[Nuke Event] Total Drama Orbis - Round 2
Arthur Wellington replied to Hatebi's topic in Alliance Affairs

If the alternative would be either micros or large alliances I guess elite alliance would be better. Large alliances indeed are boring. The elite small high govs don't have the time nor interest to really engage with the lower 75% and wars are extremely well planned, followed by long NAPs. Micros on the other hand seems to enjoy the best parts of the game, better cb's, relative quicker growth or decline, exiting wars with lasting impacts. Elite alliances could atleast in part better fit the micro playstyle than the large alliances. But the benefits for large alliances are better than the other sides apparently and many people who play pnw for a long time feel comfortable having a minimum of input without loosing all the effort already made. On another note, very nice to see the forums a bit more active!

Role play can be part of creating your nations page and adjusting the different aspects and description of your nation. Some alliances have a strongly developed theme that binds them to eachother but I dont know if any of those goes very far with that.

[Anniversary] 10 years of Fighting Pacifism

Harry flashman? Where did he go? -
Youre not any fun in this thread, thats for sure.. War is nice. Good wars are even better. Shakyr proposes to shorten the wars which would make the long NAPs unnecessary and the entire war part more easy. Combine it with a surrender option at a certain infra level after a certain amount of time and this game could improve. Im especially curious to Alex's actual plans because this otherwise would all be idle chatter.
-
Youre making arguments pro Shakyr. The tactics you describe may seem like a favor towards the little guy in any given war but it actually reinforces the inbalance between the two sides. Plus its not like your way of playing the game, being toxic, a bit racist and trolling helps to make PnW a nice place for new players (and old). But hey, keep things exactly the way they are and expect changes!

Very good suggestion. Wars now drag on which doesnt benefit the losing side nor the winning side. With this suggestion wars would be more dynamic and not the borefest they are now. @Alexwhat do you think and what do you plan with the war mechanics in the next 6 months or so?

I for one would welcome some discord screen dumbs in here. Wasnt there someone who paid for those? -
We are looking for active members.

Also, is it really a good idea to put people from the Balkans in one alliance?... -
Even if you feel the OP is overly touchy or PC you cannot deny his claims and statements. He also proposes a real solution. And since this is in basis a text based game he actually is making a dead on point. Interesting to say the least.

[Reverse Nuke Auction] The Voting Game - Final Round
Arthur Wellington replied to Hatebi's topic in Alliance Affairs
Wouldnt it have been cheaper to perma zero infra all of argh members for 6 months by the paying people? Would also have been a fun community event. Perhaps in 2025? -
Revive Acadia!?!

What does the data say? Can the wars over the course of PnW be brought into a nice graph for example? It would be interesting to see if the dynamics behind the alliance system has caused a decline in warfare or trading or something similar.

I might be the only one but on of the nicest things of the forums for me was the Moderation section. I loved the ban appeals, complaints and rule breaker discussion. For the last couple of months it's limited to multi reports only. A solution could be to get rid of the ingame report button but even better, Orbis should complain more. Who is with me?

This Nation has a Racist and Overly Sexual Nation Theme

To add, alliance name is Racoon Squad (Coon) Coon in combination with the pics and name ofcourse isn't only short for Racoon but a very derogative term -
If the last post is correct then the question should be, which people out of the potential 120 actually did vote? Aren't there more then 120 non-mob people? And out of all the votes, can't we assume that mostly the forum active people are already actually engaged in PnW politics enough to have a 'full' vote? I bet, for example, that in the top 7 alliances (1000+ members) at least 100 are very engaged and knowledgeable. Edit, My fundamental objection is that while a small select group may enjoy this it makes an already small game dependant on the community for a big part of its gameplay even more select.

Thanks for the reply. Really was wondering. The results show a lot of work put into them (thx for that, Indger, Adrienne, Vas and Putmir, I do enjoy it), and I've asked before why Alex doesn't make it into ingame rewards anymore. I still wonder why the alliance reps (can't find who they are) come before the general population or why the awards wouldn't be a popularity contest?
-
Right Tucker(s), totally weird to question this.
-
I may have misread or misunderstood but, why are the votes of 'alliance representatives' a thing? If this is an actual thing a few follow up questions, 1. Which alliances? 2. Which people exactly? 3. Why these alliances? 4. Why these people? 5. Why is this listed first and not the OWF vote? 6. Can these votes be complelty seperate next year so not to mix anything up? 7. Better yet, next year, don't have a separate vote, one person, one vote?

I do get that my side actually *does* things and gets things done and your side *attempts* things. And blaming the nr 1 might feel good but this NaP and white peace thing goes beyond that I think (without excluding my own gov in this btw). This is me getting some fun out of this mess btw, nothing else so sorry if this was too mean, t'was but a jest.
