I'm curious to know where everyone migrated to here from? The poll is simple just vote the nation sim that you most recently played or participated in the most, before coming here. Also feel free to talk about how good or horrible these world's were if you want.

For a few years, I was hopping around from different games. Tried (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways), and liked it more than others, but it was going to take way too long to get anywhere in it.

(I had a total of 5 different nations (3 were named either Steelport, Meizawesum, or 'Muricaland))

Started with >BLOC since the very first reset, only really got serious after the first collpase. A friend recommended (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways) but again it looked like too much of a time sink, Realpolitik is also good but is something I do on the side.

I was originally a CyberNations player, I was pretty young back then and kind of an idiot and got myself banned from the forums there. (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways) rules state that a forum ban = a game ban, so I was pretty much banned indefinitely. I attempted ban evasion a few times as different aliases, got tired of being re-banned and decided I was going to create my own 'CyberNations' instead. I messed around with learning HTML, CSS, and PHP to try and create my own game for a few years, and eventually got some shit put together that was Pixel Nations. I realized that the code for the game was pretty awful and it was kind of 'hot' at the time, so I ended up selling it. Pretty quick after that I tried diverging from 'nation' simulation and created Martian Empires, which has been what you could call a failure (though it exists and is perfectly playable, just no one wants to play it )

 

After that I took a break for a year or so, got a real job, played a lot of games (Modern Warfare games, Starcraft 2, League of Legends, Civilization 3-5), ended up realizing that I really didn't like my job and that utilizing my web development skills would be a good way to make some more money, maybe eventually enough to keep from needing to work that job anymore. I was looking at how other people had made money online off of websites, and a lot of it had to do with finding a niche market and creating good content. I thought it over for a long time, and really had nothing, then I realized that a niche market was nation simulation games, and I had a lot of experience in the field and the ability to create something great.

 

Fast forward a few weeks, I bought the domain politicsandwar.com and started this game that you all are playing today. I had learned creating Martian Empires that just my ideas aren't good enough, Pixel Nations was a success because I involved the community and used their input to design a game that people would want to play. Martian Empires was kind of a closed door game for me that no one ended up playing (but I thought the mechanics were good, meh). In any case, I think the model I'm using for Politics and War is a successful one, it's not a democracy by any means or really 'crowdsourced' but I listen to a lot of feedback and try to make the best decisions for the best game I can. I'm hoping that it will turn out very well and be a popular game, I hope it's revered the way that CyberNations was, or Lunar Wars was, or Project-Terra (when it was very popular).

 

To clarify, I'm not necessarily saying that any of those games are flawless or anything, simply that when people refer to them or talk about them it just seems to be in a way like 'that game had so much potential' or 'that game was so good'.

Since I couldn't pick two, I picked PN since that is where I heard here. However though, I was lead to PN from (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways). Well, I actually came here from PT. That's where SK had its presence, aside from a short lived stint on Ogame, and that most directly answered the title question so it's my vote. PT's been gone a while, though, and I've generally been active on (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways) (for certain definitions of 'active') although not in any relation to SK in any way.

I first got into bloc before its first reset and got a really low ID number (51) after the reset and became a full time player (Forums and game) Then after the goonpocolypse and world war bloc 1 I became leader of The Asian Alliance and chose to support my MDP with the fox and then the RVL took on ANON and lost world war bloc 2 then after the heidipocolypse I abandoned ship as my coutnry was in flames from poor approval level.

You should sign up on WaW. Andrew isn't around to suck you D anymore, but there's probably a few people around who'd get some weird nostalgia love to see you back. This is true, RP has its own position though as it has a military focus (supply lines, military counters and military industrial complex) that I do not see in other nation simulations. WaW and PaW are lightyears ahead of BLOC at this point considering the forums have completely died.

If I remember from a post on the forums someone was taking the leader role of migrating AA members. If he didn't do that I would think about trying out heidis game.

That was Andrew but it was incredibly shortlived and fell apart after he never came back post-reset. I guess the spirit of the Asian Alliance was kept alive by the Amyntas Alliance but that just got ripped apart in the first big war. 

 

All of the migrating AA members split up anyways.

Cybernations player here. When I played Bloc I quickly realised how monotone that game is.

I take it Amyntas is the equivilent of Asia? I remember I looked at WaW and it looked boring to me.
