  1. Rapmanej: "This is the most toxic game I've ever seen"
  2. Alex paid for advertisements and increased player recruitment avenues. This works because average per player monetization is very high, but player retention is still extremely low.
  3. IIRC Rapmanej dragged out a now 10 year old audio recording regarding another game while Roquentin was having an adverse reaction to drugs prescribed by his doctor and Rapmanej edited it out of context, so yeah. Otherwise, won't comment on this anymore.
  4. Congrats on freedom. What I worry about is that 20 years later, someone will find out you played a game called Politics and War which had fascist problems and use it against you politically.
  5. Seizures yet? Glorious, glorious hallucinations? How about some metastasis?
  6. I've mentioned elsewhere that if Winchell didn't live where he did, he'd have been ostracized because the game is incredibly alt-right (at this moment). Welcome to Orbis.
  7. God, this is even worse of a trainwreck than the war script discussion on Rose's DoW. At least my trainwreck has useful military advice for how to counter fast players / war scripters.
  8. Contribution to report: "Adolf Nazikerz"; well, the first name is innocuous in itself (Adolf used to be a common German name), but the last name is suspicious. Kerz in German is apparently "candle". "Kurz" is "short". Not sure how the conjugation of !@#$ and kerz might work in German, however. Nazikurz, on the other hand, is a Twitter hashtag attacking Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz. Still, he chose e, not u, so that's not a good excuse.
  9. All happened years ago, when Roquentin (he's not banned anymore, but has vanished) ended up being used as a scapegoat by an organization (in another game) some TKR founders were apart of, as well as subject to out-of-game harassment (I forget whether the respective TKR members ever apologized for that, although officially they were against that particular set of actions). In another game, apparently, the particular person supposedly spent his time using his political influence to sideline some of the TKR founders. In this game, it was perceived that the party involved was getting back at him by sidelining and neutralizing him.
  10. WTF literally can't ask ASM for help. One mistake I made earlier was assuming that WTF was actually militarized, when in actuality WTF had around 40-50% tanks at the outset. ASM, likewise, is not sufficiently militarized to intervene immediately, and moreover, ASM is approximately one-fourth of WTF's nominal strength, which is approximately par with KT's nominal strength.
  11. Alternately, you can say you were on both losing sides, since Pantheon was losing up to and including the point where you defected, and then the Pooball scandal broke out and Original BK cleaned up the mess. There was some effective raiding and counter-work being done from Pantheon, but I noted to our side that we were overextended (i.e, no reserves) during the last Pantheon counter-chain. === That said, I'll give props to Pooball (not for the cheating, but for the military tactics). Hitting a meatshield during preliminary wars leading up to a global is usually a terrible idea, and absorbing members from the alliance you're wrecking is usually also a terrible idea (they're fair weather friends), but when you put it together, it actually achieved strategic effect.
  12. When I had rushed the tombstoning, many members refused to find new homes, even when I had indicated that they had no protection and were just raidbait (especially after I set 0/0 taxes). The remaining 10 members (other than Fist) were kicked out when some politics got me to rush the tombstone. One disagreement I have with others is that Pantheon did a fairly good job with the TJest operation at the end of last year. It would have lasted, in a way, unless someone decided to keep it rolled for 2 months or longer. Part of my issue with Pantheon was toxic politics; I think when it truly "jumped the shark" was when Fist (whose nation is the sole remaining member) couped Sphinx and Yui. This resulted in a transition into "one man politics", since Fist overcentralized power, as well as a tradition of coups. Ethos was removed for inactivity (having vanished days before Nova Riata hit), and rawr was removed for inactivity (Six had spread claims that rawr wanted to disband the alliance). At the very end, it had become a fiefdom with many people resenting the power holder (not the alliance leader) and many of the old guard hoping it would just finally die. One of the main reasons for tombstoning Pantheon (and one of the reasons I recoiled at Dusty and Nokia) was because Pantheon's brand had become wholly toxic. For non-Pantheon members, Pantheon was either a joke or a pityhorse, while for Pantheon itself, it became something people idolized, despite its weakness, and a source of emotional attachment demagogues could exploit for mediocre leadership. As an example of the former, one of the (chased out) former government, who was supposed to have had a power-sharing agreement with a former Titan, responded with "lol" at the tombstoning of the alliance and simply wanted me to disband it. As an example of the latter, that former Titan, Dusty, and Nokia all had lines of "make Pantheon great again" and exploited sentimental attachments to the alliance, despite showing relatively incompetent leadership and no clear planning. @Lord Vader Yeah, was originally going to post something on the spot, but didn't have an accessible forums account at the time.
  13. So you have your revenge. What of it? It still doesn't disguise the fact that NR blowing up the way it did crippled TKR-bloc during Surf's Up. And as I mentioned on your Discord, Pantheon was less something that did you in but rather something that sat around and outlasted you. The actual kill-switch was Akuryo, and certain others not in Pantheon. Hence it's actually pretty bad to declare victory in this way; it's like declaring victory when the car company that produced the vehicle for the drive-by that did you in went under.
  14. There was an agreement to put up a NR flag for like 24-48 hours. That got changed to some kind of NR meme, and then the NR meme was taken down after pressure / breakdown of relationship with the secondary coup. In either case, I'm quite happy that this kind of bashing occurred; I was not fond of NR's operation nor the fact that it apparently operated an infinite cash glitch for months without being detected. I got to keep my deal (to some extent) as well as to watch it backfire on NR. NR is NR; we might disagree on GPWC's generation, but to the best of my knowledge they were the biggest exploiters to date. @Charles Bolivar Double coup, which was decidedly unadvised, unless if you were planning to kill the thing, then a negotiated settlement to buy the thing out. While I was pretty much on board with killing the alliance off once it was obvious the second coup was lethal (neither Epimetheus nor myself had the clout with the government members to keep it functioning, and somehow Epi's promises of protectorates to provide stability fell through), I was not fond of how it was killed off. The members should have been let in on what had happened, as well as be given options (as opposed to bullshit, some of which I had provided) as to what to do with Pantheon being tombstoned. Many people who were in Pantheon at the time of the coup left for Brotherhood Family, to something like a 34-member alliance (it's now 57). To some extent, I wonder if it was a negotiated killing; i.e, people were tired of the Pantheon brand name, and Dusty was given charge from Kosove / Six knowing full well what would have happened. BroFam was given top billing once I had authorization to tell people that the "show's over".
