  1. You could always communicate via discord to get answers, crazy concept I know.
  2. Most the issues come from the gov that Deraj brought with him. Every person involved in this mess (including Deraj) comes from the SnB side of the merger. I have high hopes in the Serene Wei side correcting the ship. Given the leaks showing the mess they were in, and everyone apparently agreeing they're a mess. It's quite odd people are at the same time opposed to the removal of the leader overseeing said mess. Cypher needs new leadership, and they now have it. They can't blame Deraj much from here.
  3. Doesn't account that most people have the bulk of their warchests in banks and not nations...
  4. Proposed Minor Changes & QoL Update Please give feedback to the following proposals: Proposal 1: Changing the word ‘Join’ to ‘Apply’ when attempting to click the ‘join’ button on the alliance. Reason for change: Reduces any confusion for new members. *Proposal 1 has now been implemented* Proposal 2: World News & RP Expansion Add dislike button Add view counter Add sort by views dropdown Add go to page input by paginator Reduce overall size of comments on bulletins Fix archived 404 error (when you have >1 page of archived bulletins) Tags: Add tag field to bulletin create Add filter by tag to search OR: Add bulletin categories Reason for changes: 40-100 est active bulletin users Engaging for new players Growing usage Used by a number of communities Proposal 3: New treaty types: Extension MDAP (Mutual Defense & Aggression Pact) Reason for addition: More accurate treaty types and easier to understand for newer players. Proposal 4: Highlight alliance members when trading on the market. Reason for addition: Easier to trade with friendly nations from a glance. Proposal 5: Export build button automatically copies city build into your clipboard OR remove the need to copy + paste builds. Reason for change: It’s annoying and even more so for mobile users. Proposal 6: Referral bonus change. After x amount of time, you will begin to receive a small % of the revenue of the nation that referred you. Reason for change: Current bonus isn’t worthwhile and doesn’t encourage older players to invest in newer ones.
  5. The Road Map Ahead As we near the end of the year, I thought it best as my first announcement as design team lead that I update you on the state of the game. Context A bit of context, the design team has had some significant changes since the last update. The obvious one being me taking over from Village, but we’ve also had quite a few design team members move on. Furthermore, Village was our main coder and his irl situation has become more busy. Our former slate of ideas that were proposed to the game has had to be adjusted. Basically there is less coding happening at the moment than we had at the beginning of the year. We are therefore focusing on trying to be a little more concise and make things easier for the coding Alex will do and Village when he gets more time. Focusing on one large project at a time and trying to build on pre-existing game mechanics where possible (if you could keep that in mind when suggesting ideas it would be appreciated). What does this all mean? In simple terms, game projects like perks have been parked for the time being. Ultimately that project was never going to be simple and likely would have required quite a few updates even after release to rebalance or add to. I get that may upset some of you but please do believe me that I think ultimately this may be a good move. Ideally we will make up for it by having more interactive and fulfilling updates going forward. The Future: The large project The design team is currently focusing on Military generals. It has had a decent amount of ground work completed as a proposal and something Alex has personally given interest to. We are hoping to link this idea to re-tooling baseball into a more relevant game mechanic (more to come on this at a later date). I cannot really give a firm date on when we might see this mechanic. It is certainly something we would like to see in the game ASAP once the design process has been completed. You should expect to hear from me (or someone from the team) again on this soon with more details. The Future: Building on current mechanics & continuing with formerly proposed changes Tariffs were a announced change that seem to have a high approval but were never coded into the game. You can find the original proposal thread here: The other aspects we’ve been exploring are ideas surrounding colours, projects achievements. Ideally we’d like colours to become less focused on booting newer players and alliances off a colour going forward, this one is still early days but if you have an idea please do voice it! Achievements are also fairly early in the works but basically we want to have more achievements with more relevant rewards. These could not just be cash rewards but also projects or reductions in city/project costs. E.g. Completing 30 raid wars at c11 allows them to be granted a free Urban Planning project. Ideally these would be a mix between assisting smaller players to be able to actively do things in the game to see faster progress but also some larger aims for whales to aim for. Again, any further ideas for this would be greatly appreciated. Projects, no my current aim is to not add a bunch more projects and call that an update (although I won’t rule out adding any). I do however believe it is about time we look at rebalancing a few. This doesn’t just mean making a few obsolete ones more relevant (fallout shelter) but also making the price make a little more sense. Will have more details on this soon. Quality of life tweaks, there will be an announcement explaining a few minor tweaks to current things in the game. The distant possible future: This is the part where I will likely spit ideas out but do not expect them to come any time soon or even at all. A few new mechanics we would like to introduce are national and alliance decisions. Whereby you can make a decision to improve your economy or military but with significant debuffs for other areas of your nation/alliance. Colour councils, allow players and alliances to have more politics around colours. Tariffs, voting and embargoes. Revamp perks, I feel like perks moved away from ‘choices’ to just some interesting ideas that are basically just a reskin of projects. I think if we strip it back quite a bit and start basic we can add more over time. The design team is also looking for some new members to join our ranks. If you’re interested please hit me up.
  6. From a game design point of view, I agree. I have a feeling the moderation team may not look so favourably upon it. I'll ask @Dr Rushand see what his opinion is though.
  7. The design team has never focused on advertising. We do not code anything and half the suggestions thrown at us are underdeveloped and do not explore how it would be implemented. The bigger the suggestion, the more scenarios and issues we inevitably run in to (looking at you perks). The first half of this year (when we had someone coding) was mostly dedicated to fixing the game which had multiple issues. One being a war system that was bugging out consistently and the other being a massive influx of resources into the game effectively making them worthless. Both these issues took a considerable amount of time to code and fix. We burnt through two design leads and one coder doing it. The game will likely get (and this may be optimistic) one large update a year. That's just the reality of the situation the coding aspect of this is. The design team has a few ideas sitting there but unsurprisingly people are not going to spend hours on trying to problem solve for mechanics that never will see the light of day. We are therefore narrowing our scope to more manageable and likely to be implemented projects. I will be posting a new roadmap next month but I thought it best to temper your expectations now. If the game wants to be more fun in the short to medium term, it really is going to come down to political players to make things exciting and engaging.
  8. This merely happened as a negotiating move to get more gov spots in SIN for the future merge. Smart play.
  9. I have, I'm not publicly calling for changes in threads etc. I have made comments internally about what needs to happen if things are to proceed. If they don't happen, then so be it. I won't be sinking time into it until the decision is made.
  10. The issue being, whenever a coder does get time to code something. We will have basically nothing for them to code for at least a few months. Seems rather odd to waste this time we have now, not getting at least organised for whenever one of the coders gets time again. There are some structural issues in the team. You can go ask former members about it, that truly needs the ability to moderate who is apart of the team. We could elect someone but there is a central issue as to why this change needs to happen. The team choosing a lead (doubt it would even agree on that), would have effectively no power to deal with the current issues. Honestly if @Alex cannot or will not choose a new design team lead, then that is a sign that he has no intentions to move this game forward. I'll continue to wait and hope he gives a response.
  11. If it makes you feel better, people still routinely backstab me. So that aspect of the game is yet to stop.
  12. I agree, delete all American references from the game so that we're not reminded about how much of a shithole it is.
  13. Maybe we'll be given more than 72 hours to do it this time.
  14. Won't someone think of the professionalism of the Politics and War community? This is a very srs bizness
  15. New cities begin with an additional 990 infrastructure and 750 land (Aka cities start with 1000 infra and 1000 land) Missiles 5% less likely to hit your nation (requires ID) Missiles 5% more likely to hit enemy nations (requires Space program) Reduce city timers after c10 by 24 turns Every war won, reduces perk timers by 12 turns Adds a +25% effect modifier to the nation's selected Domestic Policy (requires GSA) Increase log in bonus by 1 million per day
  16. I for one support this war on food.
  17. Nukes have slowly gotten weaker as the game grows. This is a needed buff imo.
  18. Please wait patiently as you are about to be assimilated.
  19. I refuse to retire. You can't make me.
  20. One way to ruin your alliance rep I guess. I somewhat get it, aim high and then have them negotiate down to where you want to be. This was however a pretty bad mis-step and there are people experienced enough in this war who should have stopped it. HS coming out now and acting like the community is the problem for being understandbly annoyed by the term also always ends well. Maybe it's time to go back to t$ if that's where the mindset is at?
  21. Before I see more concern about time management of the design team, we're not all dedicated to war changes. I personally have had very little involvement and am instead working on a new feature. We have quite a few people now, just because one thing is posted/suggested does not mean that's all the design team has focused on.
  22. I'm still in favour of going back to 2019 war mechanics
  23. They were making 30m a day about 72 hours ago.
  24. We just gutted lower tier raiding, where nations were pulling in 30m a day. But 8m for 60 days is too high?
