This is correct; the problem (in my opinion) is that ships are only really usefull in VIP settings or c35+s destroying infra once all units are dead. In usual alliance war dynamics ships aren't that relevant; they are a lame duck in the water.

I've thought about this for a long while. It feels very wrong. But I can not give a rational reason as to why it is wrong, so i'll agree.

@Mohammad.badawy4 @Ezio Auditore da Firenze Although you have the right to disagree (wouldn't want it any other way); would you both mind clarifying why you think this is a bad change? Would you say ships are already strong enough (if so, why, they aren't really a part of the meta right?). If they aren't strong enough why not buff them? Or maybe you guys do think they need a buff but this isn't the way, in which case, how should they be buffed?

Something funny about baseball is that I have seen so many posts seeing it is broken and needs changes over the years, and that while it has so few mechanics. That being said, if it causes this much problems maybe we should just consider deleting it / reworking the whole system so people who spend 4 hours playing baseball can go do something usefull instead 😛 (and botting is not a concern anymore).

that certainly is a way of doing it It's probably the way I'd try to do it if I really wanted to change the meta. (I don't mind it changing but if it doesn't change that's fine too). But I'd say in general public campaigns for what you believe in add some spice to orbis.

If you think i hold any real power or have anything to move away from you're mistaken. I am (outside of interally inside of rose) one of the least influential people who frequents this forum. That being said i have proposed meme wars, in private just because they would be funny. I do not believe the personal attack here is fair. I am open for meta changes, and i certainly am not the big puppet master stopping them. All I am saying is that people who are very pro changing meta this or that do not seem to remember that there are reasons why it is what it is. And certainly do not seem very concerned about looking into the concerns that people have listed.

Yeah this. I (and "many" others i know) became compeltly numb to this game after NPOLT. You could delete all my cities tomorrow and i wouldn't even care. What can (for a rose member like me) top a nine month war where tens of friends left the game, and all of rose was reformed under valk's leadership before NPO mass deleted with cheating scandals. That being said I certainly am not against meta changes. But I feel this point is really important.

Rose has no reliance at all on borg, loctus or any other systems that have anything to do with him. Yet I am here, calling it most likely bs (untill i see some much harder proof). I don't think TKR has any reliance on it (do correct me if i am wrong) yet @Adrienne was calling it a hot steaming pile of absolute bullshit. Hence you are in fact completly wrong.

I want to mention (as "evidence" per say, not discussion). That we kicked kiwi when we found this out, then he re applied. This is what those logs look like: I don't think Kiwi has an account here on the forums but as far as im concerned his communication with Rose about this whole incident have been moving smoothly and he has been cooperating with getting verified.

I agree. But you know, I don't think it's that easy. I'm quite the useless fa person, but I feel / recall many alliances aren't a big fan of having less grip over others. In unity is strength or something. Id say smaller alliances are often affraid to speak out because the sway in their sphere isn't too big already, but it's bigger that way then not being in a strong sphere at all.

If we have enough people playing this game for 50 spheres of the current size the game would have to grow a lot, and we'll of we have that many people these kind of spheres would indeed have to lead orbis' politics. Those will probably clump togheter too but I digress. option one is theoretically possible, but I ask you how? Seems nesrly impossible.

I mean if you just wanna aim for mediocrity that's fine? But like, I thought people said bots were game breaking or some shit. If alliances wanna stay mediocre that's their choice, maybe they should look inward to figure out how to put the talented people they have to work then.

I will barge in here, but I have been in Rose for a while. It seems that me and Adrienne share minds on a lot of issues. And once again i'll agree with her here. We have 18 people working in IA (It's a bit more but i deducted leadership and advisors, this is just high govt and down). I've been in many itterations of rose IA, I have lead IA (as low govt) for months. At one point a long time ago I was the only person doing IA in all of rose, nobody else did it. That was ofcourse a low point but we have had many peaks where we had less than 18 IA too. During all these years our IA has (afaik) never been this big, and if it has it hasnt been by much. Our econ departement consists of nine people (once again excluding leadership and advisors). Our milcom departement consists of 11 people. Here too I am excluding advisors and leadership, in practice the number is much higher because when a war breaks out people (advisors) like Kurdanak, Valk, DTC and quite probably Potpie + a handfull others all come out of hiding and do milcom work too. The idea that some people have that governments have shrunk is quite honestly not in touch with reality. Ill go one further, just yesterday we made an announcement because we need more people to keep the machine that is Rose turning. Instead of focussing on checking in game if we have wars declared on us during peace time, we can make out government members do more usefull things. Rose has a whole website (something like bknet but less in depth). We do not use bots to transfer bank funds, or demote and promote members, we do all of that in game. That however doesn't mean that we dont use bots. We do. We believe (well I believe, I am speaking in my own name), that the menial boring tasks should be automated. Our website was made by someone who didn't know how to code too well before joining Rose, now he has used it in his job applications. Yes it's something everyone can do. I believe it should stop at everything that actually commits actions in game. Spam messages, demoting people, logging in to seem active etc.. Every alliance who's govt is shrinking needs to look inward, because if we always need new people (we are literally always looking for more people, and I think / know TKR is too), I am wondering why alliances that are number 26 (hypothetical example, no shade to whoever that is) wouldn't need that because they have bots.

Maybe my memory fails me but. Whaling Corp + some NPO higherups were banned becuase of weird mangha distribution and tax farming bots. NPO was dealt aniother blot after they managed to set their tax rates to like over 100% by avoiding the front end of the tax menu. The first thing would not spawn in 150B, nor frame anyone. The second thing could spawn in 150B but the glitch had to happen trough someone with NPO tax manage perms, which borg did not have if i recall correctly. Unless he hacked into the PNW servers after a months long war to change NPO's tax rate after NPO was virtually dead already; to really kill them off one last time. But I have serious doubts about that. It feels very implausible. All the other accusations are dishonorable at worst (if they are true which i dont know) and don't warrant moderator action. About the morality of bots: That certainly is a discussion to have but that should happen in a diffrent thread.
