a Statment from Hansarius and the United Purple Nations
Tenages replied to Ole's topic in Alliance Affairs
We object to this statement and find it factually inaccurate, my good man. The clause is in the treaty because when our alliances signed, it was at the height of SK-Guardian, and there were worries on both sides that either UPN or Guardian was gonna go after each other again, and we'd get end up with a treaty conflict. It's in the treaty because we mutually agreed we wanted to avoid that. I did write the clause, but as I just showed you a in logs, I told Mort "add, edit, or delete to your hearts content" UPN's your #1 ally, and you guys roll with them. We have no problem with that. We expected you to roll tanks with them. We talked, and you told Us that if tanks rolled, you'd be on UPN's side (as SK expected you would.) We both agreed on the clause for a reason, because we both recognized we each had allies that were more important to each other, and so we rationally designed a clause that would eliminate treaty conflict if those allies clashed. There's no need for revisionist history making it into something that was designed specifically to bite DEIC in the ass. (Logs for everyones reference: http://pastebin.com/hkKxs6Ad ) *Edited to correct mistaken memory on my part, and incorrect characterization of what Mort said. -
I actually asked Pre about you Sargun and he said "Tell him he's on unless war breaks out, then I'm getting someone from the war." Sorry man. Blame Ole.

No herald has arrived at our gates bearing notice of cancellation. So far as We are aware, the Braavos Accords are still active.

So uncivilized up in that great white North of yours. Us southrons smile, greet you with polite words, and then bash you with a warhammer.

Well met Brotherhood of Clouds! Fighting with and for one's allies and blocmates is an honorable venture. We welcome you onto the field of combat. P.S. Should be "fomally" not "formal" in the DoW

Thanks for at least fixing the formatting Ole. Man though, I gave you guys a real pretty DoW way back when. I'm a little hurt by this effort tbh. -
Congratulations on your treaty, and on causing the OWF to ramp up to what I'm sure will be a new peak in shitposting. On the other hand, you caused Inst out of his cave, so I'm gonna have to give you a demerit for that. On the whole though, congrats to both of you.

Charming Friends and The Light Federation MDoAP
Tenages replied to MRBOOTY's topic in Alliance Affairs
I don't understand this clause. Presumably the treaty means the treaty can be renewed by unanimous consent. But A) there's no clause by which it automatically expires, just a cancellation clause, meaning there's no need to renew it. And obviously any agreement can always be renewed by unanimous consent of the involved parties. That's literally true in 100% of treaties. If everyone involved consents, then by definition you have an agreement. tl;dr this clause is redundant and dumb. -
BREAKING NEWS: 'Syndicate-SK secret meeting unveiled'
Tenages replied to MrHat's topic in Orbis Central
Like Partisan or myself would let this opportunity go by. The royal spokesperson of Seven Kingdoms has learned well from our example. When asked for comment, one should irritate and inflame powerful foreign entities at all opportunities. -
I don't think anyone is suggesting a situation in which it's mandatory to have a system were the higher tiers pay more taxes. The suggestion is for the option to set the tax to whatever you want in different tiers. If your alliance wants a straight tax, just set all the tiers to the same amount. I.E. you already have the option to do whatever you want in a tiered system.

Announcement from Seven Kingdoms and The $yndicate
Tenages replied to Tenages's topic in Alliance Affairs
Thanks to the lobbying of WANA and Cody, a spoiler was included this time. Glad to have this posted. Couldn't beat the news media to the punch, but rest assured, one day the headquarters of the Orbis News Network will be immolated in fire, and the last word their cameras will record before turning into melted slag will be "Dracarys." o/ tS -

https://politicsandwar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/7885-a-rose-at-sea/ The Rose-DEIC MDoAP was a temporary 30 day one, and those 30 days expired back at the beginning of September. I was talking to Clarke earlier, and he confirmed it wasn't renewed.

BREAKING NEWS: 'Syndicate-SK secret meeting unveiled'

Goddamn reporters man. You just can't get of them. The herpes of professions. -
As per SRD's suggestion, the show is now available in itunes, and you can download old episodes and subscribe to new ones. You can search itunes for the "Prefontaine Variety Show" or just follow this link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/prefontaine-friends-variety/id1045137063 If you don't use itunes, but still want to follow updates automatically, you can subscribe directly to the RSS feed: http://7kingdoms.net/radio/feed/podcast/prefontainevarietyshow And finally, starting tomorrow, episodes will once again be linked on the SK Radio archive page: http://7kingdoms.net/radio/archives/

You actually still have to deal with hosting for an itunes podcast, they just provide an easy place to download it from where you'll potentially get a lot of exposure. They being said, the hosting issue has been solved for now. The show recordings have been reformatted as a podcast and submitted to Itunes, so assuming they accept it (can't see why they wouldn't) you'll be able to listen to it, and download new episodes through Itunes if you want. I'll also continue to maintain an archive page on the SK website (at the same link as in the OP) though the episodes won't be hosted on our server. And I'll also provide the RSS feed so anyone who wants to can follow the show using their client of choice. The archive page on the SK site should be functioning again by the end of tomorrow.

............. ............... /headdesk. Are these bigger nations now unable to leave the alliance? No? Then no, it's not possible to "steal money from bigger nations." The tax rate you're paying is stated right there in your revenue page. If it's more than you're willing to pay then you can leave the alliance. This is true in the current system, and it remains true in a progressive taxation system. Nothing is being stolen. Words have meaning.

Apparently enough of you now listen to the recordings of the shows that you've driven our server over it's monthly bandwidth allotment (which we've never come close to in years of hosting shows for various political sims.) Well done We're waiting for Mikey, who pays for our server, to show up and resolve the bandwidth issue. We'll also be changing how we host and serve the shows so this doesn't happen again going forward. As a temporary stopgap, I threw up the recordings from last night here: http://www.chirbit.com/Tenages

Obviously I'm around if you need me. I imagine I'll be broadcasting it anyway, since Malone isn't available on Sundays, so if I'm doing that I might as well join in and kibitz.

I do tend to take a back seat to Pre (at least in the mechanics segments, the balance is more even in the politics segments.) He's just far more invested in that aspect than I am. Also I was just enjoying sitting back and letting Pre take the lead, it was a nice change from other games where I was the host driving the show and doing the majority of the talking. I'm happy to have anyone who would like to join in the mechanics discussion, just shoot me a PM. Or just hit me up during the show to do a call in.

http://pw.mdlwebs.com/radio/ ^direct link to listen. As for call-ins, it depends how the shows going. Sometimes we take them, sometimes we don't, depends how the show's going and where we're at time wise. To do a call-in, (assuming we're broadcasting during skype, which I think we are) send your skype username to myself/Pre via query on irc during the show. If we've got time for call-ins, we'll add you to the call.
