In response to the new restrictions placed on the free exercise of international commerce by the Government of Velika, specifically section 4.b which calls for "All foreign trade to Velikan ports must be carried in Velikan ships.", and section 4.d which calls for "Subsidies on all exports.", the Athretvar government has imposed the following temporary reciprocal regulations— 1) To protect the rights of Athretvar ship-owners and marine cargo transporters, all Velikan goods being imported into Athretvari shall be carried aboard Athretvar ships. 2) To prevent the dumping of Velikan goods on Athretvar markets, there is a tariff on Velikan goods entering Athretvari, equal in value to any subsidy granted by Velika to its exports to Athretvari. The twelve esteemed members of Athretvari’s political and civil societies were carefully chosen to best represent Maria’s interests in their assigned countries. Each of the twelve nations is invited to appoint an ambassador to Athretvari and establish an embassy in one of Maria’s many beautiful neighborhoods. Considered the Venice of southeast Asia, Maria boasts many areas featuring beautiful Neo-European architecture along wide canals that are continuously serenaded by the songs of tropical birds, originally constructed to attract tourists during the city’s beginnings as an ASEAN Joint Free Trade Zone. To request diplomatic relations and the appointment of an Athretvar Ambassador to your nation, please submit a request with nation name, capital city, and name of your ambassador to Athretvari.

The Government of Athretvari is happy to establish diplomatic relations with Hequ, including the mutual exchange of ambassadors, the establishment of embassies in our respective capital cities, and the signing of a "preferred trade partner agreement" which will permit Hequ exports to Athretvar markets in exchange for Athretvar access to Hequ markets. We must reiterate that these regulations are binding upon all foreign ships entering and attempting to transit the waters declared a sovereign part of Athretvari regardless of their diplomatic status with Athretvari and thus not dependent upon any agreements between our governments. These regulations are intended to protect the safety and security of the Athretvar people and state, and we are committed to defending the same without hesitation. Our government's primary concerns deal with navigation through the canals that separate the islands of Athretvari. These canals are approximately 2-miles wide, sufficiently wide enough to handle the regular and necessary marine traffic to and from Athretvari, but not sufficient enough to handle unlimited through-transit. These regulations basically state, if you have no business in Athretvari, go around Athretvari. Of course, as our nations already have basic diplomatic relations, we are happy to discuss economic negotiations that would allow Narvanese commercial vessels ability to freely use Athretvar ports and waters without issue.

Athretvar Maritime Regulations Concerning Foreign Ships Proposed by the High Admiralty and agreed to by the Corps of Generals, Corps Parliament and Corps of Expert Specialists-Select on 24 April 2004. Such transit shall be speedy and not involve stopping at any point within the various waters of Atheretvari, except in times of distress or emergency and only when such distress or emergency is communicated to Athretvar security or government authorities. 3. Foreign ships may, but only with prior permission from the Athretvar Government, peacefully traverse through the Territorial Waters and Internal Waters of Athretvari when said ships are also calling upon a port within Athretvari for the purposes of engaging in commercial, economic, or logistical activities. 4. At no time may any foreign ship conduct commercial, economic, military, or scientific activities within any of the waters of Athretvari, without explicit prior approval from the Government of Athretvari. 5. At no time may any foreign ship release wastes, or dump trash or any material hazardous to the health of humans or wild-life within any of the waters of Athretvari. 6. All foreign ships traversing through the various waters of Athretvari shall adhere to all standing Athretvar laws and regulations concerning the conduct of ships within the various waters of Athretvari. 7. All foreign ships within the various waters of Athretvari shall obey instructions from Athretvar security or government authorities, and shall submit to inspections of ship, crew and cargo by Athretvar security authorities upon demand. PART III - GENERAL PROVISIONS 1. Athretvari reserves the right during times of emergency, war or conflict to restrict or prohibit access to or transit through the various waters of Athretvari. 2. Their interest peaked again as a petit anime with a big mop of bright green hair and giant silvery eyes was ’escorted’ in by six heavily-armed ADF security guards into the vast empty underground vault that served as the Athretvar Central Intelligence Agency (ACIA) X-Files Research Group’s “Area #52â€. The witch was a run-away, from where she had yet to say. She looked as if she had resisted her capture. Her thin pale arms were bruised and bloodied, and bound tightly behind her with silver-iron razor-wire. She stumbled and crashed to the floor of the testing area. The six guards kept their automatic G30 combo air/laz rifles trained on her small trembling frame. The group looked on without any sign of emotion. They were gathered in a separate observation deck overlooking the testing area, behind a wide wall of 2-cm thick plasteel meant to protect them from the show about to begin below. Tyro waved a hand interrupting Kysigga, "Yes, yes. I know what a witch is.†Several of the officials laughed and then moved forward as they realized there was another person in the testing area. A black figure carrying a type of long-staff stepped forward and stood about 10 meters in front of the witch. Tyro pointed to the sleek, slender special ops agent. She was a young woman, a graduate of the ACIA’s top-secret Joxo War School in Gloria, cland in a black skin-tight battle-suit using cutting-edge multi-purpose high-tensity nano-wire technology, and best, built in Athretvari. “Can the suit do what Szimon Shiga says it does?†Kysigga felt his pride bruised by Tyro’s interruption and ’cut-to-the-chase’ manner, “Yes high Commander, the Shiga-Jujitsza Land-Master2 can ...†Tyro cut him off again, “Show us.†Kysigga cleared his throat, “Of course.†He spoke into a cuff-comm “Release the witch.†====On the floor==== Sergeant Jameszon reached down slowly and placed the wire-cutters against the razor-wire. She pushed her helmet close the witch’s ear, “I’m going to let you loose now. Any funny business and you’re dead, b!tch.†Jameszon squeezed the cutters, the razor-wire snapped. The sergeant didn’t get to see what happened next. Without pause the witch’s arms flung up and around Jameszon’s helmet. With an ear-shattering scream the witch twisted left, jerked right, yanked down and then lepted backward to drive a knee to Jameszon’s face-plate, instantly killing the sergeant. The other five security guards opened fire. The little witch screamed, and to the amazement of the group watching above, shifted left and right with blazing speed, dodging the fiery-red blasts of superheated plasma. “I will kill you all!†she screamed flying up in a burst of green energy. One of the guards shouted, “Henri! Gregorro! Ballistics!†As the two guards looked to switch their G30s to fire physical slugs, the witch clapped her hands. Twenty thousand volts of electricity shot out from the witch’s fingers. Henri’s and Gregorro’s G30s fell to the ground landing in heaps of ash. The LandMaster raised her arm, commanding the remaining security, “Back away. I’ll deal with her.†She lit her Battle-Rod. “Deal with me?!†the witch whirled around in a frenzy of green energy. “After I destroy you, I will rule these tiny, insignificant islands as a their new glorious witch-queen!†“Big dreams for a two-bit hag,†the LandMaster mocked. The anime’s bright green hair shot up as if she were hit by a bolt of lightening. Screaming she clapped her hands, but before she could let loose the LandMaster had shifted nearly five meters left, then right. Suddenly it was upon her. She fired her magic. Shiga-wires up and down the LandMaster’s suit vibrated at hypersonic frequencies inducing an electromagnetic field around the agent, pushing her away from the witch’s energy bolt. The blast knocked the Battle-Rod away. The LandMaster called on the suit’s leg wires to propel her up and over the witch. She sprang high into the air. The witch launched another attack, “Ahabara ho-kus!†Silvery streams of energy shot out her huge eyes catching the LandMaster squarely in her chest. The agent was thrown back against the plasteel, shattering it. She fell to the ground stunned and gasping for air as her suit attempted to increase oxygen flow. The witch flew towards the plasteel, clapping and blasting sharp thick shards inwards towards the officials. She laughed as screams escaped from the observation deck. “I will kill you ... ahhh!†The LandMaster grabbed the witch’s hair and threw her to the floor with nearly a ton of force. The witch slammed against the cold stone face-first, cracking the concrete. She growled and jumped up. The LandMaster was half a second ahead of the witch. After throwing her raging opponent down, she had lit her suit’s greatest weapon—long, ultra-thin Shiga-Wires running along the sides of her arms and legs. They vibrated bright hot. As the witch lept up, the LandMaster lunged downward swinging her arms and legs in several great arcs. The witch fell to the ground in pieces, her head rolled away wild-eyed and still cursing. ====Observation Deck==== Tyro brushed several plasteel fragments from his hair, shoulders and uniform, “I say, that was quite a demonstration. Do we agree, that all our Special Corps should be trained and equiped with these Shiga-Jujitsza LandMaster battle-suits?†He looked around at the others still dazed and trying to gather their wits. “Agreed,†they each said quietly. Other problem is that you dont actually see ALL the countries within your immediate neigborhood. The map on your nation page actually deletes/doesn't show countries VERY, VERY close to you. This is to allow players to see their countries in a crowded neighborhood. You can see how crowded it actually is near you by looking at the map of a country about midway to the edge of your map. You'll notice for example, North Island New Zealand, where the OP's nation is located, is actually a lot more populated than it looks on the OP's national page map.

Sorry, I didn't blame the team, I simply pointed out the actions of one member and requested that that type of heavy-handed moderation be itself moderated a bit. You guys and gals want to be respected, not hated. I'm just trying to preemptively forestall conflicts between the greater player community and this select team. Why? The players just need to either agree to an open ended/unknown result RP, or they agree to RP to achieve certain results. The point is to avoid one player RPing events that affect another player's country or characters without that player's permission. RPing the killing/poisoning of your national leader is fine. RPing the existence of a terrorist group and your funding them and sending them arms in another player's nation without their permission is not... that is a classic example of sh!tty/god-mod RP. Just be considerate of other players right to control the events RPed within their nation/territories and with their characters, and everyone should be able to still have fun.

You should require some RP to support any expansion. And make clear that you'll enforce some realism, so people with small militaries can try, but should know they wont be able to defend huge chunks of territory.

I know I could do a limited version of this by hand, but I was thinking it would be great (especially for my RP purposes) if I could easily see the total volume of my imports and exports in both dollar value and by commodity traded. This will allow the finding of what in the real world is called Current Account, aka "trade balance" for our nations. (Usually an interesting statistic for nation-sim nerds such as myself.) I would like two sets of numbers in particular. Total value of Imports since nation's founding. Total value of Exports since nation's founding. Total value of Imports over past 30 RL days (approximately 1 Orbis year). Total value of Exports over past 30 RL days. It would be AMAZING to have it further broken down to show something like— Total Food Imports over past 30 RL days Total Uranium Exports ... etc
