A musical piece simply doesn't contain enough information to change your view on something, and if it does for you - you've obviously not educated yourself enough on the subject before forming an opinion. Music can be used to expose a part not usually talked about, express feelings, sophisticated messages and the such, this doesn't mean that the analysis they provide is in-depth.

Why is it when discussing music, something that you hear, people always bring something so visual? If you're looking for meaningful visual stimulation go watch some theatrical play or a movie. Music should be mainly focused on poetry, lyrical composition & such to convey a message. Also, changing your political views because of a musical piece just means you're uneducated about the view you held.
