unix or windows operate systems?

are windows base operate systems or unix based(Mac, Linux) operate systems better for desktop computers?

It's all a matter of one's taste and needs. If someone is happy with Ubuntu or OS X or Windows 10, more power to them.

OS X capitan hasn't made much of a change. Yosemite brought good changes.

Linux was amazing until I had issues I couldn't work out how to fix, so Unix is best when you know what you are doing. Windows is more aimed at the average joe in the street.

I would love to be able to switch over to UNIX, but it requires a lot of time investment. So I stick with Win7. But I guess I will eventually move to UNIX.

If I want to be told how I can use my computer: Windows

If I want to tell my computer how I want to use it: UNIX and Co.

 

ofc it isn't to say that windows doesn't have its own strengths. Development tools and documentation are great like on UNIX and co and a lot of the things you can do, can be simplified much of the time.
