  1. Your wish hasn't been granted, sorry Jodo.
  2. Lovely new faces! Welcome to Orbis.
  3. This isn't the war your looking for *waves hand*
  4. So where did you come from? Your entire alliance seem to share the same creation dates so that means you're either from another established place or they're all just you.
  5. I wouldn't expect there to be any major terms on any alliances at this stage in the game... it's simply too early to do that sort of thing. If it ever did happen it would cripple the politics of this place and possibly give this place an early death which isn't really in anyone's interests at this point. A year from now when we've got multiple established majors (instead of the 4-6 we have now) then that sort of thing might become commonplace and not end up crippling the planet.
  6. I'll gladly post the logs if nobody else does... this is an open affair with anyone welcome to spectate so it's not as if we're all scheming in that room. That stuff happens in the other rooms after we haul in the sacrifices...
  7. I'm commander Thulium and my favorite PW tool in all of Orbis is Malone's PW Tools.
  8. Nation Name: Valaestari Alliance Name: Rose Credit References: Guarantor(s): (Nation(s) or Alliance(s)) Daily After-Cost Revenue: (We reserve the right to ask for a screenshot of your Revenue page) $112,788.99 Did Someone Refer You To Us? If so, Who: None Amount you would like to borrow: 3 million What Is Your Investment Plan: Same as before, general growth. I, (Valaestari), agree to the following if I choose to accept a loan from the Cirrus Bank: -Pay all interest associated -Repay the principal -Act in good faith to repay all my debts and refrain from misrepresenting my intentions or history. I also give the Cirrus Bank, or whoever may hold my debt in the future, the right to reclaim my debt through the use of force. I agree to inform any alliance I may join while holding this debt of this arrangement.
  9. I believe in your Dusty Bottoms. Welcome to the world.
  10. I was raided in my second week on Orbis.
  11. Today I learned I am a retard. Thanks for pointing this out Vincent! The cost is negligible to huge nations, it's huge for smaller one. In any case Vincent was correct and this is already in place but I didn't realize it.
  12. The tallest of trees start from the littlest of acorns... this is a good milestone for sure.
  13. I wouldn't care for this at all... I play this because it is like (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways) but it doesn't have 8 years of build up time to actually play. While this is an interesting idea I know I wouldn't play with it because I don't actually care for inter-nation relationships I care for inter-political ones and those only happen on an alliance to alliance scale.
  14. The Problem I've noticed an issue I have with the spy system. Currently the spy system discourages smaller nations from building a large number of spies past a certain level as it then becomes too costly to use them. Which means that nations trying to build up their number of spies for offensive or defensive purposes have a disincentive to do so. This can easily be mended and if done would mean nations would have a reason to invest into their spies beyond being a costly passive defense force. The Numbers Currently spies cost 50k each and no matter what operation I choose to issue the cost per spy remains the same in relation to the number sent. Using the most basic example a quick and dirty gather intel operation costs 10k per spy sent. So if I have 5 spies and I issue that same mission it'll cost me 50k to perform at the most basic level. The Analysis As it stands currently, nations are punished for having the foresight to invest in spies. Because past 5 spies every single operation you take will cost you more then it would to buy a spy and past 10 spies, operations cost more then two spies... and beyond that it continues to scale in cost. Therefore nations are discouraged from growing their spy agencies for the sheer economic cost of having to actually utilize them; becoming nothing more then a bonfire of cash to light. For larger nations this might not be an issue but considering that nations can spy on anyone regardless of size this leads to a tyranny of riches that allows only the largest nations to properly utilize spies. Put more succinctly, larger nations are not effected too much by this system but smaller nations are actively penalized from investing in spy defenses leading to a system that allows them no defenses against larger nations seeking to issue spy attacks against them as seen by BoC's recent troubles. The Solution What I propose is simple, allow nations to specify the number of spies sent out on operations. So as to allow individuals the option to send exactly the amount needed to get the job done. There is no reason why a nation should send out 100 spies at the cheapest operational cost of 1mil to spy on a nation that has zero spies when 1 spy on an operational cost of 10k will do the job. Then smaller nations will have a reason to invest in their spy force and by doing so will be able to bolster their own defenses as they will not be encumbered by having 20 spies on hand as it will not cost them 200k to actually use on less prepared nations. Will this end the ability of larger nations to dominate smaller ones in spying? Of course not. Should a system be in place that offers complete parity between nations? No. But by doing this slight change it will at the very least enable nations a reason to use their spies. Edit: This already exists. I didn't realize it but this egg dripping on my face does a good job of it lol
  15. The thing that is a bit silly to me is that if alliances were attempting to weaken TC they'd do so by targeting the strength within it...I think it goes without saying that BoC are not the powerful force in TC. So with that in mind the idea that the spying attacks that have happened against BoC are being used to "weaken" TC is just silly. You don't chop down a tree by pulling off twigs, you cut it down by hacking at the trunk. I think the million dollar answer to this whole situation can be summarized as a bunch of nations seeing BoC post every time they build a ship and noticing that they have no spies blow it up out of amusement. Not some grand conspiracy because to put it bluntly BoC don't matter enough to warrant such scheming. They're a young and growing alliance and have enough posters to be considered active which is a good thing, but on that same hand they needlessly draw attention to themselves with these sorts of threads (and the ones advertising they've built ships without spies); the spy attacks is simply the result of that and nothing more. Case solved, free of charge.
  16. Inside this groundbreaking novel I outline the measures taken in the theoretical spying of BoC as well as listing out potential suspects with a motive... Preorder your copy today for an easy Christmas special pricing of $600,000 only at The Pleasuredome!
  17. I think GPA are the perfect summer getaway home.

  19. Does anyone else see the humor in an anarchist alliance issuing it's members orders? By definition they'd be an alliance without any central power or authority to do those things.
