The Canadian Army thanks Britain for their kindness in letting them pass international waters. In other news, Canada has decided to reach out to the non-player controlled nation of Morocco in secret.

 

The Canadian and American troops pass through the Strait of Gibraltar uneventfully, and Gibraltar is now approximately 5 kilometers behind them - about 15 minute's travel as today is a beautiful sunny day.

The American navy stopped just inside the straight of Gibraltar, cutting off any passage in or out. The submarines continued forward, just behind the Canadian ships. The airplanes, already prepared, took off from their carriers and swept around from the north and south, targeting Canada's unprepared aircraft carriers. On the signal, the entire American navy opened fire.

Back in North America, the American and Soviet drill forces have crossed the border into Canada, marching at a southeast angle. The remaining US forces, currently stationed around North Dakota, have invaded Canada and are marching at a northeast angle that will allow them to meet up with the American-Soviet force moving from Alaska.

As soon as the initial attacks began, Soviet forces would go to high alert, and preparations to finish of the Canucks and defend the USSR would be made.

 

In the North Pacific, the Soviet Pacific Fleet would swing into action. At any given moment, there would be 20 submarines operating along shipping routes, targeting Canadian military and civilian shipping. These subs would mainly be Schuka-class and M-class attack subs.

 

Soviet aerial forces drilling in the US would also see some action at sea. 10 Be-6 maritime patrol aircraft would be taking turns patrolling the seas. Armed with torpedoes, they would work to attack Canadian military and civilian ships at sea. These aircraft would work to avoid the Canadian coastline and Canadian combat aircraft. At any given moment, 3 of these aircraft would be out on patrol.

 

However, the air force would also be seeing its share of operations over land. 200 MiG-15 aircraft would be providing cover to soviet ground troops. 20 Tu-4 bombers, escorted by another 100 MiG-15s, would be dropping 1,000 kg bombs on Canadian positions along the border.

 

On the ground in Washington state, some 500 Katyusha rocket launchers would move to the border and open fire on the largest Canadian positions. Some 1,500 D-44 field guns would be used for smaller targets. Backed by this artillery, 50,000 Soviet troops, armed with all manner of weaponry ranging from anti-tank guns, mortars, and rifles, would roll over the border with their American comrades, moving to destroy Canadian units along the border. With them would come 1,000 T-34s, and thousands more armored cars.

 

In Alaska, Soviet troops, 10,000 strong, with 100 Katyushas and 250 D-44s, would also advance. These forces would also have a variety of equipment, and thousands of armored cars and 100 T-34s.

(OOC: Soviet tactics: spam everything. Plus, this is the early Cold war, so there's still a lot of ww2 sized militaries around. Actually, my force that I sent in is probabely pretty small compared to what the USSR could have fielded. My navy is just targeting anything that's left in the north pacific, plus civilian ships.

 

As a side note, there are backup/reinforcement forces still staying back in Washington and Alaska.)

The Malteses navy has formed a screen, a semi-circle creasent from the Spanish coast down to Moroccan coast to contain the Canadian navy as they come through the straights. On the signal, the Maltese navy closes in making the net tighter as ascend on Canadian convoy, leaving them no way to maneuver out of harms way. The Maltese navy may have smaller ships, but they are fast and agile and their main focus is on destroying the less armored bridges of the Caniadian ships. As they make their approach, deck guns start their rapid fire sequences and the few ships that have torpedoes launch in spreads of 3 per ship in a 1.5 degree spacing once they are within 400 yards. This spread will cause the torpedoes to hit within 10 yards of each other for maximum effect.

Canada, having done some basic research on missiles, and having scraped the tip of the iceberg on nuclear bombs, sends several missiles at Washington, D.C, New York City, Chicago, Buffalo and Minneapolis - aiming at the downtown cores of those cities and important military bases. 

 

Canada calls it's emergency citizens militia into defensive mode - every single citizen with a registered firearm and those who are in the militia take up defense of their cities. Canada's valuable assets are transported to a secret location. Then, emptying it's military bases and leaving the citizen militia to defend, the military is split into 5 major divisions. 1 to attack Southwest British Columbia, 1 to attack Edmonton and Northern Alberta, and 1 to attack Calgary and Southern Alberta. Another division is sent, along with civilian militia, to the far north. The recently completed missile launchers hit Russian cities, although they are rather lacking on range - meaning that the Canadians unfortunately are unable to hit any Russian towns of importance.

 

Canadian tanks are ready to go as well, and the medium sized, but well maintained air force begins diving deep and strafing troops entering the Canadian border. 

 

The Canadian Navy begins to run from the American navy - all except for the aircraft. They, having sustained losses, take what is left of the divisions and begin bombing American planes. A massive fight begins, just 15 minutes away from Gibraltar. The remaining ships begin to run deeper into the Mediterrean, headed for Malta. The Canadian navy is the same speed as the Americans however and the commanders use this to their advantage. Sending out some submarines and heavy bombers, along with ships equipped with rockets, those ships take incredible casualties, but manage to hold the Americans off until the bulk of the Canadian navy can exit American firing ranges. Meanwhile, a very tight air formation blocks American bombers from bombing Canadian ships.

Hearing that Malta has turned against Canada, engineers, nurses, construction workers and even troops in Malta begin turning on the city. Killing citizens, shooting Maltan police officers, destroying buildings, and burning the Canadian Embassy in Malta down. The small garrison force in Valetta is unprepared and Canadian troops, stationed there to keep order, begin mass killings and burnings of the city.

The Maltese special forces also sabotage the Canadian's harbor, sinking an old cargo ship at the mouth of the harbor and placing mines, both floating and submerged, so ships will not be able to come or go. Malta's police force begins rounding up all Canadian civil worker and starts detainment proceedures.

All travel to Canada is suspended and trade is suspended too. Companies are allowed to develop businesses that mine, farm, etc at way reduced rates with approval from the Government, and Canada appears to be self-sustaining.

 

Meanwhile, Canada begs for help from Europe against the Soviets - The USA, Soviet Union and Malta.

 

Citizens of Ottawa burn down the American and Maltan embassies in Ottawa, and the American/Maltan flags are defaced in an extremely embarrassing manner by a particularly un-shy citizen.

 

The Canadian Navy, or what is left of it, begins to attack Soviet naval positions near Victoria and St.Johns (Newfoundland). Hitting on the Soviet positions hard, Canada manages to clear out two pockets - for foreign aid to come through. The question is: "Will there be any?"
