That's the key difference here. It's a tough argument for me to make to them, when it's not always the same from the other side. I don't want to dictate to those other alliances where their lines on the matter ought to be, though I know they're not anywhere near the places mine are. In the times that those issues have been brought to me rather than used as attempted political fodder to paint us as trying to wage some ideological war on you, I think I've been quite even handed. What some people do to Chim in <this game> is far beyond what is acceptable to me, because he's just a mostly inactive member with a big mouth. Everyone has members with big mouths, so why is he so often chosen for scrutiny? Why did you drop that log of him speaking in a third unrelated game as if it was a big deal? I am sure anyone can find any number of logs like that. Why does this one member deserve so much scutiny, if not because of your own (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn&#39;t be bringing it up anyways) beliefs you are bringing into this game? Here he is a member who has unfair scrutiny leveled against him based on something outside the scope of this game, though: something I would try to defend any of my members from.

My opinion, which I'll keep brief: Very simply put, the message we received from Vanguard RE: a treaty being impossible simply because Chim was a member here is the first chronological blurring of the (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn&#39;t be bringing it up anyways)/PnW barrier I am aware of by a government official in this game. That person is now high government in NPO. We don't wish to bring (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn&#39;t be bringing it up anyways) politics here, but the people who committed that act are the same ones who are here pretending we are somehow the ones obsessed with issues from (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn&#39;t be bringing it up anyways), after almost two years of our alliance existing without any similar issues? You want a statement, since you asked? That's it. You want a response? Whatever it is or is not will be based on issues based solely in this game. I really wish I believed it would be the same way coming back from your alliance. But that's not enough for me to stoop to that level.

You are earnest so I'll give you an honest answer. Or at least my sizeup, since I don't really speak for NK. NK is already where they are going. They have a very different idea of what's fun than most of your alliance. Infra-fat cities are a provocation to them: A challenge.

I dunno. Technically you guys are the largest alliance in the game, and you're presumably sitting on miles of resources to mount a counter-offensive. This isn't a fair match: GPA vastly outclasses NK, and NK is swinging anyways: you can fault them for using nukes, I suppose, but they were going to get swarmed in conventional forces no matter what. You could call that dumb, or misguided, or evil, or whatever, but lacking balls? Nope.

As much as people complain about these overlong threads, at least they are a thing that is happening in this political game: something people can have an opinion on and berate each other about politically. If you are bored of these cyclical threads, go do a more interesting thing.

Did you read what you said in those logs, Steve? The way you spoke to Valakias was beyond ridiculous. Was that the "OOC attack", calling you an asshat? Also there's about sixty salient points above you ignored. When you do that, it contributes to people spitting "vitriol" at you (it's really just frustration, imo).

I don't need to be in private to say that you're doing damage. My point is that ours is less than our growth and yours is not, so what you are doing is pointless, to say little of the fact that it doesn't benefit you, your members, or your allies. If you have a lick of proof about the OOC attacks, aside from your belief that log dumping is an OOC attack (James OOC attacked me by that definition, by the way), you should query or PM me, or I suppose put it here if you want. I take that seriously, and the fact that you said it and then shied away from showing proof really soured me. Edit: How would we use you to start a world war if you didn't do anything? That seems like a good way to lose a world war. We gave a lot of time and gathered a lot of converging info before we made any kind of move on you. I know you don't trust me, but I can offer my opinion: You engineered this entire situation. You were so concerned about us hitting you, that you made it an inevitability. After all the head banging we did last war in back channels, and all the effort I put in personally to see your side, I had used up the amount of care I had for your alliance, and was content to not think about you again. Wasn't the same for you, and here we are.

That seems sensible enough, I suppose? But here's a more sensible thing: declare white peace 3 weeks ago, stop trying to pose threats to our alliance/allies, and don't get attacked by us in 30, 60, or 900 days. Whatever you like.

Although I suppose he could always surprise me by turning some small fraction of his assuredly-completely-real outrage from the post I quoted above inwards and, presumably, kicking out several members of his own alliance. I'm sure there is some very legitimate reason he hasn't done this yet, considering how seriously he seemed to take the posts by our member, and how disappointed he seemed in our response (which it's hard for even the most biased party to not recognize was "something", as opposed to Alpha gov's "nothing").
