build Costs & Require Min. 1,000 Infra to Build
Sketchy replied to Alex's topic in Game Suggestions
As always, mechanics that improve guerrilla warfare in ways that make these strategies less relevant/necessary are always preferable. I don't inherently disagree with the 1000 total infra requirement, but it seems kind of moot. Would be pretty easy for someone to build 1k total. Hell at c40 that's like 25 infra per city. -
Currently, city builds can only be changed individually or all at once. The whole system to change builds is incredibly awkward and dated. The following suggestions can help improve this. Templates The solution is to allow players to save city builds as templates. This would ideally be done by allowing players to save an existing city build as a template, and then apply it in a drop down menu to cities. A visual aid of city templates Mass Import Tool A mass import tool that functions similar to the mass infra/land tools, allowing you to change a dropbox next to the list cities and import across all cities. A visual aid of the Mass Template Tool These two small quality of life changes could make the management of builds considerably less tedious, and also open up avenues for mechanics in that future that encourage diversifying your builds from city to city, to make the economic systems in the game a little more interesting.

Game Development Discussion: Economic Balance Update
Sketchy replied to Keegoz's topic in Game Discussion
And this is the real issue. Food/Land is the only scaleable resource in the game. I'm a broken record at this point, but what the game needs is more longterm investments. We need more ways to build our nations tall, rather than wide. Even infra suffers from the same issue, there is an effective cap on maximum infra that exists, because generally speaking, the games war cycle happens in around 2-3 months. So only idiots purchase infra with ROI periods that extend much further than that. After c30, the ROI on cities is so incredibly low, you'll never see the money you invested back. The only reason to do it, is for increased military strength. Rather than constantly adjusting levers to fix the market, we should be looking at expanding and deepening the current economic mechanics in the game. They are so surface level that a single individual can manage 170 nations econ themselves, which is exactly what I'm doing. -
Game Development Discussion: Economic Balance Update
Sketchy replied to Keegoz's topic in Game Discussion
I think it would be best to allow the market to correct itself for a change, before tweaking consumption or production again. Some of the people hovering over the prices in the design team trying to pull levers to course correct need to relax a bit. The market right now is already super high, reducing consumption further will only exacerbate that. Even if we were going to course correct, not sure why manus need fixing, nor why we'd do it this way. Increasing costs is always the best way to approach this. --- Also the reason the food supply is so high, is the game has been at peace for a long period of time. Looking at the supply chart, during peace we generate about 50m food per day, and at 100% radiation, we consume about 50m per day. Politics can resolve that.
