You can always change the nomination system to how Mensa does theirs. Set amount of nominations needed to be on the list instead of just one nomination. (We generally also include accepting the nomination but that wouldn't be fun for this)

I agree that's why I would suggest maybe 2 or 3 needed nominations and then slowly move up to 5 based on activity.

The problem I see is if I did that and the same amount of people do nominations as this one, that system wont work.

After looking over your thread it looks like 2 would be a good amount. I also like the idea of no self nominating. I know you think it won't work but the needed amount of nominations forces players to work together on getting shared nominations through and into a vote. Also it eliminates the large amount of bad choices.

 

If you wish to stick to your guns you can always just start cutting vote options before starting the vote. i.e I would of cut that worst alliance that is just a link based on who actually knows who that is and also if they just put a link then it was a bad nomination to start with. I also would of cut the Mensa HQ vs SAI war because it didn't really count as a war.

 

Ultimately these are just my suggestions and it's your call since these are your awards.
