Fox Fire
And you still say you aren't a fascist.... Remember it's not an either-or situation like the reactionaries here are saying. For example among Hawaiians I am moderate and relatively pro-US. I don't see why there couldn't be a relationship of allies rather than subjugation. There is no subjugation. You're a US state.... 1 Quote _________________________________________________________________ <Jroc> I heard \ is an anagram of cocaine<\> I can't be rearranged into a line, I already am a line. --Foxburo Wiki--
Kamehameha
We want our sovereignty and control of the civilian infrastructure and redistribute land from the parasitical bourgeois and back to our people. With the Polynesian food we can grow and our superior culture we will produce the finest soldiers in the world. You are correct, we do not have the infrastructure to support the entire USPACOM fleet ourselves, but we can provide superior warriors and political stability. Thus partnership rather than confrontation. While the rest of the US degenerates Hawaii will be the beacon of the future, the bastion of the pacific, and the new pacific order. This is a newer line of thinking, but it is catching on. For better or worse America is the superpower with the closest ties to Hawaii, and I would prefer independent alignment with the US rather than a return to the 1950s Soviet situation. For better or worse America is the superpower with the closest ties to Hawaii, and I would prefer independent alignment with the US rather than a return to the 1950s Soviet situation. I try to see sense in your words but what can be derived from this? If you want redistribution than you better get that socialist nationalist party in power in Hawaii for a start. Without US provided weaponry your soldiers can never be the finest in the world no matter how much heart or strength you believe them to have. "Partnership" with a independent Hawaii is also a delusion they will not humour, why partner up when they have control right now? What are you going to do to make them relinquish control? Talk nationalism that'll easily be labeled racist and insane? Talk superiority that outside very few cases will only hurt any support you hope to gain? Heck I don't even believe you have an actual political alternative considering you seem to think the Democrats are an okay bunch. There ain't going to be some grand physical battle to win independence, you have to win it in the minds of the people. To do that you have to at the very least have an alternative that betters people's lives and not simply independence for Independence sake. There are places where that will for independence is all you need, and Hawaii isn't one of them.
Aphelion
Im sorry I can't take someone seriously who has a weaboo !@#$ avatar Weaboo is a bourgeoisie term bro. It was invented by Westerners to subjugate the superior Kawaii culture. Stop being so bourgeoisie. I'll make a separated thread about the Rise of the Kawaii Nation soon to expound on this.
Vesica
So reading through this entire thread I've learned a few things. 1.) A friend of mine whose from Hawaii who I played Nationstates with a few years ago was a Hawaiian Nationalist... and a little left wing; by comparison to this guy Linchtenstamp was a right wing uber Conservative Fascist 2.) Tywin whose the word bourgeise far too much. 3.) No warrior culture is capable of defending against a single Carrier Battle Group 4.) I should not have read this drunk

Avruch
Let's assume Hawaii seceded... By far the largest sector of Hawaii's economy is tourism, to the point where Hawaii doesn't even bother reporting economic statistics by sector. Of all visitors, the vast majority are Americans. What would happen to Hawaii's economy in the event of independence? It would tank as pissed off Americans found other pretty places to visit. Since the largest minority of Hawaiian residents are white caucasians (second overall after people who have "some Hawaiian ancestry"), presumably some significant portion of those people would feel unwelcome and leave. Even of non-tourism economic activity, among the largest is government expenditure - heavily dependent on the U.S. federal government and tax revenues from visiting continental Americans. That would, obviously, fall off steeply (Hawaii has the largest population percentage of federal employees of any state). The result would be a Hawaii that resembles the Philippines. Doesn't sound like paradise to me.
Kamehameha
Actually iirc a bigger portion of tourists come from China and Japan now. Per Hawaii's own stats, ~64% of tourists are American. The next largest group is Japanese tourists.
