  1. AWOLNATION or Styx. Take your pick for the official anthem, you can't go wrong. To be serious, I'm looking forward to working with these lads. I'd have posted the announcement myself but @Lucasensured the hospital needed extra hands on duty tonight, so I couldn't be home and near the computer to post. Here's to friendship, cooperation, and success with these group of lovely folks.
  2. By the way, I'm taking Santa Claus with me in the divorce. He's going to give me actual presents this year, whether he likes it or not, I'm tired of getting coal.
  3. This Just In From Nassau: Despite great relations and impressive profits on both sides, The Syndicate INC has come to the decision that it must withdraw its staff from the city of Uritithu. After over a month of working together, including just under four weeks of fighting shoulder by shoulder against Southeasternmost state of the United States, which had somehow gained sentience, the decision was made by the Executive Board of The Syndicate to withdraw from the newly discovered markets of Roshar. When The Syndicate called a meeting to discuss the matter of parting ways, the Executives Of The Syndicate and the Heralds of The Knights Radiant found that all present were of alike minds, and came to a mutual agreement to go their separate ways for the good of Orbis. Concerns in the landscape of Orbis of this business pairing being too powerful for the health of the game, as well as the repeated claims of a member of the Executive Board who will remain unnamed that the water of Roshar tasted exactly the same as the water from the tap in his own home, or bottles of water he could buy at a gas station led to this decision being made. The Syndicate INC wishes The Knights Radiant fair skies, warm winds, and fertile harvests going forward and asks that the business office in Uritithu be watched over and maintained, in case the markets of Orbis ever change and The Syndicate and The Knights Radiant find each other once again while looking for friendships. TLDR: The Syndicate issues its 72 Hour Treaty Cancellation notification. T$ and TKR have decided to part ways About SYNDICATE, Inc. 4. This Just In From Nassau: After extensive attempts to expand business relations to new, untapped markets, The Syndicate INC sailed west, searching for these markets. After sailing West across the seas of the seemingly infinite world of Orbis for what seemed like an eternity, a Roman and a Jester in Red finally landed ashore at a mysterious continent, and were led to a fantastical city known as Urithiru. It was here, after days of feasting, drinking, and negotiations, a friendship was born. Despite failed attempts to make a profit off of the Stars themselves, and the movement of heavenly bodies, The Syndicate and The Knights Radiant of Uritithu have established formal relations, and a bond of friendship and solidarity. The Syndicate has provided high tech weaponry and materials acquired by the economic connections of The Syndicate, while The Knights Radiant have provided previously unseen technology, technology some might call magic, and clean drinking water from the springs of Roshar, which some members of the Executive Board Of The Syndicate claim will dominate the bottled water market for years to come. To solidify their friendship, The Knights Radiant and members of the Executive Board of The Syndicate have agreed to come together to play a game of dodgeball, and prune overgrown rosebushes. TLDR: The Syndicate And The Knights Radiant Sign A MDoAP The Syndicate Declares War On Rose And Florida-Sphere For Backroom Dealings, and Hegemonic Sphere Creation! Article I: Non-Aggression Both signatories will from this point, until the end of the treaty, not partake in any form of hostile activity, be that military action, subversion or espionage of any kind, against one another, and each other's allies. Article II: Mutual Defense Should either signatory be the victim of an act of aggression, they may request military support, and the other signature is required to come to their aid, unless the former signatory had become involved in a conflict via other treaties with other alliances or blocs. In this situation, the request for aid is no longer mandatory, but is instead voluntary. Article III: Optional Aggression Should either signatory find it necessary to commit an act of aggression upon a third party, they must inform the other signatory at least 24 hours in advance. They may request military support from the other signatory, though this request is under no circumstances an obligation. The other signatory is also allowed to help the attacking signatory if no request for support has been requested. Article IV: Aid Should either signatory come into need of aid of either political or financial aid, they may request such support as is necessary from the other signatory. It is recognized, however, that this request is in no way an obligation. Article V: Intelligence If one signatory comes into possession of or is made aware of important information, be that military, economic, or political in nature, they are required to share said information with the other signatory. Article VI: Cancellation Should either party wish to terminate this agreement, they may do so with 72 hours notice. Once the notice period has expired, the treaty will be considered null and void. If a signatory violates the terms of this treaty in a grievous manner, the treaty may be considered null and void from the moment the other signatory delivers notice of cancellation Signed For The Syndicate Chief Global Strategist (FA): Tarroc Chief Operations Officer (IA): Lucas Chief Financial Officer (Econ): Keram Chief Security Officer (Milcom): Allend Goodblood Signed For The Knights Radiant Canbec, King of the Heralds BigMorf, Ghostblood Babsk Kyubnyan, Herald of Internal Affairs Santa Claus, Herald of War Schirminator, Herald of Growth About SYNDICATE, Inc. 5. It's been a pleasure serving with you WANA. Following you up will be no small task, but I'll carry that weight.
  6. House Stark was not cut by us, friend. I'm not sure who told you that.
  7. Et Tu, Ataxia? I, who wished you fair skies and warm breezes? I, who wished you sunny days, and mild winters? I now feel the steel of your blade in my back? No greater pain than that of the attack of a former ally, and trusted friend. The pain my nation feels is nothing compared to the pain in my heart.
  8. Congratulations to all involved! You love to see it. I wish you a long and fruitful relationship.
  9. Finally, a Roman ally! I've waited so many years for this! Gloria Romae Aeternae Est!

  12. It's been a while since I've seen one of these, so I figured I'd throw up a thread and see if I get anyone. Propaganda from both sides, go!
  13. I look forward to a long, and fruitful relationship with all of the lads over in Eclipse, and Terminus Est. I've known many folks over there for years, and it's nice to once again be allies. We were all separated once upon a time, but we have reunited, and I can't wait to see what we can do together.
  14. I've tried, I've been told I've been exposed to the disease too long and I can't be allowed to interact with the general public for fear of the sickness spreading
  15. No. I live in Boston, I haven't been ok for 17 years.
  16. Damn I look good in that selfie. You'll have to send it to me sometime.
  17. For all of the "Ouroborous is a hegemony, they're going to kill the game, they can't be trusted, they need to be killed first" I heard from some parties, it's frankly SHOCKING that Ouro won two wars and decided to disband. You mean to tell me those accusations and the people screaming about NPO and IQ were..... Misguided, and incorrect, or using hot button words to try to stir up drama? That doesn't sound like the PnW I'm familiar with.
  18. I appreciate you posting a screenshot of me looking at the numbers and saying "we can't help this" as proof that we apparently..... What? Didn't like the idea? "ooooh you said we didn't have the numbers, you didn't say you disliked the idea, your point about this being a selfish war and us not burning for no purpose to bail us out is ruined by this screenshot of an embassy."
  19. Alright so the time is difficult because of time zones and it's also 1am, so they were told like 1 or 2 hours before day change, not 3. I'm tired, I'm dealing with a migraine, I apologize for my inability to tell time, Romans don't do well with electronic time.
  20. I'll participate in this song and dance again, because this is the forums, and not Royal Orbis News. Cataclysm came to us and said "Hey, we're joining this war on the side of TKR." They made it clear to us that this was not them just joining to attack Midgard, they joined specifically on the side of TKR, to defend them. They were not allies with TKR. They were allies with us. We made it clear that we did not support the idea, and would not get involved, but we said to them "You are a sovereign alliance, we will not tell you what you can and can not do." but we also made it clear to them that we disapproved of this, and would not participate in their plans. Cataclysm joined the war, and as soon as they did, discussions began about ending the tie between us and them, because it was a major breach in trust. People can claim "Oh, well you didn't tell them no, so how could they have breached the trust, you gave them permission, this is your fault" and to those people, I will again point back to the fact that they are a sovereign alliance. They can do as they please, but they also bring upon themselves the repercussions for their actions. They came to us to talk about joining at around 8pm EST, and we made it clear we would not be joining and we asked them what their reasoning for joining was. We asked them what their CB for joining was. We asked them what the benefit to joining was. We received no solid answers, basically only being told "We want to" and soon after we were told "We're going in." Cataclysm made the decision to go in, despite us being opposed to it. Cataclysm had no evident CB to go in. Cataclysm joined solely because they wanted to defend The Knights Radiant, and Withheld Sphere, an enemy sphere of ours that held alliances we were repeatedly hostile with. Cataclysm knew they were going in alone, and that we had no reason nor any interest in joining, and they acknowledged that they were going in entirely alone. Cataclysm came to this decision on their own. They went about it on their own. The repercussions of it are their own. We cut the tie with them three hours before day change, and they were attacked two hours later. Cataclysm acted selfishly, with no regard for what was best for the sphere. Cataclysm was attacked by Eclipse and Terminus Est, because they had joined the war as a third party. People can say whatever they desire about the war, but it was made abundantly clear that the war between Withheld and Midgard did not involve Ouroboros, nor did it involve Wayward. If Cataclysm acted with no regard for their allies, or sphere-mates by joining the war, and bringing members of Ouroboros into the war, something that was clearly likely to occur, why should The Syndicate join the war? We made it clear we didn't want to help TKR. We made it clear we didn't think Cataclysm joining the war was a good idea. We made it clear we were not going to get involved. Cataclysm severed the tie of Wayward when they went against the interest of their allies in joining the war, and they brought this attack upon themselves. Why should The Syndicate join the war to aid them? Why should The Syndicate go against what is best for itself to hold the hand of a former ally who foolishly joined a war they had no business joining? If The Syndicate joins the war against Eclipse and Terminus Est, it is clear and obvious to everyone present that Rose will militarize and join the war, and Wayward and Withheld are by no means strong enough to defeat both Midgard and Ouroboros together, but that there is the crux of the matter. People do not care about the "sacred importance of the treaty." People do not care about the "Betrayal of one's allies." People do not care about the "Reputation and Legacy of The Syndicate." People are angry that The Syndicate looked at a situation, saw that it was a disaster, and chose to not join. People are angry that The Syndicate looked at a war that it had no business joining, and knew would be a disaster if it joined, and chose to act in the interest of itself, and its members. People are angry that The Syndicate is not going join a war only to be defeated and take a massive amount of damage, so people can mock it. People are angry that The Syndicate chose the logical path, the same path that I point out the vast majority of people in Orbis would have chosen. So no, The Syndicate does not apologize for not giving you all entertainment. No, The Syndicate does not apologize for making an unpopular decision. No, The Syndicate does not apologize for not sacrificing itself for an ally that cared nothing for it, and enemies that mocked it and attacked it at practically every chance they had been given in the past. If you all believe your words will shame The Syndicate into making an idiotic decision that does not benefit itself and instead casts aside the wellbeing of the alliance for no reason, than I urge you to look in the mirror, because you're living a fantasy. -Gaius Julius Caesar, Imperator of Imperium Romanum, Vice President of Public Relations
  21. Jupiter preserve me, the damned timeline is more twisted here than the Gordian Knot! Valentinian? Cicero? Justinian? Marcus Agrippa? Tiberius? Germanicus? All on the same boat, to go to fight a war with Carthage? I haven't been this confused since I went drinking with Bacchus a few campaigns back, lad!
  22. Over my two years in T$, I was fortunate enough to have more interactions with the various members of House Stark than I can recall. I can say without a shadow of a doubt, the bond House Stark and The Syndicate shared was one of a kind, and the love and brotherhood we shared shall hold a special place in my heart for as long as I played this game. It was truly an honour, and a privilege to call House Stark an ally, and I wish nothing but the best for you all. Greatness lays on the horizon, Ataxia of House Stark. May you and yours reach out and seize it. May all of Orbis know the glory and strength of House Stark as myself, and other members of The Syndicate learned over the years, and may we one day again share a hearth and ale. Vale, amice vetus. Benedictus sis a Marte.
  23. Congratulations to everyone on peace. I have to say however, the NAP is a surprising one to me. As @Zed and @Dr James Wilson said in their posts, I was under the impression that members of this war were against NAPs as a concept? Rose and their allies at the time, as well as Grumpy and Guardian and Oblivion I believe all signed a public treaty, stating all of them disagreed with NAPs, especially ones that lasted longer than the war that was just fought. @Marikayou were the one who announced the treaty, if I recall. Am I missing any sort of details?
  24. Boogie-Woogie will always hold a special place in my heart.
