I'm concerned there are probably a fair share that are not original work and just ripped off of a Google search. Maybe in future contests we should require the photo include a piece of paper (or equivalent, such as a sign for Minecraft submissions) with the submitter's nation name and "For the 202X Pumpkin Decoration Contest" written down

If it makes you feel better, people still routinely backstab me. So that aspect of the game is yet to stop.

We are hosting our 4th ever Pumpkin Decoration Contest, starting today! Edit: The period to be entered in the voting section for the grand prize has ended. However you can still submit through the end of the 31st to receive the participation prizes and a chance at the Staff Selection award. Here are the rules: To enter, you need to come up with some Politics & War related concept (game related, alliance related, nation related, player related, etc.) and carve it into a pumpkin. Or paint it on a pumpkin. Or paint it on a watermelon. Or build it in Minecraft. Or 3D print it. You have a broad creative license. Then, take a picture of your "pumpkin" and submit it here as a reply in this thread to enter the competition. You will have approximately 18 days to create and submit your entry. This thread will lock on October 24, and then we will have a period of voting from October 25 - October 30 where everyone will be able to vote on their favorite pumpkins. The winners will then be announced October 31. Prizes may take up to a week to distribute. *We know some players, depending on their geographic locations IRL may not have access to pumpkins. For this reason, we are okay with submissions that are carvings into other fruits / vegetables (e.g. a watermelon, a turnip, whatever you might have access to.) Or you can make a digital pumpkin. The world is your oyster! Here are the prizes: Everyone who participates will be guaranteed a special Halloween 2023 achievement for their nation related to this event and $10,000,000 The top 3 winners will receive a special nation award along with, $300m for first, $200m for second, $100m for third. Additional prizes may be added depending on event participation! Other Notes: We reserve the right to reject submissions not related to Politics and War. You can submit multiple photos in the thread, but you need to identify one primary photo that we will use for voting. We would also like to feature your creations on social media on our Politics and War accounts! If you do not want us to share your photo in this way, please just make a note of that when you post your submission. @Alex Soon I will be playing Politics and War for over 3000 days. I've enjoyed it very much and hopefully I will do so for another 3000 days. I am however a bit afraid. At first you advertised as a better alternative to Cyber Nations, another nation sim I've enjoyed for several years before joining Politics and War. At the moment I'm seeing similarities between late stage CN and PnW. The reasons have been named and stated here and on discord over and over, lack of development, hardly any hardcore new content, stagnant gameplay to keep whales paying player satisfied and many patchwork fixes, etc, etc. Ofcourse I'm glad with all the input of the development team and there are changes made but it doesn't change my feeling of late stage browsergamerites. I may be wrong ofcourse but I have two questions Alex, 1. Do you plan do hire a team (of professional/semi professionals) to work on bigger changes that are planned now? 2. Has, and if so how, your attitude towards PnW changed between the start and now? Assuming it some sort of perhaps the income source for you instead of a startup in a niche game? P.s. Let me again state that I might be wrong and missing the bigger picture here, and again, I do appreciate the work done by people on PnW (except for the new war screen layout ;-))
