  1. It's true, mistakes do happen. I do indeed make mistakes, plenty of them. And it is important how we act moving forward, and learn from them, I'm right there with you. It hasn't happened yet, though. Rather than fund their members, or even consider them for a second, half the people in this thread are trying to say that I'm the bad guy here, while all I've demanded is that they follow through on their obligations. This pattern is what I hate the most about P&W; that the newbies and low-score players are treated like turds while officers and high-tier players take advantage of them. Well, I haven't condemned BK for spying on me, so who knows? As for the counter, sure. You can easily fund his repairs. But you're STILL not going to divert a penny towards actually funding cities in TRD, and you honestly think that 'honour' is more important than your promises or your allies. That's terrible.
  2. Missiles destroy hundreds of infrastructure, somewhat less than the cost of funding someone to their 6th city. But they'd rather repair that then fund their own promises. The bank records show that they don't give a damn about their members. I attacked them because they don't give a damn about their allies. I am in an alliance on my own because I am a contributor, and I take alliances and promises seriously. Despite that, I've seen far too many alliances take advantage of their members, and I won't stand for it. Your OWN alliance, The Syndicate, is not innocent either. Back during the Oktoberfest, I was part of the BoC, and I beiged one of your allies. They were active, your alliance to this day insists that they won, but they couldn't have cared less about their responsibility to their ally. The Syndicate could have turned that war around with a few thousand dollars, but no. They didn't. They wouldn't. They believed themselves ahead of their allies. Today, TRG believes themselves ahead of their allies. And you, KT, and Zodiac, all believe that they are right to think so. I disagree, and I contribute to this game by making that position clear through actions, not just words.
  3. Check my war record and my projects, fam. I won the game long ago. They're not trying to grow, they were trying to... honestly I have no idea WHAT they were trying to do, but their bank and trade records don't lie. Edit: Also my score is 533 right now, and usually hovers around 600. I don't give a damn about score though, I just like missiling people that do. I especially like launching missiles at nations that put themselves ahead of their allies.
  4. Holy **** uh Woah there, friend! I appreciate the thought, and the offer, really I do, and I have the greatest respect for your bloc and its strategy. However, I really don't need nor want any help. I've committed myself to the tactic of missiles and fortifications, and fund it off of raids and the occasional market trading whenever I can counter enemy navies. I've made my own bed here, through my own actions, and it is my responsibility and mine alone. I can't stop you from saying what you want or doing what you wish, but the reason I'm not in any alliance is because I don't want any other players to feel responsible for me. You do your thing if you want, but you really need to understand that I've prepared myself for this and it isn't lopsided at all. I'm taking damage but I'm giving as well as I get, so don't worry about me. I mean, you do your thing, I'm not the boss of you, but again, don't worry about me. No, they tried to invite me, and tried to offer me things they couldn't. I declared war with the sole mechanical demand that they do their jobs, and instead of doing their jobs they decided to escalate the war against me, spending resources that could have easily gone towards growing their own members. It wasn't until Zodiac and BK got involved that I brought it onto the forum, because that's when this nonsense got way too real.
  5. The Department of Opposition hereby condemns The Knights Templar's condemnation of our condemnation of The Commonwealth's condemnation of our condemnation of TRD. Coming to an allies' defense is always honorable and justified. Therefore, the Department of Opposition does not fault Knights Templar for standing by their allies. The Department of Opposition does, however, fault Knights Templar for their blind sympathies with TRD and their ignorance, or willful disregard of TRD's exploitative actions and neglect of their membership. KT, I expected better of you. Surely you don't support or agree with the idea of neglecting one's members? I know for a fact that your alliance does not do so, so where's this coming from? Furthermore, the Department of Opposition declares confusion over the inclusion of signatures from Polaris leadership in this post. Are you signing this condemnation on their behalf with power of attorney or something? I do personally apologize for the poor quality and low effort placed into the Department of Opposition's condemnation of The Commonwealth's condemnation of our condemnation of TRD. I should have done better. -Signed Sir Scarfalot, Director of Department of Opposition I definitely am escalating this quite a bit farther than it needs to, I'll grant that.
  6. I appreciate the offer, but I must decline. Thank you though
  7. They may well have, but their officer funded himself to city 6 right after saying he wouldn't, so your point is invalid. Why?
  8. Embarassing myself? You're the one that doesn't know how to snip. And yes, they are definitely only growing certain members right now: the officers, while NOT spending a dime on anyone else. That's called tax farming. He isn't obligated to negotiate, but he IS obligated to follow through on his promises to his own members. That he's not doing so is pathetic and shameful. They are relevant enough to be 'protected' by Zodiac, who care enough to defend them ITT. As do you yourself, evidently.
  9. I'm not actually faulting Zodiac for stepping in. I do fault The Royal Dragons for asking, however. Moreover, what I fault Zodiac for is ignoring the way The Royal Dragons is operating. Zodiac is not showing any remorse for or even recognition of The Royal Dragons' complete ineptitude and failure to even try to follow through on the promises they made to their members. Right now, you are making it clear that you don't care about The Royal Dragons' members, only your own image. Neutralize my spies if you must, but you can't stop a missiler. Side reply to side note: Why the HELL would I join an alliance like yours, or TRD? I won't pay you taxes so you can sponge off my abilities and offer me less than nothing, and treat me as less than dirt. I raid anyone I like, at any time, for any reason. And yes, I get raided on a constant basis... and always respond with at least one missile, while my opponents never make any kind of profit. I care not what I lose, I care what my opponents gain, and as long as their net profit stays below zero then I'm happy. As for my bank, here ya go
  10. The Department of Opposition (DoO) hereby condemns your condemnation of our condemnation. Signed, Sir Scarfalot - Director ------------------------------------------------------- Exactly. I'm not worried about being called a 'terrorist', and I'm not really that unhappy about the memes. That's just trash talk, all fun. The promises, though? That is a very serious problem, and I'm glad I'm not alone in my concern about it.
  11. I don't declare wars, I just oppose. It hardly counts as a war if there aren't at least two players on each side, and I'm on my own side. Well, if you read through it, you'll see that TRD called in Zodiac, a Zodiac officer is directly involved (and ate a missile), and Zodiac called in BK for spy support. I'm not calling it a war, because war doesn't imply the level of sheer disrespect I have for TRD right now.
  12. The Royal Dragons are a joke. I've never seen a more hopeless case of pathetic, and I was a member of The Bloc Death. First, some context. I am, of course, the director of the Department of Opposition, a micro alliance that gives no ****ks and raids anyone. Since I'm active and am not part of a bigger alliance, and have self-funded 9 cities (more accurately raid-funded tbh), I tend to get a lot of invitations to join someone's alliance. I turn these down, but politely if possible. So, when I got this message from TRD's economics and IA officer, I corrected him a bit harshly. Now, surely that's the end of it, right? Nope, after being chastised, he doubles down! I'm astonished at this display of mathematical illiteracy, so I look a bit deeper, and reply with this: That is the nation of the guy I'm messaging with. Their economics and IA officer had 5 cities when he sent the message. The guy defends himself with this, though: Well! Apparently I was quite wrong about this guy and his alliance. An economics officer that keeps his nation lean so his allies can grow? An alliance that really puts their members first? That's great! I must apologize. I might even consider joining, if they're actually... ....Nope. As of right now, their alliance has two players with six cities, and one with ten. All of them officers. The membership have 5 cities at most, and the vast majority have less than four. Oh, and the guy I'm messaging with gave himself a 6th city a few hours after the messages. This lying and taking advantage of new players pisses me right off, so wars were declared. I also declared war on the other officer, since his nation description promises 'nuclear retaliation' for raids. While his alliance hasn't got a single NRF. Bite me, I can't be intimidated, and I hate liars and traitors. So of course, he tries to intimidate me. I counter with a very simple set of demands. A simple, non-mechanical meme demand, and also demand that he at least make some progress towards making good on his promises of city grants. Well... That's right. Rather than spend resources on fulfilling his own promises to his own members, he's going to try to fight me. Oh, but then it gets even better! He tried to meme me with Taylor Swift's "Look what you made me do" VEVO. 248 million views, 2 weeks old. I've literally never seen a more normie attempt at meme warfare in my life. So I respond with proper meme warfare. Vocaloid, almost two years old, less than 9000 views. Because THAT is how these things are DONE. Now, that is already more than enough, but The Royal Dragons go yet further still: They call in pacts Now, there's certainly no shame in being a protectorate. And there's definitely nothing intrinsically wrong with calling on your protector's obligations. Alliances and agreements matter, after all, even if The Royal Dragons have shamefully neglected their members. However, there is indeed shame in calling in pacts against a lone-gun raider, especially when that raider replies with missiles, and doesn't give a damn about lost infrastructure. And just to put the cherry on top of this ***tshow, Zodiac gets BK involved. Because they can't be arsed to do their own spy work against a lone nation. TL;DR: The Royal Dragons fails to deliver promised city grants to their members, their Economics officer can't do math, their officers fund themselves before their members despite saying otherwise, chose to eat missiles and spend gas/munitions rather than fulfill their own promises, calls in pacts against a lone raider, and worst of all, engage in the most normie meme warfare I have ever seen.
  13. Alright, so where's the players at? You've got 8. According to OP's brag, they should easily breach 200 members.
  14. What's Good Old Games got to do with P&W? I mean, they have been releasing more and more modern titles these days but P&W isn't a retail game... (j/k)
  15. I fully understand and agree with your analysis that there is fake news being deliberately and destructively fed to the world at large. This is a very serious threat to everyone, since it is the newest and most effective form of censorship yet developed. With it, power-hungry monsters can easily take control of anything and everything, by misleading, distracting, timing their more dirty actions to coincide with significant tragedies, and undermining the credibility of actual honest and legitimate news organizations and political activist groups. What really matters here, however, is that you need to understand that Google is not above temptation and corruption. They have interests, political and financial, and they are not so incorruptible as to set those aside to serve the interests of the general public. They're better than most, granted, but they're still human. Our job as sane users of the internet is to check our facts and sources, and communicate those facts and where and how we found them along with our conclusions. This even means that we need to check claims made by people we don't trust or "facts" that seem self-evidently false, because that's how we know for sure what news is fake.
  16. Having read the rules, it is very clear that spying friendlies in order to prevent enemy action is very much forbidden... Either way, this whole thing comes down to a need to seriously buff terrorism rather than anything else. Edit: Maybe the fluff can be that spies are delivering a nuclear weapon by hand rather than by launching an ICBM? Basically the idea is that everyone gets dramatically buffed terrorism damage, but given a project they can invest a nuke or missile into the terrorist attack and thus spend it for potentially much more damage. Success or fail, the weapon is lost, since it either blew up or they destroyed it to hide evidence/prevent enemy getting nuke.
  17. Isn't that just a buff to terrorism essentially?
  18. That would be obscene. Missiles and nukes require military actions AND a war to exist for them to fire, without those limitations they would be unstoppable and very stupid.
  19. Definitely. Assassination kills too many.
  20. As an insane raiding fool, I can say that I attack anyone. However, I do make certain considerations. Here's my advice: 1. Get at least some ground army, at least one full city worth. If I see someone with so little ground army that I can win with 5000 soldiers, then I'm liable to poke them for a quick payout regardless of other factors. 2. Stay active. I will almost never raid anyone that logs in every day, purely because they can fortify and thus deny me any loot. 3. Get a navy. These are often overlooked, but they are the most efficient way to use military actions in terms of removing resistance. If someone has a strong navy, there's little I can do, active or not. Don't count on it though because I still chip through against deeply inactive nations. 4. Get at least some airforce. Even if you have the tanks and ships, if you have no airforce then you can be whittled down and beiged with ease. This is just advice for keeping me and my alliance off your butt, at least in terms of our loot raids. The only way to prevent opposition missions is to not piss us off and avoid being scummy enough for people to be able to convince us to do our pro bono strikes. Now, the other infinite horde of pubbie raider normies can and will still raid you anyway. The only thing I know of to keep them off your butt is just maximizing your fleet, spies, air, and soldiers. This won't stop them raiding you but it will make it so that you can beige them right back. Tanks are in my opinion not worth it since they cost much, much more than 40 times a single soldier. But if you want to do a peaceful strategy then they can really work. Either way, if you keep your navy supplied and reinforced, then you can sell resources to gain money to cover the cost of the military. Earlier on I was running deficit spending and covering all my costs with the login bonus and selling raw material. It really works out well for getting over the initial building phase, when you need to get the money and resources together to set up the foundations.
  21. I would argue that the existence of a statue or street name isn't necessarily honoring anyone, it's just acknowledging them. Putting up the statue in the first place was a questionable decision, but tearing it down after the fact is just petty and unnecessary.
  22. I am a solid leftist liberal, and I really don't see any reason to tear down/rename the things. History really shouldn't be whitewashed. There's something to be said for not honoring disreputable things, but that's why we don't have a national holiday celebrating either the beginning or the end of the Civil War. Passive acknowledgement, like having statues, is perfectly fine IMO; actively celebrating is different.
  23. No, it's not an exploit, it's a rational decision that still costs those that do it dramatically. Actually fortifying on time like I described is actually extremely difficult and requires literally perfect play for days. This is the best possible solution, going any further opens the door for permafarming, which is a considerable problem that needs to be avoided. The upshot of this rant seems to be that you want to be able to make profit off of attacks; this is actually almost exactly the opposite of my philosophy. I care not what I gain nor lose, all that matters to me is what my enemies gain. If I can keep that below 0, then I'm happy. I end up making plenty of resources by raiding inactives, but all I really want is to do damage, loot be damned. As for activity, you absolutely do need to be online multiple times per day for the invulnerability... there's just no way around that. Get a data plan on a smartphone and set alarms, and plan before you start driving any considerable distance. That's what I do, and I'm not even Aargh. Considering how proud you are of Aargh's activity/dedication/strategic acumen, that shouldn't be too difficult for you, right?
