  1. This sounds pretty ridiculous to me. You're comfortable casually insuring $50M loans? I doubt you'd just pay for it out of your own pocket if one went under, so swapping defaults is pretty much void unless you actually intend to do that if things go wrong.
  2. Bonds are open again, with a cap of 40M. Rates are subject to change, but are currently 8% weekly.
  3. Aaaand, we're back. Kind of. I have too much money and I hate nation building, so I'll let you people build your nations with it instead. Cash Avaliable: $20,000,000 Daily Interest: 1.5% off the original Minimum Loan Size: $10,000,000 Members of The Chola are exempt from the Minimum Loan Size and are eligible for reduced rates. To apply, post here or PM me with the following information: 1) How much money do you want? 2) How many days do you want the loan to last? 3) How much money will you owe at the end? Use (1+0.015*DAYS_PASSED)(LOAN_AMOUNT). 4) What do you intend to do with the money? Once I give you the money, I will simply expect the agreed-upon amount from 3) back within the number of days specified in 2). If you get it back early or something, I'll return some of it, and if you run late, we'll just recalulate the numbers. Your loan is more likely to be approved if: 1) You are in a reputable alliance 2) You are not engaged in military conflict 3) Your nation size is reasonable compared to the loan amount
  4. That uh, isn't how economics works. Who are you making your proposition to raise the price of uranium to?
  5. When two nations are engaged in a war, either nation, in addition to being able to offer unconditional peace, has the option to offer 'conditional surrender'. One nation (henceforth referred to as the 'winner') offers to peace with its opponent (the 'loser') in exchange for compensation as a game mechanic. The winner may set an amount of reparations/booty/bounty in money (and resources?) to be exchanged for peace. If the invitation is accepted, the war ends and the agreed upon quantity is transferred from the loser's nation to the winner's. The outcome of the war is listed as a victory for the winner and a defeat for the loser. The loser is not given the standard beige recovery period following its defeat in order to prevent abuse, but the standard ceasefire timer between the two nations still applies. If this is implemented, this would allow pirates to pirate more conveniently, stupid raiders to properly lose wars and pay reparations in one go, and pixel huggers to flee from war more easily.
  6. I would reward people for flying the TrumpFlag for a longer period of time, since for example right now there's no reason to enter and change the flag until Jan 20. Maybe you should give each person a number of tickets/entries based on the square root of the time that has passed since they changed their flag, or something. Also, this is pretty clever. Well played!
  7. 'Imminent' is perhaps the wrong word. I highly suspect there will be a war, and it's better safe than sorry. also I am potentially saving money to buy nukes and this is a decent excuse
  8. The Veritum Economic Sector is not envious at all. The Veritum Economic Sector thinks obtaining nuclear weapons is the least reasonable thing ever. The Veritum Economic Sector wishes it had more influence over the idiots in the Veritum Defense Council. The Veritum Economic Sector is slightly envious of the pixels used in construction, but only a little bit. o/ Ansom Use your nukes wisely.
  9. I think one could refine this into something more tasteful like '1 credit to leave a message/comment/vandalism on someone's nation that is visibly separate from the actual nation description and can be removed after X turns'.
  10. You do understand Princess Bubblegum would change every single one of your nation descriptions to 'TRUMP 2016', right?
  11. Giving VIP subscribers a checklist to enable and disable each individual advertisement is a pretty reasonable idea. It isn't fantastically intuitive in general to bind it to trade embargoes, and it doesn't seem like a feature that is too hard to make independent. If it stinks that much, buy a credit every month with ingame pixels to have VIP. It costs less than 1.5M per month at current prices.
  12. Well, then people could just embargo everyone who posts ads in order to disable ads, when that's normally a VIP feature.
  13. The Veritum Defence Council has unveiled its newest scheme this evening despite the bitter outcry of the Veritum Economic Sector's representatives and the skepticism of its political advisers. Having considered each of other the available National Projects available and deeming each one in turn completely useless, the Veritum Defense council has decided to set a goal of December 25th for the construction of Veritum's first National Project, a Nuclear Research Facility, and the acquisition of a single nuclear weapon. The Veritum Defense Council would like to assure the whole of Orbis that unlike some unruly nations, Veritum intends to use its nuclear weapons solely as a means of deterrence measure against raiders and as a symbol of national pride. As the Economic Sector likes to point out, this project will entail an economic burden without precedent and will significantly set back national growth. The evidently insane members of the Defense Council, however, will settle for no less. Public economic services will be suspended starting December 15th in order to save money for construction. Even so, economic analysts have extrapolated that with so much capital tied up in storage and inside other nations, Veritum will be approximately $20,000,000 short by the Defense Council's deadline. In a shameless attempt to recoup some of the costs, the Veritum Economic Sector has initiated a crowdfunding campaign for the remaining sum and will be accepting public donations by means of a public trade offer. Depending on the progress made by Christmas Eve, the project may be completed, it's deadline extended to New Years', or the project may be scrapped. If the project is abandoned, all funds raised will be returned in full to their respective owners. The leader and nation name of all benefactors will be forever immortalized here regardless of the outcome of the project as a public thank you for their contributions. tl;dr: HELP ME BUY NUKES AT 5000 INFRA GUYS
  14. I think a sort of city relay would develop where each nation buys cities off of nations 58% as large as themselves and sells them to nations 175% as large as themselves, in which case the cities are slowly transferred down the war range line and collect at the largest nations. This doesn't seem like it would be too great.
  15. A fundamental problem that needs to be addressed is the imbalance of loss/gain. A city is worth little in the hands of a small nation, and a huge amount in the hands of a large nation. This can lead to exploits like small nations selling their cities to slightly larger nations for a hefty profit, since value is generated out of nowhere.
  16. C Temple didn't quite state his case in an effective manner, I am afraid. He obviously does not literally wish for Cynic to attack former PUPPETS members. However, he is making a fair point by illustrating the double standard at which the terms of the treaty are being executed. As PUPPETS does not exist, I would personally consider the peace terms defunct to start with, meaning that Cynic has no NAP with C Temple, and simultaneously, no valid casus belli. However, if we do in fact insist the treaty is still in effect, one should note that Cynic promised "resumption of war [against PUPPETS]", the only reasonable interpretation of the terms, which means that Cynic is not properly invoking the violation of the treaty either, seeing as though C Temple is one former PUPPETS member among many. In my opinion, Cynic has no casus belli for his attack if the treaty is not in effect, and is breaching the spirit of the treaty if it is. Of course, if Cynic wants to attack C Temple and nobody is going to stop him, then it's not like any of the lawyer stuff even matters. I just don't think Cynic should pretend to be all righteous about this.
  17. Glad to work with you once you're ready. Sorry for not catching you when you had it, you can shoot me a PM to make sure I notice if you wish
  18. EDIT: Embargo has been rescinded. Good man.
  19. The Veritum Economic Sector would like to express mild apprehension as to the notion that recent events might slightly delay the repayment of FireChiefFraggle's loan.
  20. Destroying cities would be nice, even with no refunds whatsoever. EDIT: I also like Pax's idea, although I still wouldn't able to quickbuy to 10 cities :[
  21. Bump. Rates are back to normal. I'm not sure, but I think that ingame advertisement might have been more beneficial than I thought. While I scrounge up another credit, have fun with periodic post spam.
  22. Absolutely! Rates have risen to 8%. I wouldn't expect this service to end anytime soon, although rates may vary with the demand of money in the future. Uh, yeah! Sure.
