Man's purpose is to work for the good of the group or he'd die. Individualism has been debunked time and time again, modern day society could not work without groups. Rubbish. Andrezj Kolarov Posted April 2, 2016 Share Posted April 2, 2016 (edited) Pol Pot wasn't a communist, he was a sectarian peasant leader who wanted to literally destroy society to bring it back to some primitive agrarian state which existed before industrial city-based society, he wiped out the entire Cambodian working class (not grow it, which is the goal of all communists). The reason he and his tiny splinter faction were able to take power is because the US Air Force carpet bombed almost the entire country and the common peasants were willing to follow anyone who said they would end it. Ieng Sary, the #2 in Pol Pot's regime, was quoted in 1977 by Vickery as saying "We are not communists … we are revolutionaries†who do not ‘belong to the commonly accepted grouping of communist Indochina." Which makes a lot of sense when you consider that it was the "Indochinese" [Vietnamese] communists who invaded Cambodia, overthrew Pol Pot, and ended his genocide. Not to mention that Pol Pot after he was ousted quickly allied himself with the United States and Great Britain, and received aid and arms from them to fight against the Vietnamese and the new Communist government they set-up in Cambodia. In his state if you go against the government who is working for your good then you're a traitor, however in the current governments which aren't (to him) working for the people then opposing them is fine. Democracy is completely irrelevant to the matter. Ultimately on that basic point I can agree. In our "global" world governments are ran by quislings who are occupying us for their masters.
