  1. Zionist settlers were living in Israel since the turn of the 20th century. If you actually read about the philosophical origins of zionism, which took root in the towns and cities of Moldova and the Ukraine, where pogroms and guild limited professions were common. Many Jews left to live in the ottoman empire because it was more tolerant than the Russian empire was toward Jews. They settled in Palestine for obvious reasons. By the time of the balfour declaration there were already 70k there, working the land. In other words the zionist emigration to the Syrian coast started before the balfour declaration with its own motives. Also anyone who says that the Israelis are basically nazis is either being deliberately emotive or unintentionally ignorant.
  2. I have avoided posting much on this because as an involved party it's easy to look butthurt whatever side you take. My thoughts are that "submarining" or coming back from a war maintaining a low score and up-hitting is a very strong tactic and was very clever of Arrgh to do. It was particularly impressive they managed to maintain cohesion (well, the main group of heavy hitters anyway) despite being trampled. The problem is when peace is declared and the nations don't rebuild. Raiding is one thing, but staying low and picking off weak accounts permanently is a bit of a mean thing to do. It's not new either- the 99% guys used to do it and it was annoying as hell then. I'm all for pixel smashing, but not everyone can be a raider, and low accounts with high military need lots of farms just to maintain their armies. So it becomes a kind of parasitic relationship, and since the low score nations don't really have anything to lose, it's just not worth the effort for the big alliances to counter them. When a position is making the majority of players unhappy AND it's impossible (or extremely unprofitable) to counter, then there is a problem with the game. I'm not sure this solution is the one I would have picked, but it'll certainly nerf the tactic.
  3. The system isn't broken, it just replies on activity and cooperation. Those are qualities you need to succeed and a team game however the mechanics are.
  4. Be active and have good allies. Mensa were hit first in the last war and we "won" the war. Certainly we won the wars we fought in. Our members and allies countered faster than we could be attacked. I also know in our alliance there have been times when despite being declared on, our members have struck first just through sheer activity.
  5. Best of luck guys. We at Mensa have crossed swords with you a couple of times and have only good memories of the experience (Mentally blocking out all the nukes). Hope that NPO is the home you need.
  6. Surely this is only inimical to rp if you value bonuses more than role play? For example if you accept that under military rule, the military budget will be more efficient, or under a technocratic government (noocracy) big projects will be cheaper... Then what's the big deal? If you want to rp as a democracy then you can take the benefits and the weaknesses. People who are more goal/game oriented can just switch. If you want to stop people randomly switching all the time, make the bonus cumulative over time or increase the time between each change.
  7. It means the same as lol. I doubt many people would be willing to send 10m dollars to someone they don't know and expect it back.
  8. I thought I founded phoenix? Oh no, wrong game

Well we don't fast in my household and I have two priests in the family! Haha I think it varies from region to region, with older people keeping to it more than younger.
  10. The forum would be boring without him to argue with
  11. Arabs couldn't conquer a chestnut.
  12. Ansom is actually the biggest crybaby I've ever seen on P&W
  13. In accordance with karmic theory, the Bithynian government has blown up a mosque on their territory and replaced it with a giant stone replica of Abu's head. A stray cat colony has moved into the empty building and it now smells faintly of urine.
  14. Well if you understand international law, the Bithynian embassy was not part of Arabia. Also I'm sure you have architecture. Unless all your buildings are identical cubes, they are "art".
  15. You'll find that the Holy Dioist Empire of Pakistan doesn't supply nuclear weapons to anyone, because nuclear weapons are for peasants.
  16. Our embassy was previously a giant statue of your head, with grass for hair. Residents were shocked to see a missile fly into your enormous stony nostril this afternoon. Despite our best efforts to evacuate, we somehow forgot several tonnes of high explosive. Subsequently your head exploded with such force that several neighbouring buildings were destroyed, and a high ranking imam was crushed by an enormous replica of your nose. Bithynia sends her condolences to the families of the fallen.
  17. The Pakistani Space Program lends it's support to alien and ayylien alike in their quarantine of the Caliphate.
  18. Following reports that the Arabian Caliphate, under Abu Haddad, has converted the glorious sand© of Arabia into a muddy cesspit, the Dioist Republic of Bithynia officially closes it's embassy in the capital. This pigdisgusting destruction of the heritage of the nation, for the supposed production of foodstuffs, has not gone unnoticed by the Dioist hierocracy in the Punjab. Further pigdisgusting actions will result in direct action.

Go read the Bible then fool. 40 days isn't a literal number, it's something repeated through the Bible as being symbolic of a time of struggle. http://www.ecclesia.org/truth/40.html Secondly, fasting isn't a competitive sport. It isn't like Jesus was out to prove he could go without food and water for the longest. He can walk on water and make fish and wine appear out of nothing. He went to the desert (he was driven by the holy spirit) to prepare himself for the task ahead, in the same way as others before him. He was a man and suffered the weakness and temptations of man, and overcame them. I could go on for ages but in short: 1. It was an echo of the forty years the Jews spent in the wilderness after moses led them from Egypt 2. It was a chance for him to reflect upon the mission given to him, which ultimately led to his painful death 3. It allowed him to reject the temptation to use his power for selfish purpose and to dedicate himself to his father's will and purpose. Any more Islamic bullshit please take it to another thread.

Not many orthodox do this either to be fair. Also becoming vegan for 40 days isn't super impressive since millions of people do this all year round for fun.
  21. You realise that asking for a little bit extra is un-islamic. You should do it with no interest pleb.
  22. Everyone knows oblige only loves his fellow whales.
