  1. This is a really interesting idea, I support this.
  2. Well, we would have an excuse to bring back Genius Corp, so I approve. Then I suppose we could go around giving all our other colonies long Dutch names, because everybody loves those.
  3. Well, .01 is pretty close, but I'll take it. Also, nice job Kurdanak, these are looking pretty nice.
  4. I'm already camped outside my local Wal-Mart. There is nothing like the thrill of trampling an old lady to get my new Xbox. Perhaps tomorrow I'll start hanging my lights. Tis' the season my friend. (Note: I don't actually do this. Enjoy Thanksgiving everyone.)
  5. And this is how you tell when someone's new. Embrace the hatred buddy, its what keeps this place going.
  6. This is an interesting idea, different from what you usually find. Good luck!
  7. It's not his color bonus, because Karris is on beige, which is always 5% You said your tax rate went down, but I bet your gross income didn't (unless you were talking about that.) As others have said, tax rates and citizen income rise and fall inversely, making social policies cosmetic.
  8. Nation ID: 1722 Post Count: 100 Link to Nation: https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=1722
  9. Well, I would say that you can scratch Ivan off the list. He sold all his infra and improvements last night rather than let us destroy them in place. Since he has barely any money, it means that he won't be able to build up again. I would say we've seen the last of him.
  10. The damage usually falls of fairly rapidly the more planes you have, if he had attacked with 75 planes instead of 12, he probably would've only done 15 or 20 more damage That said, the damage done by a few planes seems to be quite high.
  11. Considering that most of the nations he attacked were somewhat under-militized to start with, and that he's going to take a lot of damage, and be rendered a non-threat for a while, I would call it a success. Our nations can repair and rebuild, its going to be a lot harder for him.
  12. Your opponent most likely had no cash on hand. You could've stolen it all in a previous attack, or he could've deposited it in his bank (if not blockaded), or traded it for resources or whatever. If you attack in a couple of hours, he'll probably have money again.
  13. Well, you know. There is this one alliance. Starts with a G or something. If you were to attack them now perhaps, say with no warning, you might save Orbis as we know it... Just saying...
  14. What is the meaning of life in 5 words or less?

Everything about this alliance is beautiful.
  16. Remember the name Grillick everybody, it's who you're going to be begging for mercy from when GPA takes over the world. I for one welcome our new neutral overlords, and congratulate GPA on their elections.
  17. All the ways previously mentioned, plus if you tax resources, you can sell them on the market to make a bit of money.
  18. Please Bernard, find the place where I blame Placentica for existing, or what he did during the extortion issue. Please. If I'm trying to make people look bad, then what are you doing? Tell me, has DEIC ever said that we didn't start the embargo? It isn't some big secret, and I'm not trying to "cover" for anything, Prefontaine posted the whole story at the start of the topic. Guardian was perfectly free to follow the path they choose for this, and the issue is resolving itself. Forgive me if I won't bother to take PR advice from a guy whose 13 posts are entirely ill-informed !@#$ posting Edit: You are right about one thing, DEIC never can do wrong
  19. This demonstrates a bit of a misunderstanding of the situation at hand. As several people in this thread have mentioned, embargoes are a bit of a toothless action. They are essentially a formal way of saying "I don't want to buy your resources, and I don't want you to buy my resources." Embargoes in their most basic form are not a political action, just another way to not buy someone's resources on the market. That is how this whole debate started, over economics. Placentica was "manipulating" the market in the sense that he was undercutting a lot of people, including many in our alliance. The issue was not that others, including some in DEIC, were doing it as well, it's that he was. Thus, many people decided they didn't want to buy his resources, and simply provide him with more funding, and an embargo was proposed as a way to codify that. Thus it went into effect, becoming a bit of a policy and several Guardian members counter-embargoed, as was their right to do so. Once again, the purpose was not to punish anyone who undercuts, or extort money, as some have assumed, but to not empower further an economic competitor. In the end, however, Guardian has turned this into a political issue from an economic one, particularly with this post. That said, this is not to blame Placentica for his handling of the extortion issue, or to issue a condemnation of his market practices, which he is not the only one practicing. In addition, this is not to criticize Guardian's handling of the issue, although a massive debacle could probably have been avoided. This issue has received far more attention and publicity than a simple embargo probably warrants, and we are actively trying to resolve the political divide between the two alliances. Wilhelm was simply trying to extend an olive branch, but has received an unwarranted harshness in response. There is no need for the embargo to remain such a polarizing issue, and both alliances have made commendable effort thus far to move past this.
  20. There is actually a way to see this already. If you go to the "nations" page and set your search category to color and ordered by score, then search a color, say red, then it will show all the nations on the color red ranked by score, which is what you're asking for. That said, it exists, but is out of the way, it would be nice to make this easier.
  21. I voted for standard, as I think that half the fun of an alliance is seeing how the members and leadership transform something which might seem slightly ordinary into something great. Let the story tell itself instead of planning it all out. Whatever you decide to do in the end, I wish you good luck with it!
  22. Man, alliances are dropping like flies. I hope you guys prosper wherever you end up!
  23. Man, first TAC then EOS, all the big alliances are falling one by one, GPA is clearly consolidating its power and moving to eliminate any threats. Looks like it's up to the Company now.... *hefts musket* Anyway, shame to see a great alliance go. You guys will be missed. Hope you guys do well wherever you end up! o/ EOS
  24. Thats pretty much untrue, remember, the bank couldn't even be stolen from for about a third of WWA, as it hadn't been implemented. We did kick a couple long-term inactives at the start who were just being repeatedly beiged, but what you seem to be thinking of was bgorre kicking half the alliance for some reason, it took us a couple days to get everyone back together, which is presumably where you formed the misguided assumption.
