  1. All the drama aside, since I don't really have a stake in this one... Nights King wasn't in Pantheon when you hit them. He was still in tS.
  2. That'd require me to put in effort *continues yelling from his armchair*
  3. there are way more mishaps than just the ones you fixed. It sounds like you uhh... just arbitrarily grabbed nominations off the list?
  4. At last Rozalia's nemesis has fallen. The question beckons: Who now shall Rozalia turn his gaze upon?
  5. Try climbing But if you are arbitrarily making two "equal" sides (meaning that a third party creates them, neglecting any and all political history), that skips the entire political part which usually leads up to wars. But let's say something like this occurs and we now have two completely equal sides. It will only take 1 war or a !@#$ up or two on either side for the other side to pull ahead. At this point, you will see he world fall back into the *exact* same pattern which you currently complain about: Either: - One side wins and incurs an advantage coming out of the war - Losing side stays together. next war, winning side wins again; this time with a wider margin. Advantage grows - Repeat until collapse Or: - One side wins - Losing side splinters (to a larger or smaller degree) due to dissent over in-coalition !@#$ups/interactions - Next war, winning side consolidates victory over weakened losing sides. These aren't the solutions that will incentivise alternative gameplay. In that sense, syndisphere is the symptom. Not the problem. As for giving new faces a time in the center of attention: Nothing should be given. New faces can easily get into the center of attention, provided that they make the moves to get there. But people tend to prefer the safety of conforming to pre-existing structures, and therefore voluntarily end up following the major powers.
  6. Meh. I never had trouble finding controversy and or politics. If you sit around complaining and hoping things happen instead of trying to innovate and maneuver, you're part of the problem. As much as the supposed "hegemoney" is. And no, by that I don't mean "lol do something about it" so spare me the "omg they're too big" stuff. Alter your goals and ways. Think out of the box.
  7. > makes no sense because cities > I dont give much of a !@#$ about the war mechanics. The overarching politics are what interests me. Personally? If it were *just* about burning pixels in a spreadsheet sim in a vacuum, i'd be bored quick and quit.

  15. We all grow up with fantasies and dreams; with age old stories and myths about dragons, giants, talking animals, wizards and witches. As we grow up we are taught by our peers and by reality that they are no more than figments of our collective imagination, passed down from generation to generation. As our dreams of encountering the enigmatic forces of the fantasy world die, so does a small part of us. The small part that believes that anything is possible- that the world is but the setting for a never ending adventure staged solely for the innocent mind to live out these stories. Imagine being told about all these fascinating, inexplicable forces as a child, and learning that they do not exist. But just as you are about to find peace with the reality that the world is a shade dimmer than you had hoped, all that you thought you knew about reality comes crashing down around you. Your childhood folly comes dancing back to life as you are confronted with the revival of the very fantasy you had written off as the dreams of an imaginative kid. Yet here it is. This time real. Beckoning you. That small part of you; the piece of your soul of which you barely knew you'd lost it, comes dancing back to life as you process the realization that your world just permanently changed. Imagine having the ability to brew love potions or make objects levitate. Consider the prospect of altering the weather or making things grow. Think of the endless possibilities that come with being able to harness and manipulate the world around you as the protagonist in the stories you once secretly read from under your blankets did. Is this your opportunity to *become* the hero from the books? The thought is both electrifying and terrifying. The whirlwind of thoughts stemming from the notion that such an abstract thing as 'magic' exists may feel paralyzing. Imagine waking up the night following this grand revelation as an eleven-years old muggle-born boy with your bags packed. You are embarking on the scariest and most thrilling adventure of your life. The siren's call of the unknown has convinced you to heed the message delivered to you by an owl in the middle of the night and to leave your safe home-environment to explore this new reality alongside a complete stranger who proclaims to be a wizard. As you pace your way towards the station, a single tear trickles down your cheek. Fear, grief, excitement? You can't discern. Imagine being on your way to what feels like a non-existent destination to become something you still aren't sure exists. But with every step you take, the glimpse of hope and desire which was awakened inside your heart the moment you read the all-encompassing words that set you on this journey grows. Your insecurity fades and is replaced by anticipation. Your steps speed up. Your heart begins to race. Before you know it, you are sprinting down King's Cross station at an ungodly hour while your eccentric caretaker chases you under grunted protest. Imagine being told to run headfirst into a wall by a man you barely know, so you can continue your journey towards a magical school. Imagine being insane enough to follow those instructions, only to end up somehow running through the wall and ending up at "platform 9 3/4". It makes you wonder if insanity is now the norm. You are picked up for a transit which challenges everything you have ever known, and arrive at your destination; A gigantic structure made up of marvels untold with inhabitants who are anomalies in their own right. Before you move on to meet whatever awaits you, you look down at the piece of paper clasped in your hand. Now imagine all of this being real. Because it is. Magic exists. Hogwarts exists.
