Meonesia Defeated at Spanish Meonesia
Andrezj Kolarov replied to Ekejen Luish's topic in National Affairs
Velika offers support to Meonesia in their attempts to unify their nation and drive out the imperialists. -
The idea is basically two new military units; Land Mines and Sea Mines. You can surround your entire land or sea borders with mines, at maximum your mines are 100%, which means that your entire land or sea borders are completely mined, you can buy 20% of either land or sea mines a day, meaning it would take up to 5 days to completely mine your land or sea border. What would mines do? Well in defensive battles they would greatly increase the casualties the enemy takes and increases your chances of winning the battle, even if your are outnumbered. Land mines would destroy attacking Soldiers and Tanks, while Sea mines would destroy attacking Naval Ships. What's the down side? Well firstly when mines destroy enemy units they also destroy themselves (obviously), so you would need to pay to constantly replace them, and you can only build 20% a day. Also mines make it unsafe to launch attacks, so if you have land mines deployed you cannot launch ground attacks, and if you have sea mines deployed you cannot launch naval attacks (no matter what % mines you have). You can of course launch airstrikes while still having mines deployed. Also, if you have Sea Mines deployed, not only can't you launch naval attacks, but you can't trade either. Both types of mines can also be targeted and destroyed by enemy Aircraft. How much would they cost? Not sure on basic prices, but they would cost Steel, Munitions and Money to build, but they wouldn't have upkeep cost. How much exactly would depend on how big your nation's total land size is.

On the topic of new spy operations, I've got an idea - Surveillance: Surveil Ground Forces (Soldiers and Tanks) Surveil Air Force Surveil Navy Surveil Missiles Surveil Nuclear Weapons Basically what happens is your spies can infiltrate a nation and photograph/map the locations of their military forces, making it easier to plan and execute military operations if you're at war with that nation in the near future (because you know the locations of some of their military forces). For example, if you surveil their Ground Forces, if you're at war with them in the future (say within 20 days) then your military will do extra damage to enemy Soldiers/Tanks in offensive battles. Same goes for Air Force and Navy. If you surveil the positions of the enemy Missiles, then that makes it easier for your Iron Dome (if you have one) to intercept missiles from that nation if you go to war with them in the near future. Same goes for nukes, it increases the chances of your Vital Defense System to intercept nukes from said nation.

That sounds like a lot of clicking.

Does that really matter? (genuine question)

Fair enough.

OOC: Even if it was, that doesn't excuse such a lazy treatment of an important event.
-
You need 500 land per 500 infrastructure, and you should ONLY purchase land 500 units at a time for price reasons.
-
OOC: This has to be one of he worst RP threads I have ever seen around here, Ryas have you been taking RP lessons from Abu Haddad? One !@#$ lousy paragraph for something as important as invasion. I'm not even going to bother posting because it would be validating the terribleness of this thread. I'm not bragging, but when I make an RP thread about something, even things that aren't that important, I always make sure there's multiple large paragraphs with lots of information.

Don't think so http://politicsandwar.wikia.com/wiki/Approval_Rating It was probably removed.

I agree, the approval system is fine, it should be expanded so if you have 100% approval you get a small income bonus, and if you have a rating under 50% you get a small income penalty. As for luxury goods, as I understand there was a suggestion for consumer goods but it was ultimately rejected by Sheepy/Alex. I guess consumer/luxury goods are just one of those unseen parts of the game, even at the max tax rate of 46.63% your people still have over half of their income which you don't get, so you can assume they spend that money on stuff they buy at your shopping malls etc.

Velika is formally neutral in this crisis.

Do nuclear attacks destroy soldiers, tanks, planes, etc?
Andrezj Kolarov replied to Baumgilad's topic in Game Discussion
It's mostly a balance thing I guess. -
Is there any way to destroy another player's projects?
Andrezj Kolarov replied to Baumgilad's topic in Game Discussion
Because it would be ridiculously overpowered, NP's are very expensive and they and cities can only be built once every 10 days (real time). It would be like if you could destroy cities. -

Was it actually passed? If so I approve. Not enough information to judge yet. -
People's Republic of Velika Q&A
Andrezj Kolarov replied to Andrezj Kolarov's topic in National Affairs
As Slavs we consider you a brother nation, though I doubt relations between our governments will ever be great as a result of your seemingly close relations with imperialistic countries like Sweden and Evenstar. I don't even consider them as nation, they're closer to an organized criminal enterprise. -

We consider Khevin a great friend of the Velikan people. We do not hate any nation, though we are disconcerted by your seeming disrespect for Velika's sovereignty and socialist form of government. -
