Greene
So here's a problem I'm running into. I want to tax some resources at one rate, and others at a different one. Is there a way we could get this implemented? 2 Quote Formerly known as Grealind of Resvernas (28 October 2014-29 August 2017) and Greene of Japan (29 August 2017-28 Septmber 2017) 7th Caretaker of Duat, the Deity Thoth
Administrators Alex Posted November 14, 2014 Administrators Share Posted November 14, 2014 Too much work! And also, a lot of work to manage, and a pain to store all the separate variables and add all the calculations in at update time. This has also been suggested before, and we decided that expanding the tax rate to both an income tax rate (money) and a single resource tax rate was the best option. Quote Is there a bug? naTia
This sounds like a good idea to me. You could tax whatever is needed, while letting say peoples' food supplies alone. We need a list of already requested features Although... that would require people to actually read shit before posting 1 Quote Orbis Wars | CSI: UPN | B I G O O F | PW Expert Has Nerve To Tell You How To Run Your Own Goddamn Alliance | Occupy Wall Street | Sheepy Sings TheNG - My favorite part is when Steve suggests DEIC might have done something remotely successful, then gets massively shit on for proposing such a stupid idea. Greene
I read, just apparently not all of the threads... Wiliam
Great Idea, but I guess you have to balance how much work it is to implement as opposed to it's actually usefulness. I guess there are better ideas which require less work to implement and manage. Agreed, we should definitely make a list.

Hereno
Who knows? Anyone who read this post - that's who. i actually did read that post. read the whole thread. it is obvious that the amount of work to be put in is less than the benefit we get by expanding the game in this way if you want a complicated economy, don't stop halfway through and just fudge it 'till the end... give us a fully functioning economy with all the bells and whistles there's no real reason for it other than sheer laziness. i don't consider that a valid reason. Emmad
Totally like this idea, have thought so since the start. But I can see how it would be so much work to have it done.
Greatnate
If a separate rate for each item is too computationally expensive, I would recommend at least allowing variable tax rates for food, raw materials, and manufactured materials.

This would be a lot more feasible. 2 Quote Is there a bug? Report It | Not understanding game mechanics? Ask About It | Got a good idea? Truth be told, this is more in line with what I was hoping for anyways.
