Rereading this thread- Many say we need to tighten up the gun laws; others say we need to tighten up registration laws; the fact is we have and those do nothing except make more hoops to jump through for regular, normal, mentally healthy individuals who simply would like to plink a aluminum cans and occasionally eat some fine Wisconsin venison. it is also a bit creepy that uting a large amount of faith into a system that normally takes away liberties also has a list of those law-abiding citizens who own guns.The only benefit for this list is when a gun disappers in a robbery and shows up later, either being sold or sadly used in a robbery. Most, I stress most! guns used by criminals here in the US are not sold over the counter. Many come in through, oddly, Canada whose restrictions have created a fantastic Black Market with limited surveillance coming in through ports. Others of course come in through Mexico on a border pocketed by drug cartels. The largest bulk of criminal acquirement of guns is here in the US itself, back alley purchases, crooked cops(actually is surprisingly high) from their police storehouses, ex-military surplus from the back of a truck, I could go on. Where there is a need, there is a market to fill it.

So you are implying that in order for us to have an objective stance and believe in a set of universal morals for which every sentient living entity universally abides by, there must be a divine entity? And what is this about the "Nazi Eagle"? Rome used banners which also bore an Eagle. Byzantine soldiers also carried Eagle banners. Charlemagne also carried banners topped by an Eagle. The Italians did the same thing. The Turks did too. The Germans did as well in the 1st War. Just because the Nazis did as well does not make an Eagle emblem above a banner a "Nazi" thing. Technically the rate for violent crimes globally, the most violent nations are found in Africa and South America. The US has the highest crime rate, but the rates are more along the lines of drug use/possession/misdemeanors, which is starting to go down due to progressive policies opening up towards allowing possession of narcotics. Are you saying I stereotyped Christianity? Forgive me. I was sterotyping Fundamentalist Evangelical Christianity. I guess Catholics are an exception. Question then: Is there a particular sect of Catholicism that supports gay rights? Because the evolution deal is acceptable in Catholicism as long as one accepts a creator. Yet there is no papal decree for suporting gay rights.

Focus on the word "control". That is my issue with Gun "Control". Who is doing the controlling? The same people whose lives are protected by the same guns that would be "controlled", aka stripped away from the citizens right to possess. Politicians. Why give our politicians any more control than they already have stolen? It boggles my mind when people give respect and worship to professional criminals- who are willing to sacrifice every ounce of liberty and rights to people who make promises every two to four years just to get their vote and yet never keep them. So yeah, I abhor gun "control" and history shows those who give up their rights of defense always lose more in the long run.

I suggest that you study, and associate with, differing groups of people and their particulars- such as Anarchists, Libertarians, Socialists, Communists, and Democrats from around the globe and not just here in the US. You may find the Left-Right paradigm in the US is a bit misleading. The word "Libertarian" in many countries is synonymous with Anarchist, as well as there is a whole list of hyphens after the word "Anarcho-" that are readily available via google and wikipedia. Much kudos for the attempt. I hope you learn a ton!

Funny. Even Buddhism and most Heathens, Pagans and Wiccans beieve in Evolution. But the moment Christendom hears the word "Evolution" it is immediately gloves off and Bible history time to the Book of Genesis.
