You shouldn't be basing off of an assumption, for all we know this could have been a personal matter, Cobalt just wanting blood etc. If you're gonna "cut to the chase" be prepared for the consequences that come with it. If they believed Grealind to be such a monster than why would it come as a surprise? Surely they knew big bad Grealind would come for them. Well no one here is going to know the full story as the parties involved have no doubt had dialogue privately in the past that much is true, and even if they have divulged info to others that info is coloured by their bias. However Rose giving a protectorate is not a consequence, that would imply that Rose is some sort of police force helping out those who suffer injustice... I won't stretch the point by listing other alliances hard done Rose could have helped as the reason has been listed. Friends, thus they nabbed a protectorate that I would hope Rose would never consider in normal circumstances. Looking at the conduct that those involved have at times held themselves to it's not exactly painted Colbalt in a negative light. I can only assume Grealind/Colbalt believed they knew how the dialogue would go considering their opinions (rightly or wrongly) of the people involved and just cut to the chase. Pretty much this. History, past behavior, and general attitude can make proceeding straight to rolling the !@#$ out of someone eminently justifiable. Some people it's worth engaging in dialogue with. Some people it's not. Many people in this game fall into the latter category. Seriously though Ansom, do yourself a favor and stfu. Every time you post, Grealind and CC look better, which is impressive given the terms they handed out. Not surprised Rose took you in though. Fits their pattern.
