  1. I always love these threads, easily the most interesting IC posts in the game. Also I got knighted! !@#$ yeah! When do we get wasted and joust?
  2. I love you so much for this
  3. Before I begin this post, allow me to start with a story. One day, MrBooty was walking down the street. "Damn," he thought, "my booty is finer than all. I'm so glad I decided to legally change my name to MrBooty. Who cares if it cost me my family and job and my grandmother wrote me out of her will? And god damn I love making pointless exposition for the point of improving the story and explaining plot points the author is too lazy to show himself!" But then, as fate would have it, MrBooty happened upon a booty finer than his own. Clad in red leather, with a long ponytail and an agiel at her wrist, his match was met. He fell to his knees, weeping at the sight. Crawling forward, he approached, attempting to grab the booty, to hold and cherish it. He was smacked down, and in his tears and pain he could only muster a plea asking who she was. "You aren't worthy, reprobate, but I am a Mord-Sith." The Bootylicious Accords Article I: Both the D’Haran Empire and The Light Federation (hereby “the bootiestâ€) shall refrain from touching one anothers booties, and will back the [removed] up before they get smacked the [removed] up. Article II: If anyone attempts to touch either of the bootiest’s booties, the other is obligated to smack them with their pimp cane. They can also choose to pimp cane someone else together, if needed. Article III: The bootiest will both handle any discussions about their own, or others’, booties in private, as modesty is key. Article IV: Either of the bootiest may admit their lack of booty and resign from the agreement, if a five day notice is given. TL;DR: TLF and DHE sign an MDoaP Signed for the D'Haran Empire: Pax, Lord Rahl Verlion, Secretary of Economics Wolfwyrm, Secretary of Defense MrBooty, The Lord of Light Alataq, Regent Erin, Beneficiary of Military Affairs Dekyne, Beneficiary of Recruitment Frederick I, Beneficiary of Internal Affairs Kim Il Sung, Beneficiary of Economic Affairs Baker Harrington, Beneficiary of Foreign Affairs
  4. If it was best hero, I'd just say omniknight because I fluctuate between an 80 and 90% winrate on him He's one of my least favorite to play though. Laning is really annoying as a melee support with no harass abilities. I like playing Enigma and Antimage the most overall
  5. They're similar in nature and in some core mechanics, and using past evidence to support future design is just common sense. No, they're not entirely the same, but I think more important to note is that if anything, PNW is more prone to the top-heaviness that plagues other nation sims. Having multiple avenues of expansion, one of which is physically impossible to destroy and makes rebuilding significantly cheaper, means that unless the mechanics are rebalanced a little we're going to end up very quickly in a situation where newer nations have little to no impact. We definitely don't need mechanics that make it easy for overnight god nations, because that isn't fair to older players. We also can't just make a static change like "cities up to #5 have no timer", because eventually we'll get to the point where those 5 cities don't matter at all compared to the biggest nations anyways. A change that dynamically allows newer players a slight catchup would be nice.
  6. Also, based off those numbers, I ran a scenario of what it'd be like when the biggest nations had 20 cities and 25 cities (which are both a good while away at this time) to see how it'd hold up:
  7. A big portion of everyone's arguments is "I had to wait with this system so I want other people to wait" I disagree with that. I also disagree with the idea of removing them entirely, which allows uninhibited growth and does screw older players. What I'd argue for is a system that allows for some slight acceleration in the growth of small nations, based off of the size of the biggest nations. Right now, if we continue down our path, we'll become yet another nation sim that is extraordinarily top-heavy in sizes and where there isn't as much a chance for new nations to become relevant. It's happened with (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways), it'll happen here. Yes, avoiding war is a good way to grow, but not only is that not always an option, you have to account for the fact that many top nations will eventually be those avoiding war until they're well beyond the reach of most nations (and we hardly need another DBDC here) One possible function could be: MAX(MIN(([Your Cities]*25)/[Largest Nation's Cities],10),3), which results in the following numbers:

Would you say your alliance is... Bootylicious?

  10. There appears to have been an issue with several of the flag images being taken down. I replaced them for any alliances that still had their flags up, but Cobalt and SWF currently have theirs set to the French and Irish flag, respectively, so I'll be waiting on a response to update theirs.
  11. Not quite. I collect anyone who's active and willing to work with us and follow our rules. Ibrahim is in DHE under the condition that he chill out on the forums. Since then, he has never advocated for any extremeism and/or violence (though he did toe the line in his thread regarding Paris by posting something along the lines of "stop bombing the middle east and this won't happen", he was told that was unacceptable and asked to stop). If he ever does so, he'll be removed, and he's well aware of that and agreed to it. Some people have expressed their distaste over us taking him in, but in reality things have gotten a lot better since then and imo people should be happy about that. I feel like if Ibrahim literally never posted on the forums over the next year, people would still be going on with their witch hunt for him, but why? It's not like getting mad at him and trying to attack his nation is going to stop him, if anything that's just going to provoke a response. Just let him be, he'll chill with us, and if he does anything you find offensive then talk to me and we'll sort it out. We're not unreasonable about this stuff.

  14. There probably shouldn't be an empty pair of parentheses if you don't have an acronym set, it looks weird
  15. I don't support a lot of what Ibrahim posts, as he often posts things that I consider over the line - I just think it's important to note a distinction between advocating for attacks on members of ISIS and attacks on civilians. The discussion of bombing cities like that is still a difficult one (notably that civilian casualties are always likely in such attacks), but it's a very different one in comparison to direct attacks on civilians and I think posts like Harms' are out of place in any situation.
  16. This was the post I was primarily referring to, Rozalia. It does seem iffy given the context, but alright.
  17. It was mostly directed at Harms, who seems to be advocating for bombing the entire city. In the context, your posts also appeared to be supporting that stance, though that isn't entirely clear.
  18. and to clarify: No, I don't support the things Ibrahim is posting in this thread. I just think you guys are acting ridiculous regardless of them
  19. Are you guys actually serious? I get that Ibrahim is good at upsetting people, but sitting here advocating the burning of a city with over 200,000 civilians is screwed up regardless of which side it was on. If that ever happened the other way around there would be an international uproar. Not everyone over there, shit, not even a majority of people over there support the cause of ISIS or do any of the !@#$ed up things that a reasonable person would advocate against. It's a massacre of more people than ISIS has killed in total Ya'll need to chill just as much as he does, everybody goes full retard the second he posts.
  20. Dude... chill. Just let people mourn the dead in Paris, and if you so choose then you can address the fact that people are also being killed in the Middle East. Both situations are !@#$ed up and bad, but coming into a thread and posting something that basically seems like a "they deserved it" isn't doing that. No, the lives of the French are not more important than the lives in the Middle East. But the lives of the French aren't unimportant either, and the killing of civilians shouldn't be rationalized by anyone from any country.
  21. To be fair, Ibrahim, extremist groups have a long-standing history of claiming to do things that they didn't actually do. It's been happening for decades now. Though I do think they probably were the ones to do it in this case, it's possible somebody else could have.
  22. The D'Haran Empire officially follows the Bond Master Rahl guide us. Master Rahl teach us. In your light we thrive. In your mercy we are sheltered. In your wisdom we are humbled. We live only to serve. Our lives are yours.
