On May 7, 1992, an Oil Rig owned by the ATLAS Corporation became the target of a rising Terrorist Organization simply known as the Red Faction. The following is a detailed account of the attack, as taken by security cameras at the facility. At approxomatly 2:00 in the morning, 19 armed men were parachuted into the facility from an unregistered plane. 15 of the men were armed with assault rifles and explosives, while the other 4 appeared to be armed with LMGs. They landed just outside the western facility, which contained all of the main controls for oil shipments, as well as many of our holding tanks. At 2:04, the Terrorists broke into the facility, killing all the technicians inside. The alarm was raised, and security began rushing to the scene. At 2:07, the Terrorists had blockaded the exits and doors into the Western facility. Two men began working controls, which we later found out had cut off all oil poplines. The 3 other men began placing devices on the oil holding containers. Security tried breaking in, but were stopped by the blockades. Military forces were contacted at this point. At 2:12, Military forces had arrived and breached the Eastern blockade, storming the facility. 14 of the terrorists were killed when the facility was stormed. Before the final ones could be apprehended, one of the bombers pulled a trigger, blowing up the oil containers and killing everyone inside the Western facility. Fortunatley, the explosion did not do as much damage as expected, as it was mostly containted within the concrete walls of the building. However, it is still a crippling blow to the ATLAS Corporation. 17 ATLAS Technicians and 14 ATLAS military and security forces were killed in the confrontation, with 20 others suffering severe burns and injuries. Oil production has been cut and half, and all oil operations have been halted. ATLAS CEO Jonathon Irons made an emergency meeting with his heads of state earlier today, and we are still awaiting his press conference, which will take place at 5:00 PM tonight. Military protection has been increased, and our country has officialy been placed in DEFCON 3. A memorial service for those lost in this terrorist bombing will take place next week, and all are encoraged to attend to comfort and support the mourning families. This is ATLAS news, signing off.
