James Gordon
I was originally going to put a poll on this because I tend to like polls but instead best to make this interesting. What do you think is the future of mankind? Do you think we will all kill ourselves in a giant war, will we become a one world civilization, will we go Star Wars mode a have humans everywhere, ect ect. Feel free to share what you think is the future of mankind. I will love reading your comments, as I love history, alternate history and future predictions of history. Have fun and please if your going to have an argument with someone, be somewhat civil. Unless your on the Star Wars side of the debate, than just send an assassin to chase them for 3 episodes and get the same thing wrong on both Death Stars. But other than that, have fun. I'll be commenting on many of your posts just so you know so check back often.

Franz Joseph
I think if we make it far enough without wiping ourselves out we will hit a hyper-capitalistic and extremely technologically synced environment. Kinda like EVE.

Because of course Earth will be destroyed either but a planet, asteroid or the sun it's simple space science but do you think humans will died off before that? Inevitably, mankind will go extinct. I just hope our death isn't stupid. Agreed but how? How do you think we will die off? I think if we make it far enough without wiping ourselves out we will hit a hyper-capitalistic and extremely technologically synced environment. Kinda like EVE. Sadly this advanced enough tech it will simply kill us.
Kamehameha
I think the future will be post-capitalist, societal organization will be nation or city-state based, and expansion into space will be driven by military need. As much as I may disagree with some Capitalistic elimates I have to disagree. At best we will form an ideology that find a unity between Socialism and Capitalism. Also I have to disagree it will be driven by military, if anything it will either be driven from Population or Science. Either way we will be on other planets in the next 100 or 200 years. Maybe sooner. ha haha hahahahaha HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BWWWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! James Gordon
Trans-Galactic Empire. 'nuff said. Sense your a Fascist I have to honestly say. A Fascist Galactic Empire would be pretty cool. All I can think to compare it to would be Star War. I lean to Fascist Economic and Social values myself so again, that would be pretty cool. When you read the details the Empire was always the good guys, but the plot had to meet certain guidelines politically. I.e. strong leaders and military bad, democracy good. Basically a mix of Pluto and Nietzsche. But other than that, democracy is pretty stupid.
Lu Xun
Inevitably, mankind will go extinct. I just hope our death isn't stupid. This, it's a statistical inevitability. Human beings have been inherently ecophagic since their emergence as anatomically modern humans 100,000 years ago in Africa, and have been responsible for the mass extinction of many species even before the start of the industrial age. Even agriculture is inherently destructive, since it's the replacement of natural biomes with artificial ones, and despite heavy work to avert it, agriculture ultimately results in soil depletion, with the requirement for industrial fertilizers to keep soil fertile. Hence, human beings can't go "back", or they can't even stay the same, but then what is meant by going forward? If human beings choose to go forward, eventually they will create transhumans and post-humans, and both of these types of entities, when created, will be superior to baseline humans. In the case of transhumans, after sufficient modification, they can be considered to be a wholly new species, and due to their superiority, this can be considered to be the end of the human race, as !@#$ Sapiens Sapiens will cease to exist. In the case of post-humans, like AI or robots, they, too, will be superior to the basic unmodified human geneline, and an intelligent and competitive society seeking efficiency will choose to replace all its human participants with post-humans. After all, photosynthesis, at best, results in a 20% energy absorption rate, with 4% to 10% energy being available to its consumers, while standard solar cells have a module efficiency of around 18%. Most of these fantasies of essentially human beings spreading throughout the stars seem awfully anthropocentric, and consequently delusional. There may be something that can be said to be descended from human civilization as a future galactic or universal hegemon, but the idea of wetware infesting the rest of the galaxy is implausible. Kamehameha
I think the future of mankind will be determined by an accumulation of small events, like whether Hawaiians are able to restore sovereignty and righteousness to Hawaii. Because in a righteous environment all good men are lifted up, but under evil rule the people are doomed to destruction. Kamehameha
Jesus said 'I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.' Hawaii was a Christian Nation, a Kingdom of Order and Righteousness, so when you struck down God's Kingdom to satiate your own wickedness and greed you doomes your children to a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah that is the mainland. And Babylon will burn. Dark Specter
Our sun wont die or explode for a few billion more years so the chance of us being killed by our sun is out of the question, plus by then our species will either be extinct or inhabiting another world in another system. There is still the chance of us causing a nuclear apocalypse which can wipe out humanity ( hopefully that doesnt happen). Plus our species is able to learn and adapt so if something starts to happen on our planet where it becomes impossible to live or if there is a threat in our system that can wipe us out years from now, we will come up with ways to try and avoid it. Plus we will start developing ways to inhabit space ( granted it wont happen for hundreds of years). And like others have said, we as a species will die off no matter what we do. We can sit and continue advancing and accept our extinction or develop technology to inhabit space just to delay our eventual down fall. Quote Amidst the eternal waves of time From a ripple of change shall the storm rise Out of the abyss peer the eyes of a demon Behold the razgriz, its wings of black sheath The demon soars through dark skies Fear and death trail its shadow beneath Until men united weild a hallowed sabre In final reckoning, the beast is slain As the demon sleeps, man turns on man His own blood and madness soon cover the earth From the depths of despair awaken the razgriz Its raven wings ablaze in majestic light
