  1. We outnumber you in the lower tiers, which means the submarine tactics we can properly use are blocked off to you, and there isn't even 40 whales left in the upper tiers. In fact, we literally took out half a dozen whales yesterday alone. The fact is whales in this game by definition are rarely skilled at warfare, if they were they would never have had the funds to build to the whale tier as they would be suffering the damages themselves. It's why the planes strategy works so effectively, had your side done proper selldowns you could've easily stopped our takedowns, however your side is full of unskilled whales lazily waiting around for our harpoons which is fine by me :^)
  2. One day you too may receive a wall of text written on a handheld device that includes a voice-to-text feature for faster composing. Until that day comes keep arguing about popular topics like WWII, Rome, or American History.
  3. The Social War, Marius and Sulla, and what were the other five? Slave revolts aren't civil wars but I suppose you can add one if you really wanted to since everyone loves Spartacus. Unless you're trying to split up Marius and Sulla's civil war into multiple ones, you aren't going to get seven even if you argue that the Hispanian holdout should be counted as separate rather than a continuation. I do agree that the Republic was doomed though since Pompey "Stop quoting laws to us. We carry swords." Magnus was the one ultimately leading the defense of it. No, the senate had amassed vast swaths of power during the 2nd Punic Wars and it continued to gain more at the expense of the Plebeian Assembly(will get back to this at the next quote). Exile from Rome does not strip you of your wealth so Caesar could have lived a life of luxury in a nice Mediterranean villa rather than spend it all paying legions to spill the blood of his fellow citizens. While I do empathize with the soldiers who may very well have been shafted, I don't think money is enough of a reason to kill fellow citizens. Sulla did stick around though, he lived in a villa not far from Rome upon his resignation and it wasn't until his death that everyone ignored the policies he forced upon the Republic. There was no way Caeser wouldn't have fared differently if he lived and if that was his goal, which it wasn't. He famously spared enemies lives because he thought it would limit the likelihood of counter revolts and assassinations, nothing more. Going back to the point about the Plebeian Assembly, if Caeser had any intention of "fixing" the Republic rather than setting up a system for him to appoint a heir to take over upon his death, he would have vastly increased the powers of the Assembly to a point just under checking his own power (since dictators, by definition, can't be checked beyond the 6 month term limit that he so conveniently got rid of). So what did he do? Ah yes that's right, he instead gave himself the power to appoint all Consuls and Tribunes instead, how very republican of him. While I made that monarchy statement as a bit tongue in cheek, a monarchy is any form of a hereditary transfer of power, regardless of the trappings and contexts of it. Since Augustus transferred power to Tiberius, who transferred power to Caligula, and so on and so forth, the republic was essentially a monarchy from that point on. Caeser very likely was planing to do the same thing before he was assassinated and even adopted Octavian in his will, he probably would've done it (or perhaps kept looking for a better heir considering how sick Octavian always was) before his death to begin a hereditary transfer of power. The senate was a puppet of Augustus and never went against his will, the only thing of note the senate did for the first 60 years of the empire was orchestrate the assassination of Caligula. And what did the Senate do once they were free from a single individual holding all the political, marital, and spiritual authority in the state? Ah yes, that's right, they voted to grant all the powers to Claudius because they were not independently elected but approved by the emperors. I don't know about anyone else but that sounds exactly like what would happen in a monarchical nation to me. The fact of the matter is that the Principate was just the fun PR term Augustus used to try and hide the fact that there was once again a King of Rome for the first time in 400 years.
  4. "Sulla was a fool when he gave up the dictatorship." Caesar was power hungry sociopath, he sided with the populares because he saw it as the easiest route to power. He attempted to crush the power of the senate and stacked it with men loyal to him. Calling his consolidation of power "reform" is disingenuous at best, he was a tyrant hell bent on destroying the oligarchy and instituting a monarchy, a task which cost him his life.
  5. The Senatorial classes made fortunes off the latifundia and monopolized political power while the Equities monopolized trade and government contracts. Those poor pirates were just trying to get some money to feed their hungry families and the local orphans. And Ceaser, that power-hungry bastard, gazes upon all these poor and desperate sailors who treated him with relative kindness for a month and decides to crucify the lot of 'em.
  6. This change is objectively bad There is no real argument against why we can't use tags in other boards
  7. That was two wars ago, smh. I'm not gonna do things I've already done, otherwise I could just flagswap and repost all the memes which is super lazy and actually that's not a bad idea brb
  8. Drakememe.jpg ?✋: Casual conversations on discord ??: Casual conversations on the forums
  9. One day I hope to have a proper challenger to the video meme throne, unless they get a hold of Premier I have other people to keep an eye on. Was this before or after you robbed pantheon?
  10. Never heard of them, thought you were talking about micchan which, while okay, is certainly far from the best memer in game (I'll give her best in chaos bloc though)
  11. Honestly, I find ww2 kinda boring. How about we hop on back to Rome so I can !@#$ about how Ceaser destroyed the republic just because he couldn't accept a comfortable exile in wealth and luxury but no political power. Or joke about how Justitian reconquered southern Iberia with like 3 guys and a shovel and somehow held it for 100 years until the final Roman-Parthian war broke out.
  12. Too late kid, we won the ingame war, we won the forum war, and now we're gonna win the history war.
  13. Lmfao, the t-34 was the best medium tank on the eastern front. The nazi's didn't have any real medium tank counter to it until the panther which they made super complicated and then crewed with dumb teanagers. The gearbox on the panther constantly breaking down limited their effectiveness to static turrets, the inability of the nazis to supply ammo limited their ability to actually fight. I'd also recommend reading up on the soviet combined arms armies of the mid-late war as opposed to regugitating stale memes and propaganda. I gotta also say I like how you say the soviets were the ones freezing on the eastern front when they were the army that actually provided their troops winter gear lmfao.
  14. They got it because they had the single strongest army on the planet, their combined arms doctrine was leagues ahead of the allies due to fighting longer and harder against the Nazi's. The allies had no desire or ability to force their will upon Stalin. I also don't think breaking agreements is "smart" and the fact that you think it is says a ton about how awful your politics are imho. A superpower and a great power are two different things. Emerging powers are, by definition, not superpowers. Portugal colonized Brazil and fought for territory in Africa, they were never considered a superpower. Spain was already considered a fallen power by the time the USA fought them, just another mark in the long troubled history of the failed kingdom of spain. Rome's superpower status was not 96-5whatever you wrote lmfao, their status as a superpower is essentially from is from 142BC, when they destroyed the last remnants of Carthage and finally brought Greece under their control, and somewhere in the 200's AD. The Crisis of the Third Century nearly killed them and that combined with back to back plagues marked the end of unchallenged roman hegemony of the western world. Yes Diocletian and Constantine would come later but the stabilizing reforms would be temporary and the western half of the empire would ultimately be lost while the eastern half suffered calamity after calamity, only having several brief resurgences in power no longer than a century here and there. I do think without the Black Death there was a decent chance for Justinian and subsequent emperors to reconquer the Mediterranean but they never did and the Roman empire couldn't even hold onto their namesake city after the 8th Century.
  15. I'm not the one claiming we're falling apart, you should either learn read the OP for once or look up the definition of "supposed." Gotta say I'm not surprised by your lack of reading comprehension though. After all, you are just a kid.
  16. I'm not sure what's supposed to be worse, that our coalition is falling apart or the fact that yours still can't put up a fight.
  17. NPO isn't MDP chained to anyone on our side, they are an independent agent. Not to worry though, once we mop up the handful of nations left in your coalition the situation will be resolved properly.
  18. There ya go, that's better.
  19. I know you want to be as loved and cherished as I, but you gotta remember there's a difference between memes, shitposting, and badposting. Just because you don't want to acknowledge a shitty joke regarding in-game political history from 5 years ago doesn't mean you should start badposting.
  20. @Mikey was supposed to lead sk to joining forces with upn against the voc/guardian hegemony but instead he resigned and rags signed guardian instead. Upn/voc ended up signing a while later and it ultimately lead to the first of many wars between the four of us. What I'm trying to say is the current game politics are entirely Mikey's fault and therefor he must be destroyed because no one likes it.
  21. As someone who uses the dark theme, I'm pleasantly refreshed by not seeing a white highlight for once.
  22. Ripper can't stop me from enforcing this peace term now. You're doomed and so is all of Orbis mwahahahaha
  23. oh cool we're posting logs from the peace server now?
  24. Google translate, not even once
