  1. Vanguard has decided to take a new direction as of tonight. After our lackluster performance in the recent war, the membership of Vanguard began discussing the future of the alliance. With morale at an all time low due to our defeat, we quickly determined that the status quo was not a viable option. If we kept the status quo, then we would keep being attacked by alliances as a means of proxy war against our allies. Vanguard could not have asked for better allies than the Viridian Entente and Rose - whose support was invaluable during our struggle - and we regret that we were not able to do more for them. It is with heavy heart and after much deliberation that we make this announcement. First of all, we apologize to our staunch allies in Paragon for our poor showing in the last war. Thank you again, VE and Rose, for your unending support, friendship, and well-wishes. We have been only a burden to Paragon and you both deserve so much more. With this in mind, Vanguard hereby withdraws from Paragon and cancels its unilateral treaties with VE and Rose effective immediately. Secondly, Vanguard hereby enacts a "paperless" foreign policy effective immediately. We will not allow ourselves to be another alliance's burden. Until such time that we are confident that we wouldn't be a burdensome ally, we have decided it would be best to not be an ally at all. Finally, we recognize that we can't quite go it alone just yet and have hired the entrepreneurial pirates at Arrgh to assist us with raiders and such. We hope their services will not be needed but will be keeping them on retainer indefinitely, just in case. These were very hard decisions for us to make and we did not make them lightly. Perhaps one day Vanguard will return as an active player in the politics of this world, but for now we have to focus on our own internal affairs. We kindly ask for the understanding of the world as Vanguard moves in a new direction. Sincerely, Mr. Hat Commander of Vanguard
  2. BREAKING: Sources - Seven Kingdoms and $yndicate Corporation on verge of signing major agreement. News leaked late last night of high level talks occurring in Tyrosh between $yndicate corporation officials, and representatives of Tenages II of Seven Kingdoms. Now our exclusive sources indicate that under discussion is a far-ranging, comprehensive agreement covering joint investment opportunities, strategic cooperation, and most-favored nation status. The agreement would represent a shattering of the status quo; for as long as can be remembered such economic cooperation with Westeros was the exclusive domain of the Iron Bank of Braavos. The Iron Bank is not known for taking such setbacks lightly; the repercussions of such a sea change will surely be felt for years to come. This is a breaking story, it will be updated as information becomes available. UPDATE: t$ and SK spokespeople confirm earlier reports of impending agreement In a statement, the $yndicate board of directors said "We’re excited about our new partnership with the Seven Kingdoms. We’re always on the look out for promising investments, and partnering with dynamic, high energy clients is a cornerstone of our strategy. The first step of this partnership will be to capitalize on the strategic value of dragon glass. Events and developments in the north of Orbis which have raised demand for the precious metal, in combination with the inherent rarity of dragonglass, have resulted in a large gap in the market. We are confident that exploiting this demand will allow us to corner this high growth market and leverage it as the core of our new market power structure." A spokesperson for Seven Kingdoms had the following to contribute: “This is the type of decisive action that leads to sustainable, lucrative ventures. Though we have worked with the econo-political power structure of the Iron Bank for centuries, recent decades have seen our treasuries slowly dry up as a direct consequence of inaction. The Iron Bank's failure to recognize, and its inability to capitalize on the increasingly essential dragon glass market is representative of the lack of innovation which has become the bank's trademark attribute. The Iron Bank's fading relevance has opened up a myriad of economic opportunities, and we are excited to exploit them alongside our new partners. Fortune, and the Seven, favor the Bold. May the Crone, she that knows the fate of all men, continue to guide Seven Kingdoms and $yndicate, and may the Smith lend his aid in perfecting this joint endeavor. In the Light of the Seven, we walk, an example for all mankind."

  7. Jesus a joke turned into shitshow. No one's whining, we were isolated in a bloc with #1 and #2 ofc we were going to have to take on a bigger alliance, and that's fine. Mensa is putting up a good fight and I'm having fun. Everyone else can ayyy lmao and no one bats an eye. We try to make a terrible joke and get !@#$ on
  8. I gladly accept this new position. And I WILL MAKE SURE THOSE BAD GUYS IN ROSE GET DESTROYED
  9. False. Just because you didn't know it was coming, doesn't mean that Hodor/upper gov didn't as well.
  10. You may have had your vote a week ago, but Hodor didn't let me know until 78 hours ago, and our treaty had a 72 hour notice. Coincidence or no?

  14. Good luck, democratic alliances are terribly inefficient though.
  15. Honestly this would only affect small nations just from a cost perspective of the higher cities.

  17. So there is no way to see if the recipient has read? I understand now, but it just seems a bit confusing as it says read for messages I've sent.
  18. So I don't believe the "read" messages column in game works the way it is intended too. For some reason I think it's showing that I have read my message rather then saying whether the intended recipient has read it - this is how I interpret it should work. When I send messages and go back to my inbox, the (right below) column immediately says that all of the messages have been read, when I know that isn't true: My apologies if this has been brought up before and you've already clarified sheepy.
