Instead i'll resume being myself, an actor who has -to his own detriment- torpedoed the status quo whenever stagnancy threatened to arise in the past years while others sat around eating crayons.

Maybe you should eat crayons if it is not detrimental to your self. I am sure there are doctors that could prescribe it.

  2. I did not know this thread was posted when I messaged you earlier but I am quite saddened to hear about this. I hope you feel welcome and can dm me always regardless of the fact that you are playing or not. Goodluck with this and I hope your abusers get reported. I do hope you return to the game sometime and have a much better outlook of it.

See now this was a good post cept for ome part.  The shady part. Everyone in their right mind knows politics are simply shady. As well  will be bold and state shady is what makes politics as well know that backdoor deals are what makes everything.  But the whole thing is u dont bring the shady put and e pect it to solve anything.  In public when ur doing this just makes all to not trust anyone whether ur the leader or just a peon somewhere in the AA.. hence why blaming each other makes it all worse.  If u dont want to offer ur own surrender terms I get that but that does not mean u still can not be more aggressive in the back channels.  If there is no back channel make one and invite people... and maybe without terms start talking bout a leaf game or football game or Roqs exhurberent hair style or something .. but just because terms are not being discussed as demanded does not mean simple conversation will not lead to solutions

Now that's a name I haven't seen in quite some time. Hey there Bruce.

    Keep fighting the good fight!

Considering we have enough money around and goodwill to help grow and support new communities like yours to transition into this game, I think we are doing impeccably well. But hey to each his own.

    2 Billion.

Tell me, Abbas, last war Mhearl and I negotiated a deal wherein Rose would hit its own protectorate for 10,000 USD, but we never signed the contract. How much would Rose want to switch sides this war?

I believe using real money to do anything ingame is a bannable offense. I think for 2 billion pw cash we can spy people for you. The money has to be in escrow first.

    We are an honorable alliance.

Asking for a friend here, how much did the members get paid for each spy op? Also can you connect us with people that pay for spy ops? As your ally it would really help us out in our rebuild if we can get paid to spy on Coalition A.

    Call me.

Well let's see if this holds up since this is a big change. Is DTC going back to Oblivion after or ??

Don't know. He has recently become less raidy type. His flavour of the season right now is staying in rose.

It's not explicitly clear. Everyone knows the comparison is a joke. You're using on paper stats for that. The numbers don't do much if people have an expectation of winning right away or not trying, so by getting hit first and losing a lot of military in the first round, many of the less experienced alliances gave up pretty quickly. I mean this has happened pretty frequently in globals, so trotting it out is awkward. I personally told Cov/BK when they originally approached me they should be able to make use of the forces already in the war, but the will just wasn't there for a lot of the people and eventually they either dropped out or deserted or went inactive. Suiciding is still considered crazy by a lot of people, even and those people will drop out/halfass. The reason your coalition has gotten so many withdrawals is  mostly due to people not wanting to play correctly and do what it takes to win. You're in way worse shape than a lot of the alliances who peaced out.

There aren't enough alliances for those to be separate spheres and it would leave you and KETOG to be the strongest. I've already gone over how most of the heavy hitters in KNightsfall aligned with KETOG/Rose and the transfer of members from rose to KETOG who were the heavy hitters of Rose was done in a conflict shortly before Surf's Up.

Convincing people who we have nothing in common with at all whose interest is for us to gimp ourselves by letting dominoes fall is pretty useless. It wouldn't have been a utopia and we'd have not been able to beat the other spheres ourselves alone while also triggering considerable resentment by sitting out despite having the ability to make an impact. It would have been a repeat of previous wars where two spheres weren't sufficient on their own and chose to let the other take the bigger hits or just not enter at all.  We had to break that cycle.  Your notions of smaller ignore military capacity and informal connections. For instance, there was zero possibility of Boyce/Bluebear/etc. or Rose's big boys ever opposing KETOG in any sense.  We can all imagine fantasy land where abbas is opposing keegoz/sketchy xfd. ockey is gonna hit abbas totally and so on. So no, having people like DTC/other whales and GOB/Guardian in the same orbit doesn't cut it for me. Sorry.

Actually I have blocked ockey over 5 months ago. Sketchy has stopped talking to me and keegoz is no longer on speed dial. But I am still tight with DTC yes.

It's non-chaining, so T$ entering via an agressive war and getting countered means that NPO doesn't have to enter. TC MDoAP is chaining through the BK-TCW treaty and is therefor defensive and not aggressive.

[insert Chad MDoAP vs Virgin MnDoAP meme templete here]

Good to see you can finally connect the treaty chains now Underlord. Took you 4 years.

I feel like this is information you should have divulged to me before we started working together.

I don't think I can look at you the same way ever again now.

I am with sketchy on this.

I have never encountered a person with such delusion so as to say bulbasar is better than charmander.

I don't think replicating the test with just one party would provide reliable test results. A large-scale replication among a sample of alliances of which the ideological spread is representative for Orbis in general seems to be the only way to produce a reliable verification of your hypothesis that Rose's recruitment policies are shit.

    Cross-Orbis surveys, perhaps?

I think you are correct but this is an impossible effort to experiment. The unknowns at play and the sample size we have to generate is simple too vast of an effort. When the technology catches up in this regard then we can look more into it.

I think we can agree to disagree here and go back to the drawing board and leave this one for the philosophers.

I believe we should take a step back and reassess the methodology used for your research into causes for Rose's failure as an entity. Why did you opt for your current process over other, arguably more fitting methodologies?

The larger and broader hypothesis are always broken down into smaller experiments for testing and replication. Based on a point provided by Noctis on the rejection of his application. If the same test is replicated in the syndicate with the outcome being positive, we can verify the hypothesis on the success of an alliance based on the test subject being in the alliance and its success being measured quantifiable. As for the metrics on measurement success, I am all ears for any input in that regard.

  13. Just now, Prefonteen said:

Not everything is quantifiable, Abbas. Noctis was trying to make the point that Rose's lack of long-term success is attributable, for the most part, to a culturally bred blindness windows of opportunities. His reference to his application was merely intended to illustrate his broader argument.

I think from the definition of quantifiable we can conclude that everything is quantifiable. Noctis point is understood by us and hence why we ask as a concerned party whether our error in judgement in rejecting his application was hypothetically replicated in another alliance such as the syndicate without the rejection then maybe we could answer the question on the success of an alliance and its relation to the value x which is defined as the membership of Noctis. Simply following the scientific process here.
