I saw this quote in another thread, and thought it warranted conversation outside the scope of "get rid of bounties". Problem: bounties are limited in their value because the collection can be prevented through a blockade (either from a counter or the target) making the bounty useless. Solution: check against time instead of blockade to prevent most abuse: anyone who's war began before the bounty was placed cannot collect the bounty. Upside: bounties can be collected even if you're not winning everything. Abuse possibility: there is still the possibility to send substantial amounts of money through a blockade this way, but it would be delayed by a minimum of 27 turns which is more than enough for other people to compete for the prize.

What makes you think they're never used? There are currently 3 $100 million bounties out there, plus a pile over 30 million. In a global, the ones with bounties go first. Bounties get used, but rarely is the threshold met for someone to go rogue and face huge penalties for a single bounty. I like the idea of bounties being expanded, but that's kind of beside the point.

I highly disagree. Our naming conventions, in general, don't matter at best. Look at the current leader, Duck Hunt. What does that represent? Quack lost the war. Except its not a duck hunt because Quack were the pre-empters. While the previous winner, leaky faucet, was because it was started by another Sphinx leak. Dial up was so named because of the beginning of the war being the most ridiculously broken the games ever been. And why is it relevant? Because we called it that for 8 months. Why is NPO's last time relevant? Because it led to their disbandment? You're taking naming from the end instead of the beginning. War's don't need to be named in hindsight either. I understand your reference to ww1, but come on...these aren't life altering events. The names are half-memes either way.
