Yeah, wrong. An alliance wide warn is a silly idea: while I understand the argument that there are some communities that are more tolerant than others of that behavior and don't at all think that is okay, I'm still opposed to any approach that paints a collective as responsible for an action that members of that collective may indeed be ignorant. What I want is punishment for the relatively few people who do these things. I don't know how many ways it needs to be said that making death threats about lynching a black player is totally unacceptable and that no one should actually want this player in our community. It's ludicrous I should have to say that once, let alone multiple times. A nation strike is not enough and that is clear to anyone with sense, so I'm saying: fix that. Alex has stated his "the community should police itself" belief in these matters, and I've always disagreed. He's the admin. Yeah, we should all be revolted by what this player has done. But blowing up his pixels is a totally asinine way to express that. Is that what we want to be the political fodder, here? "Come play politics and war. My alliance is planning to fight a war that's about lynching a real life black person!" Get fricking real.

He's reversed course on things before, and good on him for it. When you make the wrong decision based on not looking at the full scope of the problem, you fix it, you don't just shrug and move on.

You're flatly wrong. It's not using moderation as a weapon to protect members of the community from racial death threats, dude. This is not the first offense from this player; I reported him earlier for having the name WHITE POWER ranger on the forums. Do you not keep logs of that kind of thing? Does that not inform the decision on what the reasoning behind that "joke" might have been, and demonstrate that this is part of a pattern of behavior? @Alex I'm sorry to ping you again, but a lot of people are upset about this, and most of them have just given up on trying. I'll give it one less crack. That apology wasn't even to the person who was wronged. It's incredibly difficult to take you seriously as someone who wants this community better when you act as if a nation strike is appropriate. As Kosmo is alluding, other members of that same community have attacked this same player (it was a whole thing, as you may recall). Should they all do so once, get a nation strike, apologize to you, and walk? Is that the community you want for your game? It's beyond ridiculous. It's your game. You're the mod. People are going to take their cues from you. When you let crap like this slide, you come back in a month to a bunch more toxic nonsense, and you give a blanket statement on how we should all be excellent to each other... these things aren't actually totally contained from each other. It's not just on us: you are the one who can actually enforce the vision you want. Lead from the front.

This is pretty much bang on. It's pretty comical you now have SRD and I agreeing. We've managed to whack each other around a few times now without anyone seeming to develop a nonsense victim narrative, actually. All you guys had to do was sit there and let us mess each other up, and you couldn't pull that off.

The real problem, NPO people, is that if your threshold for a CB was that low (and old logs about a hypothetical scenario where IQ was still together is indeed a low bar to clear), that you had one against the entire game (as Abbas is implying above) and for some reason only acted on it against TKR. It's odd to everyone, I would say, that you coincidentally saw the only possible move to make as refolding into IQ. And everything about the way your government went about this makes it look as if they made that choice, then worked backwards to the "best" justification they could come up with. Which, unfortunately, was still very weak. That's about how I see it. I'm probably done trying to argue with your government about it though, because they have established themselves as disingenuous liars.

I'm usually not in a hurry to give NPO credit (especially since they are apparently trying fabricate CBs against my bloc? But I think everyone sees that for what it is anyway, and it's just Shadowthrone, who rarely has any idea what he's saying, so whatever I guess) but in fairness, here: has there ever been a particularly good answer for why they didn't help BK/re-consolidate IQ already if they really had a mind to? There was a time that was basically perfect for them to have done that, and they didn't.

Counterpoint: Did BK just suddenly become awful yesterday? I would posit that a lot of these alliances had all the tools to know what they were getting into.
