  1. Economic undercuts are fought with embargoes. In this case, he needs to be declared on, not embargoed.
  2. Well, in any case, try contacting his alliance members and possibly try to make realize the need to find a better home. It will give their nations a better chance to survive and thrive. Besides, it is an effective war strategy since it cuts the benefit of taxes to him. He is out of my range but out of respect for your cause, I will embargo him. That is not the sort of "New India" any Indian would want anyway so...
  3. I don't know what's the deal with him and his alliance. Maybe those few somewhat active guys in his alliance have willingly given up their nations as tax farms, maybe they are plain ignorant or perhaps they are indifferent to the welfare of their nation. In any case, I don't think an outright war on Aamir is the way to go if you are seeking justice for them. Have you tried contacting the people concerned and asking them if they need help to recover their money? If you did contact them and they did need/want their money back, did you try sending Aamir a message asking him to return the money and resources to his alliance members and if the tax rate is high, to lower it? War ought to be the last resort since if he is really using his member's money to fund his nation, destroying his nation does not really help the poor members of his alliance except the fact that maybe it will teach him a lesson (and that too after he has drained his alliance bank more to fight) so I assume you followed the diplomatic path before you chose to declare on him. That being said, his market cuts are indeed annoying but embargoes are the way to go if you want to deter him or teach him a lesson. I don't think anything he has done till now warrants a global hunt, especially if it is being done without a diplomatic approach prior to the declaration (again hoping that isn't the case here). Just my 2 cents. As I mentioned before, I don't know much of the situation. Basing my post on some deductions and speculations, correct me where I am wrong.
  4. Taxes, resource sale profits, donations by members/leaders, etc to get the money flowing in. Then invest a small part of that money in trusted nations, low tier ones preferably. This, in turn, will increase the incoming money via taxes. Repeat the cycle.
  5. Really depends on the extent of the war and how long it continues. Generally, steel sky rockets the most, followed closely by aluminium. Prices can go as high as 2500 $ ppu (may even cross 3000 $ ppu if the the war lasts for more than 2-3 weeks) for both of them but as the game progresses, alliances will learn to stockpile these resources so the price rise won't be as significant. Gasoline and munitions usually jump upto 1800-1900 $ as well I think, may even jumpt o ~ 2000 $ ppu but the price rise is not as significant as price rise in Aluminium and Steel. Food would also have a considerable rise in price but never more than $ 300 ppu.
  6. I have watched it as well. His acting is great, the storyline is great. How he manages to rise so high, so quickly is amazing. My fav quote was - You are what you choose to reveal
  7. I totally agree but what's the purpose? If there is a final judgement after death, such an attitude to attain immortality through infamy will prove to have been unwise. If there isn't a heaven or hell and death is indeed our ultimate end, then does it really matter whether people remember us for good things or bad things or whether they do remember us at all? We won't be there to see it. Wouldn't it make more sense then in this case, to live a life that earns you good will of others? At least while you are alive, you will have people respecting you out of goodwill and love (not respecting you out of fear) and that ought to count for something. No one may remember the in charge of soup kitchen but I think it would not matter for that person, if he were able to see it. He may get it a little bit hurt over how quickly people forget but he'd have lived his life with a purpose. At least when he was alive, he had the satisfaction of helping others and possibly more love and goodwill of the people with whom he came in contact with than a person with more power would have. Indeed memory of Hitler lives on but would I like to be remembered in the manner he is remembered? I don't think so, even if it means living a simple life and dying without making it into the history books. Infamy isn't necessarily better than ignominy. In the end I guess, it really depends on how you perceive life and your understanding/belief of what happens after death?
  8. The spoiler below has a long, very long wall of text. A wall of text which is full of my ramblings. Read at your own risk
  9. It is not only Guardian but also people who are siding with Guardian because they can sympathize with their cause or admire their action. So it is a considerable, if not great, reduction in resource offers available to DEIC. At the same time, it is reduction in number of buyers DEIC resource sellers would have access to. It may work both ways Idk Besides, I think it is more of a "carrying out one's threat" than anything else.
  10. How many members voted in total, if you don't mind sharing? Just curious about something.
  11. I guess alliances and players are slowly realizing that is easier and cheaper to produce food on their own.
  12. Maybe we should demand something from him now? Taste of his own medicine?
  13. Hey bro, first of all, calm down. A little hostility shouldn't dishearten you so much that you are compelled to abandon something you love to do. I believe you did meet some people whom you found very friendly and likable. Just interact with them till you learn the ropes of the game. You don't need more than a few close friends to enjoy the game anyway. Personally, I found the community reasonably helpful, kind and welcoming when I came to the OWF and since we came across the same people, I think the difference lies in perception of things. So I suggest trying to shift your perception a bit. We often feel words of hate more strongly and remember them for longer than we feel and remember the kindnesses shown to us by others. Make sure that isn't the case here. You do bring up a serious concern and if other new comers are encountering the same problems as you, it is the fault of the community but if that isn't the case, the problem might be on your end as well. Maybe in your excitement, you unintentionally caused inconvenience to others and that is what made them sound irritated. Before I finish, I also want to state that I don't know much about this situation, just bits and pieces of information I deduced from this thread so I have answered accordingly. At last, take your time to understand the game, make some friends and be slow in forming opinions of people you meet. They may not always be as bad as they might appear you to in first instance
  14. I won't talk about this any more since according to you, I don't understand your attitude. I see no point in wasting more time arguing with you. Good luck with your war.
  15. As evidenced from this post, our Royal advisors are masters in reverse psychology so come and don't join now But srsly, SK is a great alliance for it gives you all the assets you need to not only learn and master the technical aspect of the game but also make a name for yourself in the PW community. In the end, it is ultimately upto you what heights you reach but join SK and you will never be lacking in opportunities to rise, just be there to grab them!
  16. Interesting idea. I'd help but I barely produce enough steel to meet my nation's demand. Anyhoo, good luck
  17. Had forgotten about this lol sorry! Thanks and hello to all those who posted. U guys make this game very enjoyable, thanks for being the way you are! :D @Ashland, I am indeed enjoying it very much. The game's much better than what I have seen till now Hai Darkie! We need to catch up on IRC sometime
  18. Welcome to the game, Vecni. Tell us more about yourself. Interests? Fav sports? Bands? Books?
  19. I am not going to attack your character (like you just tried to do with me). Here is what I have to say, take it in anyway you want - the objective of my post was to point out that you don't practice what you preach - "thinking long term". It did not praise my attributes, it wasn't focused on me. (1) (2) In short, I am roleplaying as Niklaus. Klaus is a 1000 year old vampire, who is a near psycho. Socrates is a nick I used long ago and has since stuck with me. I have kept it to avoid confusing some of my older contacts (the ones I became acquainted to as Socrates). When you read my posts in future, don't expect a mature, well written post full of gems of wisdom because a wise philosopher is not someone I am aiming to or making efforts to roleplay as. Secondly, I have never made any claims to be wise. Socrates was a wise man, I cannot even hope to achieve the reputation for wisdom he achieved in his lifetime. You always try to dismiss my posts as destructive criticism it seems. You take offence instead of seeing and understanding the constructive criticism I or some other players give. Out of countless responses you will get, only few actually have something constructive to offer. Take it. Look where your attitude has gotten you. I warned you about it and you had just shrugged it off.
  20. I like this but that choice, wouldn't it benefit bigger nations more? Thus widening the gap between tiers.
