I would like to see different military units or even a military overhaul to see new units added to the game.

Alr so I think that there should be new units. Potential examples include: -Submarines (maybe nuclear subs would be a project to help bypass VDS). They would fullfill some kind of naval role, such as sabotaging enemy drydocks. Or maybe bypass mines, which could be laid to act as a naval variant of fortification -Drones -artillery (ground unit used to do more infrastructure damage/reduce the effectiveness of fortified) Also, potentially make it so that when you have ground control all battles are fought on the soil of the enemy. You would "occupy" or "besiege" cities. This wouldn't actually make them unusuable but your ground battles would "liberate" them rather than attack an enemy city, with the battle doing further damage there. This could also instead be done in an attrition war, or a "conquest" war that takes small (i.e 2-5%) amounts of land and transfers it to your cities. -

In the rules it tries to limit automation within the game to prevent bots playing only as they are much more effective. I don’t think this idea will be implemented as it prevents much of the player made interactions in the global market.

I didn't get to see the original post, but judging from the responses I have a good gist that you were dealing with a common dilemma. The Discord requirement isn't an arbitrary, elitist thing big alliances have conspired to do. There are legitimate needs that Discord fulfills like instant and coordinated communication in war, bots to assist city grants and other banking needs, and a convenient platform for members to socialize and feel more like a community. Obviously Discord is not the only solution: TKR used to use Slack instead of Discord, and many alliances used IRC before Discord existed, but the basic principle remains. I don't think this is a question of who's a jerk. If you really don't want to play this game without Discord, that's your choice and there are alliances out there with likeminded people. Just know that you're probably limiting yourself if your goals in the game are high growth, effective warfare, etc.

The concept revolves around setting up an automated procurement system where, instead of manually purchasing, for example, ten units of aluminum daily, you can establish a recurring order to automatically acquire the same quantity from a country of your choice. Should the exporting nation hike up prices, you’ll receive an alert giving you the choice to either proceed with the transaction or opt out. In the event that the nation depletes its aluminum stock, you’ll be notified and either reimbursed or not charged at all for the unfulfilled order.

You should try Gallowglas, they don’t require Discord and use in-game messaging for contact.
