  1. Overall plans: Initial Weight: 188 lbs. (BMI 25.2) Target weight: 135 lbs. (18.3). Original plans: fast for ten days until November 30th, then eat again for 10 days. On December 11th, begin another 10 day fast. On January 1st, begin a 7 day fast, with the second week being recovery and maintenance, with 7 day recovery. On January 14th, begin another 7 day fast. Starting the 28th, begin periods of 3 day fasting and 3 day eating. The goal should be roughly 150 lbs by the start of February. Fail point: 84 hours, cause: unacceptable heartburn likely indicating esophageal ulcer. Linked to excessive consumption of diet soda. Will likely do tea instead in the future for caffeine fixes. Last observed weight: 180 lbs. Modified plans: Take one week recovery time, then between November 30th and December 11th, seek a total of 156 hours fasting (approximately 6.5 days) intermittently. The last few times I did this I actually did a lot of cycling, and lost about 20 pounds that time.
  2. Around hour 80, I had to abort this fast as my diet coke (dr. pepper, specifically) diet triggered horrific heartburn, likely creating an esophageal ulcer. Broke fast with some spicy korean Ramen, which isn't exactly the best choice. Unfortunately, I think I'll have to break diet for 7 days to try to get the esophageal ulcer to heal. Note to self: you're getting old, watch what you do with your gastrointestinal system.
  3. Enough for 135 lbs / 61 kg to render me underweight.
  4. First Fast, Hour 58: First, kids, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. Fasting over 72 hours without medical supervision is dangerous, and I don't think it's impossible I could suddenly drop dead over the course of this fast. Moreover, I'm taking vitamins and fish oil to try to keep me in shape, so I'm not completely going 0 cal. As for the main story: I started attempting to fast to achieve rapid weight loss. I've considered myself a bit too fat, and my goal is currently to become underweight for the first and only time in my life right now. I could bore you with the details of doing so, but the goal weight is about 135 lbs. The time I'm planning to lose to go from 190 lbs to 135 pounds is about 4-5 months, or 120-150 days. As of right now, my last constant weight was about 183 pounds, indicating that I've cut 7 pounds already over the last 58 hours. The first fast is scheduled to last about 240 hours, with the goal of reaching 175 or 170 lbs by November 30th. Afterwards, I'm planning to take 10 days break to eat, exercise, and try not to gain more than 5 pounds. Then the second fast of 10 days starts, with the goal to reach 160 or 165 lbs. Afterwards, there'll be a period of recovery, after which I'll switch to 7 day fasts with 7 days eating, with the aim of reaching 150 or 155 pounds. That should drop me to near zero body fat, after which I'll attempt 3 day fasts and 3 days recovery time with the goal of hitting 135 lbs.
  5. The figures given include RSS. If we're discussing Pantheon incomes being shit, one of the reasons is that Pantheon leadership alienated out its Econ leader who ran off to TCW and spilled the beans on what was going on in Pantheon. The econ lacuna is one of the reasons George managed to get a hold of the Pantheon bank. @Epi Total game wealth (not money supply) is likely to be between 1.2 trillion and 2 trillion once you consider RSS. So the reports of generation levels is quite believable, when you consider that most of the game wealth in the game is stored in RSS.
  6. If you buy 244000 credits you can ban any player you want! (244000 credits maps to 10 million dollars, i.e, you buy out the game and just ban the people you don't like). Also, if we're talking about Rose, there used to be a Rose Gov member who bought Rose members 10 credits a month. I think that was Oblige.
  7. 2 Billion. Tell me, Abbas, last war Mhearl and I negotiated a deal wherein Rose would hit its own protectorate for 10,000 USD, but we never signed the contract. How much would Rose want to switch sides this war?
  8. Lately, HKers set a counterprotester on fire as well as killed an old man with a brick. https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/politics/article/3037822/hong-kong-protests-elderly-man-hit-head-brick-during-clash
  9. This was an old peacetime estimate and included RSS prices. As far as HOW Pantheon got bank-stolen: #1, there's things that literally cannot be posted on forums as while true, they're rules violations of this forums. #2, Pantheon is like Arrgh, but also its opposite. Arrghies who leave Arrgh tend to be loyal and stand up for its interests. Ex-Pantheon generally hate the alliance for "some reason". #3, You guys really should ask MTG about current conditions in Pantheon.
  10. I also want to point out that the "stated" bank quantity of 10bn is equivalent to 5 days of NPO's full income. Pantheon, were it not turtled up ridiculously (and that's what scared EM off), would have been able to recover it in about, what, 14 days of 100/100, spread out over a few months; 21 days if we go by the observed bank loot quantity. As someone who buys bonds, the quantities involved seem minuscule to me.
  11. The total bank stolen is actually upwards of 16 bn if you go by NPO's war stats. It could be higher because IIRC there was a second Pantheon bank operating at the time, and that was supposedly cleaned out. I'll also point out that it's less than the value of infrastructure on TCM, for starters. Elijah balked when he heard what Pantheon government wanted. @Lord Tyrion, good luck.
  12. This is something people have been waiting for for, oh, I don't know, about 3 years? If they finally get a breakthrough, then that's great. If not, I think no one would be disappointed, ever.
  13. Just finished Chandler's Man in the High Window, but Chandler I think is getting rather droll. I also finished an omnibus of Lafcardio Hearn's Japanese ghost stories; wondering if I should redo Mills' The Power Elite next.
  14. I mean I generally reject the liberal consensus because it's pretty paranoid and obsessive about governments. And government isn't the only thing that can make you miserable. Look at Bourdieu's theory of multiple capitals, i.e, economic means are potential sources of oppression, so are social factors (racism, or the fact that you're not attractive to your desired gender). As for Francis Fukuyama: .
  15. Also I've been advising Culture of Honor: The Psychology of Violence in the South. I don't think this is the definitive text on "cultures of honor", but it's a very interesting look at PnW culture via description of something else. However, it's like $41 just for the f-ing Kindle. If you want, I can help you find significantly cheaper copies if you want.
  16. You realize I posted that exact quote? You were being invited to hate-read Rand, as though there's any other reading possible. Now I'm thinking about doing Genealogy of Morals (again).
  17. Unfortunately, Battlestar Galactica doesn't provide the right questions, but we're almost close enough.
  18. Don't worry, I lost 900mn lifetime on Keno. Did quite a few 50 million games as well. It's tempting to try to luck my way back, but I'd have an incredibly low chance of just breaking even. These days, if I'm in a Keno mode, I just stick to $1,000 bets. Quick and entertaining way to blow a million.
  19. Don't we already have too many confusing alliance announcements of late?
  20. I think in Discord i've repeatedly discussed potential exploits in Keno (i.e, pooball x 10,000,000, when the peak income from broken Keno is 500,000,000,000). It's possible that Keno HAS been broken and it's been taken down as a consequence. There have been no official comments on Keno, hence it can be assumed that the removal of Keno is an emergency fix, which implies the discovery of a game-breaking exploit.
  21. Basically, this is an incredibly ambiguous thread. On one hand, Sphinx has indicated that TCW has given BK 72 hours notice, without specifying what it's about. On the other hand, Sphinx has indicated that he looks forward to a future relationship with BK. ==== In other words, the OP is ambiguous enough that information in it could be construed both ways. However, what is definite is: -Gorge is no longer princess of The Commonwealth and a new candidate must be elected. -TCW will fight alongside BK for the rest of the war. The second statement could also be interpreted liberally. Definition of alongside (Entry 1 of 2) 1: along the side : in parallel position 2: at the side : close bya guard with a prisoner alongside alongside preposition Definition of alongside (Entry 2 of 2) 1a: along the side ofthe boat docked alongside the pier b: BESIDE sense 1standing alongside me 2a: in company withmen she has been working alongside— Richard Halloran b: in addition toa special category alongside the awards it annually presents— Horizon https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/alongside I.e, this can be read as a DoW on BK as well. ==== In either case, only BK and TCW know exactly what the 72 hours is referring to, and I'd like to think they also understand the intended use of alongside.
  22. Most of these are history books. Corey Robins looks interesting along the lines of Fromm's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escape_from_Freedom , but I'm a nihilist who tries to avoid rather tinged works. As I've said in your Discord, I'm fond of environmental histories https://smile.amazon.com/Retreat-Elephants-Environmental-History-China/dp/0300119933 https://smile.amazon.com/Japan-Environmental-History-Global-Change/dp/1848851162 These are essentially Marxist readings insofar that they view history as driven by the mechanism of production (i.e, the environmental base determines agricultural productivity, living standards, and economic output). This is also a book I'm fond of. https://smile.amazon.com/Better-Angels-Our-Nature-Violence/dp/B005SA64YS/ref=sr_1_1?crid=FPK460JALEBA&keywords=the+better+angels+of+our+nature&qid=1573241575&s=books&sprefix=the+better+angle%2Cstripbooks%2C160&sr=1-1 And while this is not a major historical work, more a "World According to Clive Pontings", it's interesting as an attempt to de-Eurocentricize World History. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/0712665722/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i5 I'll note this is the guy who tried to leak BS by Thatcher during the Falklands War, was fired for it, and took up an occupation as a historian afterwards.
  23. .01 cent, just to get the bidding started again.
  24. When Syndisphere got forced back into the war, res prices spiked by roughly 50%. If you assume linearity (supply and demand curves don't really work like that), that implies that the supply of resources in-game dropped by 33%. Farksphere is roughly equivalent to the Syndisphere assets thrown in, or, in other words, resource supplies fall by at least another 50%. A big problem with KERCHTOG$, or their strength if you look at it from the other perspective, is that they think they ARE the game. But when you recall that KT was bragging that they were winning while BK had more nations, KERCHTOG$ isn't the game. It's a small and vocal minority of players that comprised the traditional power elite of PnW. BKNPO represented more players, #1, #2, Farksphere's population is only slightly smaller than KERCHTOG's..
