In the early days of the war, the Legendary Ground Task Force had many victories and little defeats. But General Doom knew this was no reason for celebration but a startling wake-up call, and he rallied the people of Legend with an extraordinary address, telling them: "We shall go on to the end, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our land, whatever the cost may be… we shall never surrender!"
