James Gordon
Secession is in the air for many parts of the world. So, what future countries do you think might exist? Also, if interested in knowing where secession movements are, check this link: http://www.quora.com/What-are-likely-to-be-the-next-new-countries-or-at-least-the-most-likely-candidates-to-become-independent Edited May 8, 2015 by Washatonia

Ayayay
Did they pull half this list out of their ass? No Canadian nor American states will secede, nor would nations like Italy give up land in Europe. Taiwan is already de facto independent from Communist China, no matter what the guy says. 1 Quote Orbis Wars | CSI: UPN | B I G O O F | PW Expert Has Nerve To Tell You How To Run Your Own Goddamn Alliance | Occupy Wall Street | Sheepy Sings TheNG - My favorite part is when Steve suggests DEIC might have done something remotely successful, then gets massively shit on for proposing such a stupid idea. Franz Joseph
I think the most likely candidates as of now are Kurdistan, Catalonia, and the Basque country.

Big Brother
Some of these are de facto pretty much independent, just not recognized by everyone and disputed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sahrawi_Arab_Democratic_Republic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transnistria Other than those I'd say maybe Flanders, Basque Country, Catalonia and possibly Scotland. This is my personal favorite but I don't see it as particularly viable and it's 51% joke, but still a funny project: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Jamtland I'm also a fan of the idea of Cascadia, in Western North America. Alice Lune
South Thailand/Kra Ithmus. With each day riots, bombings and opposition to Bangkok rule increases. The Bangkok administration not only failed to maintain order but they also aggravate the populace with unnecessary crap. Right now it's still manageable, though not because of Bangkok's doing. The locals maintain order on their own, Bangkok's soldiers just raid houses and catch people they believe to be secessionists.
Greatnate
Lol Cascadia. Kurdistan is the most likely. Transnistria and Crimea are way more likely to become Russian territory than independent for any real period of time.
