  1. https://forum.politicsandwar.com/index.php?/topic/23072-chronicles-of-rokkenjima-part-3-the-history-of-rokkenjima/ Basically, real life borders for the Empire of Japan up until the end of World War II. Following the war, everything stays the same as real life up until 2008 when Taiwan, South Korea, North Korea, and Manchuria join Rokkenjima (Japan).
  2. This is a special report here on the Rokkenjima News Network. Please stand by... At approximately 3:50 this morning, a magnitude 8.9 earthquake struck 65 miles off the coast of Aguacenta in the Sea of Okhotsk. Subsequent tsunami waves reaching up to 21 meters in some areas shortly followed, striking the nation's southern coastline. As of right now, there is currently no threat to Rokkenjima's northernmost territories. We repeat, there is currently no threat to Rokkenjima's northernmost territories. If the situation changes, we'll be sure to notify the nation immediately. Following the earthquake, the Witch Council held an emergency meeting, and has offered assistance to Aguacenta should they need it. A fleet of seven Dream End Airships are currently on standby above the Sea of Okhotsk, ready to assist in rescue efforts along the coast. Should the offer be accepted, several rescue teams will descend to offer assistance on the ground. Additionally, ¥754 million (about $7 million) has been prepared in aid to Aguacenta, along with various medicines, boots, blankets, rubber gloves, and a continuous supply of food and water for as long as necessary. Once the waves and strong currents start to subside, Rokkenjima's Navy will approach to offer additional assistance. Aid to affected Chinese territories in the region has been offered by the Witch Council, however a response by China's government has yet to be made.
  3. Rokkenjima's military, known as the Rokkenjima Armed Forces, consists of three different branches. They include the Army, Air Force, and Navy. Satan Jacob serves as the active Commander of the Armed Forces. Directly serving him are his three trusted Generals - Alciel, Lucifer, and Esdeath. General Alciel sees over Rokkenjima's Army. General Lucifer sees over Rokkenjima's Air Force. And General Esdeath sees over Rokkenjima's Navy. While each of them are quite skilled in combat on the ground, their respective branches are where their true skills lie. Commander Satan Army: Led by: General Alciel Active Personnel: 2,000,000 (250,000 per region) Reserve Personnel: 2,100,000 Number of Tanks: 24,000 (3,000 per region) Rokkenjima's Army is divided up amongst eight different regions, with 250,000 personnel stationed in each one. The regional branches of Rokkenjima's Army include: Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Manchuria, Russia, Mongolia, Taiwan, and South Vietnam. The majority of personnel within Rokkenjima's Army (about 75%) are Goat Butlers, soulless creatures created by the Witch Council as a stronger alternative to human soldiers. While their strength may be enough to easily tear a person to shreds, they have their weaknesses. They are extremely slow, and are only able to withstand a few bullets directly to the head. The remainder of each region's personnel consists of humans and various beings of magical origin, with most residing in the the region they serve. Not all personnel in each region are trained in combat, however. Those who aren't are tasked with the construction and maintenance of the Army's equipment and tanks. Those who aren't trained in either belong to the medical field. Air Force: Led by: General Lucifer Active Personnel: 150,000 (18,750 per region) Reserve Personnel: 150,000 Number of Aircraft: 8,000 (1,000 per region) Rokkenjima's Air Force, like it's Army, is divided up amongst eight different regions, with approximately 18,750 personnel stationed in each one. Unlike the Army, the amount of Goat Butlers within the Air Force make up only half of its personnel. The remainder, again, consist of humans and various beings of magical origin. Three quarters of those within each region are trained in combat and operating the branch's various aircraft, with the others being tasked with the construction and maintenance of aircraft and equipment. Navy: Led by: General Esdeath Active Personnel: 150,000 Reserve Personnel: 150,000 Number of Ships: 250 The majority of Rokkenjima's naval bases are located in Japan, with one present in Hokkaido Prefecture, one in Niigata Prefecture, one in Kyoto Prefecture, one in Shimane Prefecture, one in Nagasaki Prefecture, one in Kochi Prefecture, one in Tokyo Prefecture, one in Chiba Prefecture, and one in Okinawa Prefecture. Other than those, there are two in Russia, two in South Vietnam, one in Taiwan, two in South Korea, one in North Korea, and one in Manchuria. Their precise location is classified, and the number of vessels stationed at each is constantly fluctuating depending on where they're needed most. Like the Air Force, about half of the Navy's total personnel are Goat Butlers. Three quarters of Navy personnel are trained in combat and the operation of various vessels, with the rest tasked with construction and maintenance. (To be continued with equipment and military vehicles/vessels)
  4. A knock was heard on the door to the meeting room of the Witch Council. Only Eva-Beatrice was present at the moment. She looked up. “Come in.” The door opened, and Commander Satan stepped inside. “Excuse me, ma’am. I’m sorry to bother you, but I wanted to run something by you.” “Oh, what is it?” Eva responded. “Well, it’s in regards to our space fleet. I and General Alciel don’t believe their existence to be all that necessary. They’re not even used, and we have other means of traveling great distances. Plus, the cost used to maintain them could be used elsewhere.” Eva stood, nodding. “I agree. I’m fact, it’s something that’s crossed my mind many times, so I decided to discuss it with the rest of the Council. I’m granting you permission to dismantle them. Perhaps you could use the materials to speed up the construction of the carrier?” Satan saluted. “Yes, ma’am! I’ll get on it right away.” With that, he turned to leave, shutting the door behind him.
  5. I’ll use this opportunity to voice my main complaint. I understand that Organic doesn’t have any restrictions on interaction. However, I will not sit here and be forced to interact with whatever BS someone may come up with, regardless of how weak it is. I’m not forcing you to interact with the anime stuff I RP. Arguing that these Leviathans just so happen to be entering my territorial waters and preying upon my vessels of their own free will isn’t a valid excuse. You’re still the one who is writing out their actions. I know that as things are now, removing shit like this from the RP isn’t going to happen. Since that’s the case, giant alien fish monsters, unless they come from a non-future tech nation which is highly unlikely, should not be able to interact with nations below the Future Tech category.
  6. Maybe because I still took damage? For yet another war that had no legitimate reason, I might add. Perhaps if there was one, I would've been a little bit more inclined to actually bother. But then again, probably not.
  7. I say keep this. It doesn't prevent nations from interacting with each other in the slightest. It's purpose is for protecting RPers who choose to not be as advanced as others, what with at least half of the RP capable of building space armadas and terraforming other planets. The reason I brought that up is because it's easy to get around. One could say that their vessels travel below the speed of light, thus not placing them in the Future Tech category. Personally, it's my opinion that space RP should be separate from a nation RP, but I'm willing to simply ignore it. I'll alter my suggestion. How about classifying Future Tech nations as those who possess anything beyond orbital spacecraft such as satellites, space stations, etc. and other various spacecraft that's used by RL nations? I'm aware that we send things to other planets, but as of right now, the only place other than Earth that humans have visited is the moon. I'm against this as well. So long as the technology levels are enforced, there shouldn't be a need to worry about those who possess space tech. As far as mashing the RPs together goes, don't. NatRP allows more freedom as far as posts go, so it wouldn't really accomplish anything. You can keep your stupid alien fish things, which are equally as ridiculous as all the anime references I include by the way. However, since we are in different tech levels, you're unable to use them against me. Mkay? As far as my military goes, I'm staying within the military maximums and building it up little by little. I am not required to explain how I maintain it. But while we're asking questions, you still haven't provided a reasonable answer as to how you're able to construct and maintain a space armada. As for my specifications, I'm working with original artwork most of the time and don't have anything to go off of. I have, however, explained what the primary method of attack is that each of my military vehicles use and their downsides. This is taken from my Ragnite post: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weaponized Forms: Ragnite discharge is the primary method of attack used by Rokkenjima's tanks, aircraft, airships, and naval ships, and requires a fairly large gun or cannon that is capable of doing so. The discharge of Ragnite, in the case of tanks, requires at least a full minute of charging to fire, while the larger amounts fired by aircraft and ships may require several minutes. First downside. This gives the enemy quite a bit of time to launch attacks of their own. During the charging phase, my military is basically a sitting duck. Once fired, the Ragnite materializes as a destructive beam of light, hurling through the air towards the target at great speeds. This is known to result in a considerable amount of recoil experienced by the object firing it. Second downside. In the best case scenario, a tank will be knocked back, breaking formation. For ships, they'll lean to the opposite side, throwing off the trajectory of the beam. In the worst case scenario, a tank will flip over, unable to move anywhere. For ships, they'll capsize completely. It's notable that this beam is bright enough to instantly blind anyone who should look at it with the naked eye. This downside applies to both sides. Protective eyewear must be worn at all times when these weapons are in use. Ragnite beams can be continuously fired for up to ten seconds for tanks, and twenty seconds for aircraft and ships. During the firing process, it is very difficult to alter the trajectory of the beam. If it misses its target, the firing process is usually ceased and restarted. I've already explained how easy it is for the beam to miss, and how long the charging phase lasts. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, it isn't difficult to find pictures of my military vehicles. Anyone who sees my tanks should be able to conclude that they're nothing like what RL nations use. My Ragnite post explains their method of attack, downsides, and their armor. As for Ether, I was RPing it long before the missile post was made (which was complete BS in itself, as I didn't even exist in the RP at all when they were supposedly fired at my spacecraft which again, shouldn't have existed). Much like Ragnite is an alternative to oil, Ether Rings are my alternative to a missile defense system. And they weren't just damaged. They were destroyed completely. And for the sword, it's literally just a poisonous katana blade. There really isn't anything magic about it. So long as the tech levels are enforced, again, this shouldn't be necessary. My government may be witches, but that doesn't mean I plan on using them to fight in wars. This also leads me to another topic. If anyone has read Umineko, the source material for (some) of my RP, then they'll know that everything that occurs is completely possible for humans. The challenge is figuring out how. Schrödinger's cat box is a concept that comes up a lot throughout the story. In short, it's the idea that anything which occurs within a space free from outside observation could theoretically have an infinite number of explanations or outcomes. This is why, even if everyone was forced to be human, there's nothing stopping me from saying my government consists of witches, as know one ever sees them. It's basically an elaborate game of make-believe.
  8. Ohayōgozaimasu! Welcome to episode 5 of the Rokkenjima News Report here on RNN! I’m your host, Clair Vaux Bernardus. And happy Spring, everyone! I don't know about you, but I'm certainly looking forward to the warmer weather. We even have a special Spring-themed cover image for this episode. Anyway, before I get too carried away, let's get to the news. *giggles* Starting off with domestic-related events, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom across Japan. Tens of thousands have come from Rokkenjima's other territories to witness their beauty for themselves. Places such as Kyoto and Tokyo have seen the most amount of tourists during the past few weeks. There have even been some local festivals popping up here and there. The time for seeing the cherry blossoms is almost over, however, so we encourage those who are able to visit to do so quickly! A view of Kyoto's cherry blossoms at night: Secondly, it is our pleasure to announce that the new cities of Alcamoth and Vaux-shi are officially open! I'm honored that the Council decided to name a city after me. *giggles* If you remember, it was stated that Ether would be utilized in the construction and design of Alcamoth. With the city's opening, we finally understand why. The entirety of Alcamoth floats above Eryth Sea, with the only way to enter being teleportation pods. I bet the view from the city is breathtaking, especially at night. The city of Vaux-shi, located in southeastern Hokkaido, is notable for being the island's second major city. It will also serve as the location for the upcoming space elevator, which is still under construction. I can't wait to visit! I'll probably head there as soon as today's episode is wrapped up. Pictured from left to right, the cities of Alcamoth and Vaux-shi: Next up, as many of you know already, Rokkenjima was among the four founding members of the Coalition of East Asian Nations, or CEAN for short. It was an honor for us to host the initial conference of delegates from Aguacenta, Salazarstan, and Thailand at home in the city of Tokyo. Already, the amount of trade between our nations has significantly increased, along with the number of tourists visiting Rokkenjima. With more and more allies forming in East Asia, as well as the opportunity for CEAN's continued growth, Rokkenjima has offered to construct a headquarters for the organization in Tokyo. Of course, nothing is set in stone as of yet, but we do hope to see Tokyo picked as the location for CEAN's HQ if there is one. Lastly, an update from Rokkenjima's Department of Foreign Affairs. Just last night, Rokkenjima officially withdrew from the United Nations. This comes after several aggressive actions were seen from the alliance's military in South and East Asia throughout the week. In response, Rokkenjima's own military began to increase its presence in the South China Sea, where it can more easily observe the UN's military movements whilst protecting Rokkenjima's territory in the region. The withdrawal from the UN was met with overwhelming approval from the nation's populace, with their opinion of the organization at an all-time low. Following the move, several changes to Rokkenjima's foreign affairs white list were made. As of now, greenlit nations whose citizens are permitted to travel to Rokkenjima include: the Southeastern Republic, Grand Sufi Order, Phoenixia, Salazarstan, Kingdom of Thailand, and the Republic of Aguacenta. Of these nations, those who have established embassies within Rokkenjima's capital of Evatrice include all except the Southeastern Republic. The Witch Council is currently considering allowing Rokkenjima's citizens permission to visit fellow CEAN countries. That's all for this episode of the Rokkenjima News Report here on RNN. Until next time, ja ne!
  9. @Rozalia Mr. Damien Sandow, when do you predict the great war will be OVAAAAAHHHHHHHH?
  10. Well, laying there with nothing to do does get pretty boring. And no, I wasn’t referring to Featherine.
  11. From the Rokkenjima Department of Foreign Affairs "After much discussion, a decision regarding the status of this treaty has been made by the Witch Council. Due to the recent signing of the UNSC - US Treaty, Rokkenjima will be officially cancelling its treaty with the United States of America. The US embassy in Evatrice will, however, continue to remain as will the ability for American citizens to visit Rokkenjima. That is all." - Crestia Bel
  12. When you end up in the hospital, you start to not care so much about a nation sim.
  13. Nepstation! Neptune: "Howdy, folks. Welcome to the very first episode of Nepstation! This is a new program that offers scintillating info to please players far and wide! The point of this show is to deliver timely news during chapter breaks within the story. From now on, Basilicom TVs will start to air lots of neat segments, like news broadcasts and home shopping junk! Don't miss out on any of it! Anyhoo, let me introduce my very special co-host for today, Blanc - AKA CPU White Heart!" Blanc: "'Bout time you finished. Though I must ask, shouldn't the airing of the first episode waited? I mean, we haven't even been introduced in the main story yet." Neptune: "Wow, Blanc. You're a buzzkill as always. It'll be fiiiine. Someone's gotta provide these fine people the news." Blanc: "Whatever. I guess I should feel honored to be your first co-host, given that today's news is about me, and all..." Neptune: "That's more like it! Speaking of, today's news is regarding Lowee. Take it away, Blanc!" Blanc: "Right. For the past year, Lowee has been experiencing a period of tremendous economic growth. The release of our latest console has allowed us to quite literally expand our horizons to places we couldn't have dreamed of. Yesterday, Lowee incorporated the remaining island of Java, as well as the city of Singapore into its territory. With these new demographics, it is our hope to see console sales rise even further." Neptune: "Wow, Blanc. I'm kinda jealous. I haven't experienced a console launch since 1999. I'm starting to forget how it feels. Well that's it for today! I was your awesome host, Neptune!" Blanc: "And I was your co-host, Blanc. Until next time..." Neptune: "Oh, and one last thing. The us on this program have nothing to do with the us in the main game. Thanks for understanding!"
