  1. itt: Ronny yet again proves my point. lol dude, stop trying so hard. Soon you'll never have to fight again and your wish will be granted. The release of a white dove into a green sky.
  2. At the same time I really miss the days when UPN-DEIC were stirring up shit back in the Oktoberfest days and before.
  3. And rebuilding even 1 billion cities is also super easy if you are given 1+ year of avoid any real fights. But I'm not talking about rebuilding, I'm talking about building. Huge difference.
  4. It does the opposite. It makes the game stagnate. The Coalition is a perfect example. Plus I'd argue that "paperless" is just a moniker for spin. The operative description here is hidden. You keep them hidden so people think you aren't the problem for the stagnation like they leveled at IQ's public treaties. But if all paperless were in the open you'd see a mess of lines that's far more entangled than IQ. This isn't directed at TEst necessarily and certainly not historically. The game might get interesting again if the upper tiers actually want to stop being such pixel huggers and fight each other. And no, I'm not talking about the faux-wars where you can claim you fought, but really you so selectively picked your target that you even had to hit people you were friendly with because that was the path of least resistance and you couldn't be bothered to actually play some politics or take risks. And these same alliances made sure there would be no counters. No one in the upper tier has any ambition and there seems to be no political fallout from pixel hugging. So it continues and is even considered a "successful" approach. Yes, and it's so admirable to not use the forums so the game can stagnate even further while an alliance hides behind secret treaties, rarely fighting, while not dispelling the notion that your only skill as an alliance is to play it safe and only wage wars against much much smaller opponents that are already irrelevant and won't actually change the landscape of the game. The game's mechanics and economy are set for large-scale wars every few months. If you give it a year, let alone what's it's currently at, you might as well not even bother with the war part of the game. The lack of any real war in the upper tier has now broken a vital part to a war simulator; the ability to suppress real opponents (I'm not talking about irrelevant alliances that are curbstomped randomly). Incomes and savings are just too crazy now. Even if we do have a big war, you can no doubt guess the main upper tier players will not attack each other. If they get involved, and they will try to get involved so people don't catch on to the fact they never fight real wars, they will pick on lighter targets, without bigger allies or very connected that don't matter and won't really change the landscape. They won't attack alliances that are in any way risky. And we will all reap the benefits of what's become an upper tier snooze-fest. The game was never intended to have people with 30+ cities. It was intended to be easy to rebuild, easy to fight, lots of numerous wars, and an economy that was kept in check by war. When you removed that people were allowed to break the game. Now the biggest drama is people having their tens of billions stolen because they are so overflowing with cash they have turned a war simulator into a banking simulator. Think about that for a second. Politics and Banking.
  5. Guess I need to update this. Can some of the upper tier heavy alliances grow a pair and actually let me know how many more paperless treaties they have? It's not like we aren't going to have a year's worth of stagnation with a few hits on random micros to convince everyone you aren't the reason the game is dying.
  6. Are you talking about your own alliance? Oh it's okay, paperless don't count, right? Right.
  7. Ironically if anyone had a decent CB to hit NB in the past war, it was TKR. Unless there is no intel clause with the Rose-TKR tie?
  8. Sup Kosmo. So who exactly are we calling EMC these days?
  9. Records are made to be broken. This is a war length both parties can be proud of.
  10. First off, we need one. Post your alliances you think have paperless treaties with each other. If I am missing anything in my treaty web, let me know. Secondly, after discussing what are some of the main alliances with larger upper tiers, I realized they were basically all either chain-paperless treatied to each other...or have been rolled/marginalized. Since games like this still put an emphasis on a winning the upper tier, this is very important to changing the political environment. You will notice that in the following paperless upper tier treaty web how little these alliances fight (if ever). TEst was rolled once, a few others a very long time ago, but you really don't see several of these alliances fighting several others within the paperless web/circle below. The middle 6 even less so. This is the most important political dynamic and the reason for the current stagnation, which has lasted for quite some time, well over a year imo. The IQ and NB wars doing nothing to really change anything politically. Nor have recent curbstomps or the TKR/TRF-TGH/KT war, or when a previous version of TEst was rolled. We all know that upper tier alliances don't like to fight each other in a situation they could lose, but if upper tier alliances don't want to lose infra or really fight, what does that really mean for this game? Other alliances with a large upper tier by city count not on this web: Paperless: TEst-KT/TGH Recently Rolled: KT, TGH, SK, Empyrea Could be possibly be added?: Tesla, CoA, NK, Fark, Polaris
  11. Thanks! This was basically what I was thinking too, but impression of what an upper tier alliance is, is important as uppers tend to join other uppers. I know there was a guy who attacked Grumpy back in the day when Hogwarts bailed them out, who now actually joined Grumpy, lol. So the draw to join for self-protection is strong. Grumpy being more whale tier or super-tier which is quickly becoming an important 4th class (ignoring the connotations of "whale", which I'm not after here). As a previous #1 nation, I fought in a lot of wars where my larger nation was very much needed by Guardian way back in the day.
  12. Not trying to be vague, but it's more important in my mind what other people think is an upper tier alliance. Just to answer you though, it's a combo of avg. city count x number of nations. Not sure I'd say a 1-nation alliance with someone at 25 cities is an upper tier alliance, but tC is all upper tier and large enough imo, I probably would include them if they were 4 nations. And TKR being that they have a lot of nations of 20+ cities I'd say would qualify as well. Again, just my subjective take, I'm curious how others define that. Loosely thinking 20 cities is upper tier, 25 is whale tier.
  13. It's not so much what is my list, but what do you define as the alliances with the largest "upper tier". I'm curious what the community thinks and defines it as. So while Pantheon, TKR has lots of mids/lowers, they also have a pretty large upper, imo (or please disagree and explain). I also think it's relevant to include upper tier only alliances like The Coalition. KT might be one I missed, thank you Furpk.
  14. It seems like PW has gotten even more segmented between lower tiered alliances and upper tier ones. My question is what would you list as an upper tier alliance or those with a large upper tier? My current list would be: The Knights Radiant The Commonwealth Guardian Pantheon (even though they have low avg. str, they still have a large upper) Rose Church of Spaceology The Syndicate Grumpy Old Bastards Terminus Est The Coalition Maybe Fark and CoA? What is your list? (additions: KT, TGH, Tesla, SK, Fark, CoA)
  15. Very nice man. Must be nice to fly a flag that doesn't look like shite, too. :p
  16. I guess it's easy to tell who didn't do their homework in econ. Compound interest x insane APRs due to game mechanics = Seb x38 To be honest, knowing the money that was being floated around and what he said about his capital flows, I figure he's still got quite a few more to go before he's got earn it the hard way. :p Seb is no bank thief either, but this is already known.
  17. For just being just the bandwagon, you sure went full brass balls there. Shoot for the stars, mate. Maybe you'll get most of it in the toilet bowl this time. Don't back down, never give up, never surrender. Don't let the man stick it to you.
  18. Now TRF on the other hand, has impacted the game numerous times. So many I can't even remember. So crucial the very fabric of PW.
  19. Is this the topic that contains all the whiny SJW's from TKR and TRF?
  20. And here I thought this was another whiny SJW thread by TRF. Took you long enough.
  21. I mean you can just spit it out and say Stratagem, now TRF. They aren't any better, agreed. And a few others, some of which might surprise you. Evidence that Rose was a terrible ally 1) they did have plenty of upper tier nations not involved and 2) there is no way that EMC moves without getting some level of assurances. TKR/Guardian are not stupid, they got those before rolling out 3) even without military intervention there are many other ways they could've helped WTF, but chose not. Here's to hoping Rose doesn't treat you the same KT/TGH.....when whatever the current chest puffing resolves itself or not.
  22. You constantly have this mentality that it makes you look less worse if you cancel on people first. I really hope no one is buying that. Nor did you have any reason to cancel WTF here, who has been nothing but an amazing ally to you while you have been a terrible one to WTF. I have no doubts that TCW/EMC sphere okay'ed it's attack on WTF with you prior. Way to backstab your former ally. I hope in the future someone treats you in the same way.
  23. I agree, Fark should say an alliance who has not disbanded, like Alpha. Fark is one of the most loyal alliances in this game and I'm sure they will be fine in either case, although I still have no idea why someone would backstab them like Stratagem (or whatever the name is of the commie alliance they are called now) did.
  24. 1) You are an idiot and TCWGPA was full of juicy inactive targets. 2) We were in the coalition hitting IQ and we arranged separate peace privately with IQ after EMC attacked us. We were going to post it, but they said it wasn't necessary. We would've been involved more had EMC not attacked us. That is the simple fact from an actual NB alliance leader, unlike yourself. 3) For the last fricking time. We sat one war. One war. The war where both sides had targetted us in the past so we chose to sit out. We have fought in all previous major wars. You always mention this "2 years" bullshit without mentioning that we hadn't had a great war in ages on account of EMC/TKR doing jack shit and our one-war-sit.
