  1. Posturing over misleading stats (refer to War Stats 2.0) is worse imo, but to each their own. I'm seeing some IQ people taking the piss back, which I'm actually glad they're, tbh. Shit talking (which is what this thread is about, as I already gave my honest opinion on IQ in the peace thread proper) is always more entertaining for both parties when they just take it as that.
  2. It's not so much "We had no choice lest someone else came in", but rather "If you wanted to have a say in the outcome you should have come in".
  3. Gotta give and receive my dude. Easter did happen during the war .
  4. As I understand it, no. ODN is basically on their own.
  5. To the non-participant detractors: While I'm not a fan of the 6 month nap, you shoulda gone boots on the ground to have it changed. Criticizing is easy when you don't have to foot the bill or go in. To non-IQ coalition: Great performance, given that we were by large, just an ad-hoc group of AA's, some of which hadn't fought in a global before. T'was a pleasure to work with all of you. To IQ coalition: Serious talk (I already shit talk/ed plenty). If you guys were a bit more aggressive and more willing to spend resources to get in range for updeclares, you would have been able to do soo much more damage, if not win this global. You have a lot of potential left untapped. It was a good refreshment from the 9 months of peace or so that preceded the war. I wish a fast rebuild to all the participants of this war.
  6. They're the names of the cities (or prefectures, if a city isn't available) each school is located in in GuP, hence the matching flags (Which are the logo of the school themselves, with a flag that is either made to match just for style, or to match with the nationalities the schools represent {the reason why you see the french/finnish/bulgarian etc flags on the background for some of them}).
  7. EMC was already taken, so what do you propose?
  8. You know, while Inquisition Coalition (from now on, who shall be referred to as IQ (and Co.) to simplify) does tend to be deluded in many cases, we, the non-IQ side, have to recognize that sometimes we do go in a bit hard on them. Particularly in the most recent thread, where Leo's peace announcement thread got negbombed (unfairly, I must add). As such, I figured that we should instead, be a little bit more appreciative of what they've done for us. For such purpose, I'll be the first one to do so, by saying what has IQ done for me. First and foremost, I have city 18 thanks to IQ's generous donations. Yep, that's right. City 18 is now a thing for me thanks to IQ's (and Co.'s) contributions. For the purpose of rememberance until the end of times, City 18 shall retain it's current name indefinitely. Secondly, they helped me right my K/D counts. Coming off the last global, they looked like this. This is how they look now. I have to thank IQ for giving me an opportunity to right the stats that had been tarnished as a result of the last global. Thirdly, and I just have to mention it. A new city, rebuild funds and prettier stats are all nice and whatnot. But there are stuff that resources can't buy (nor can Mastercard). This is one of them. I do have to say that being accused of scripting, just because push notifications give all defenders (that are active) a chance to attack before the attacker himself does so, is one of the highest honors I've ever had in this game. I am truly grateful to IQ that they decided that I was fit and worthy of receiving such recognition of being so gud at this otherwise forgettable game, that it looked like I had an unfair advantage over them. And well, that's it for me really. Recitifed stats, a new city and a honorific title. I'd like all the other people who fought in the non-IQ coalition to step forth, and give you your appreciation for IQ (and Co.), and do mention which contributions did IQ (and Co.) make to your nation, that you want to show your gratitude for.
  9. The scrolling text was meh, but the engagement ring part made up for it.
  10. Not a bug since, at most, it's human error, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Whatever helps you sleep at night bud.
  11. You could've just zero'd my air faster with those two wars. It goes both ways. If anything, you can get more out of it than I do, because you're killing planes while I'm hitting armies and navies that don't exist.
  12. Slot someone with 3 nuke raiders. Nuke his hangars, zero'ing his plane counts for those (90 planes per city). Chain that with spy ops. More than 300 planes killed per day (you will kill at least 10 planes even with 1% rolls in the first days). And you just keep repeating it and you'll eventually zero his aircraft since he can't keep up with the losses unless he has a very large amount of cities. And yes, I know you weren't talking about planes per se, but going by the other person's suggestion of letting it selectively pick targets, you can see how this would be abused to shit.
  13. No nerf would be enough to compensate for military killed, ESPECIALLY if you seek to kill everything that city is holding. And particularly if (as someone else wants to) you could target which unit to kill. You're disregarding the entire aspect of the initial coordinated blitz, which often decides the course of the war, at least for the first couple of weeks. And the micro aspect of the wars, beyond the initial instructions, are often handled by the members themselves or some lower milcom. So no, if you aren't dogpiling the enemy (and even then, this takes more coordination than nukes lmfao) this aspect is certainly more complex than just hitting a single button to launch a nuke. And damn dude. An alliance is the membership AND the leadership (in that order). Saying that basically only the leadership's efforts matter, and disregarding the ambience that the membership fosters, alongside the quality of the members themselves, is kind of an insult to AA members in regards to what makes an AA good/appealing. You're just inflating the counts here, to be honest. You also gotta plan resources to keep your armies running, for conventional. You also gotta buy spies as a conventional fighting nation (and coordinated spy offensives are EVEN more complex than conventional warfare, so more credit to the people who pull that off). As for finding high infra hostiles, that isn't too hard to do when you're basically fighting whales. Btw, bill-locking also happens to nations that fight conventionally. And honestly I don't see how having to log in like, 3 minutes prior to turn change is as big of a thing to merit it's own count, but okay. Just as a side note, the people that are getting dragged into the >2k NS range in the current global are having a harder time getting things done, because they can't even nuke the other nations since they're flat as frick, resulting in a bad trade. Yet you don't see them !@#$ and !@#$ and complain to no end. Maybe you should take a page from their book, and learn what adaptability is. Yes. Let's disregard on it's entirety, the fact that prior to the nuking of Nagasaki, the Soviets curbstomped the Kwantung garrison in Manchuria (the last force of significant size remaining overseas), and invaded South Sakhalin + the Kuril islands, while making preparations to invade the Home Islands proper (starting with Hokkaido. Hell, the reason why the bombing of Kure happened to begin with, was partially to make it easier for the soviets to carry out their invasions). You have a shallow understanding of WW2, if you believe that Showa forcing the Surrender of Japan comes solely from the nukes. And with that suggestion, you'd basically be making nukes statistically irrelevant, due to their scarcity. Balancing is a combination of compromises. You can't have everything.
  14. You're reaching dude. He keeps nuking simply to maximize infra destroyed. The fricktonne of beige time to use to hide the bank is just a very welcome bonus for them.
  15. Sketchy's proposal would largely remedy the issues put forth in the 1st paragraph, as the duration would be beyond the player's control, and a win/lose result would be unavoidable. For the slotfillers, yeah, it'd make it easier to tell one and the other apart. And actually, no, it's not really that big of a problem. If you try to make everything so that you have to meet a minimum requirement in order to not to be breaking the rules, then you're setting up a system that's asking to be taken advantage of. The solution is quite simple. If the other guy has mil and you're not doing anything, even though you have a mil that can take on his, then chances are that there's slotfilling going on.
  16. Resistance is a terrible metric to go by for the purpose of judging whether a war is real or just slotfilling. Reason being, the basic goal of conventional warfare is to ZM the opponent. That can be achieved with less than 50 res damage dealt, if you blitzed the target with other 2 companions. Furthermore, once he's ZM'd, there's no reason to race a beige (or beige at all) from a military standpoint (the incentive is mainly economic, such as loot {which vanishes if he and/or his aa evac'd their banks}, and for the infra damage dealt}. You're better off dragging it for as long as possible, denying him rebuy days and saving as much resistance damage as possible to use on attacks that actually kill mil. Also, measuring by res damage would alow people to game the system really hard. For example, someone can get his D slots filled without getting punished for breaking the rules, if all the slotfillers need to do is 1ship him 4 or 5 times for it to count as a real war (and him to do some damage in return). The defender would be paying a negligible economic cost, while being able to basically war without the fear of being countered. So no, just check the involved parties' military, and casualties to judge whether there's slotfilling going on or not.
  17. Just hire someone to handle the reports for you. /Thread. Seriously though, remove beige and people who get knocked out remain knocked out for good. That'd simply empower the aggressor even more, in a context where the aggressor already has a large advantage over the defender. Sketchy's proposal is the most sound, barring #4. Forcing a W/L by the time the timer runs out would remediate the aspect of the victor not wanting to win to avoid giving beige time to the vanquished.
  18. Who has the fastest F5 in Orbis? We'll learn shortly.
